Nanana’s Buried Treasure Volume 7 Chapter 7.7
「You can win once in twenty tries. So it’s easy. All you have to do is make it so that you can win that one in twenty tries, every time.」
「?」
「This is the first way to screw with Nanana.」
「Well… I understand the logic behind it, but… is it really possible to do something like that?」
「It’s not easy though. I’ve only done it three times.」
It’s happened 3 times?
「So I recommend the second option. Make Nanana run away from a fight that she can actually win. In other words, make her self-destruct.」
「Self Destruction?」
「There are many ways to silence someone who relies purely on luck, because such people generally rely too much on their luck. But the most troublesome part of Nanana is that she doesn’t rely entirely on her luck. She thinks with her head, seeks out a way to win, and then uses her luck to deliver the knock out blow. That’s because her will is very strong, and when it comes down to a final showdown of strength, most people are sure to be crushed by her.」
「…uh-huh.」
「So we should destroy her before that happens.」
It seemed like the explanation was over. Next to me, Lady Ageha was lost. Actually, so was I.
「Sorry, I don’t get it at all.」
「That’s because you’re an idiot, stuuuuupid.」
In the end, I was mocked, but I somehow understood that Sansa-san has her own ideas and theories.
Well, that’s it.
「Ope. Looks like their discussion is over.」
The three teams that were discussing something had just split up… oh and before we knew it, it seems that Ikusaba-san made his return, didn’t he?
After a while, I was surprised to see each team’s progress had been displayed on the monitor.
Before the start of turn 24
Detective Team (blue spade): Detective & Thief – 380 Coins
Sakura Team (yellow diamond): Yamato Nadeshiko & Military Uniform – 380 coins
Lady’s Team (green club): Lady & Servant A & Servant B – 799 coins
Cat Ears Team (red heart): Cat Ears Mask & Cat Ears-chan – 382 coins
「This is…「
The Cat Ears Team, Sakura Team, and Detective Team have are almost the same.
The coins were evened out suddenly, so does this mean that the three teams made a 《transaction》? For what purpose?
Then Sansa-san grins.
「Are you trying to cancel out my involvement completely? That’s an interesting plan.」
********************************************
It’s the 24th turn. Sansa and Nanana had their 5th 《forced acquisition game》 in a row.
The 《robbery game》 this time was 《best of five poker match》.
First, each of them is given ten chips to use in the poker match.
The rules are that before dealing both players bet one chip each. Cards in a hand can be changed out once. After that, each player has the right to bet two more chips on top of the original bet. After the match, the winner takes all betted chips.
The results of the game is the difference in the final number of chips. The max for each chip is worth 5 coins x the number of laps. It’s the 24th turn, and the players are on the 6th lap, so each chip is worth a max of 30 coins.
At this point, M, or rather Nanana, who gets the final say, announces that the rate will be 30.
Since the game is decided by the number of chips each player ends up with, if you take all of your opponent’s chips, the difference will be 20 chips in total. In other words, the game will involve a maximum of 600 coins.
And so the match begins.
As has been the case each time, Sansa borrowed the deck of cards that Yuiga Isshin brought in and looked over all 52 cards.
Isshin carefully shuffled the cards and dealt five to each Sansa and Nanana.
As Nanana told the other participants, the eyepatch that Sansa wears over her left eye is the Nanana collection 《Klause’s Demon Eye》. By wearing it, she can sneak a peek through other people’s vision.
Right now, Sansa’s left eye was peeking out of Nanana’s left eye’s field of vision. This was actually Yun or M who was sitting across from her.
While Sansa’s right eye sees Nanana in front of her, the left eye sees what Nanana sees. When she first started using it, the two different fields of view gave her a headache, but she’s gotten used to it now.
Nanana’s left eye is focused on the cards she is holding in her hand.
Seeing this, Sansa erases her facial expression.
Nanana had only checked two of the cards in her hand. Her 5 cards were stacked on each other, and she has only checked the top card and the one below it. The remaining three cards are left as they are and she didn’t even look at them.
Why?
This must be because she knows Sansa is spying through her.
In other words this must be Nanana’s way of dealing with the issue.
Sansa rejoices in this situation.
This is interesting, isn’t it?
Sansa looks at her cards with a disinterested expression.
She’s doing well. She has 3 Kings with a five and an eight. She has a hand that should be good enough to push for the win.
Then Nanana again looked at the two cards in her hand that she looked at before and thought.
All she can see is the two of hearts and the seven of hearts. Nanana’s best possible hand with this is a straight flush. But the six of hearts is at the bottom of the deck of cards that Yuiga has, so that’s not possible. In other words, the best possible hand would be a straight, flush, or full house… no, the two is at the top of the deck, so it’s a four of a kind.
At this point, Sansa exchanges all of her cards. She discards three Kings without any hesitation.
The new cards dealt to her were (in order) an eight, a three, a two, a six, and a jack. If she had discarded the right cards she could have had a full house of kings and eights.
In response, Nanana discards the known seven of hearts and one of the three unknown cards, and gets two new cards.
Why did she do this? Nanana probably just had a hunch.
When Isshin asked the two if they wanted to bet more chips, Sansa replied that she would leave it as it was, and Nanana declared that she would bet one more chip. Sansa called the raise, so this game would be for two chips each.
The two of them revealed their hands. Nanana had 3 twos for a three of a kind. Sansa had nothing.
「Dammit.」
Sansa let out a sound of frustration and scratched her right cheek three times.
Even as Nanana reached for the chips, Sansa could tell with her right eye that she was glancing at Sansa’s expression. It was even more obvious when looking through her left eye, which was looking through Nanana’s field of vision.
She was on guard because Sansa had nothing in her hand but was still willing to bet an extra chip.
Isshin collected the cards, shuffled them again, and dealt five in front of each of them again.
The second round begins.
Just like before, Nanana picked up one card from her pile with each hand. At that moment Sansa dropped her eye to the five cards dealt in front of her and tapped them with four fingers.
「Fold.」
Saying that, she tossed a chip to Nanana.
The match was declared over and Sansa paid her chip that was due. Neither player had even checked all of their cards.
Even as she picked up the chips, Sansa could see Nanana glancing back and forth between Sansa and her cards, which were still face down. She didn’t know if Sansa had checked the cards in her hand or not. The moment Nanana looked away, she simply tapped the cards with her fingers and folded without checking. As she returns the cards, she glances at them, making sure to check what cards she had in her hand. Her hand was 2 eights, a six, a nine, and a king.
By the way, when Sansa folded, Nanana was so surprised that she accidentally made all her cards visible to her. Sansa’s left eye of course did not miss this. Nanana had a straight flush of hearts.
After collecting the cards, Isshin began to shuffle them. As always, Sansa never took her eye off them. Isshin finished dealing five cards each to the two of them.
Round 3 starts.
Sansa’s hand is not good. It’s very random. A two, a five, a six, a queen, and a king. None of her cards match so it’s pointless.
On the other hand, Nanana showed 2 cards to Sansa’s left eye: the king of spades and the ace of diamonds.
Sansa is thinking.
