It was the soft hand of a girl. However, that hand was cold.

    Although I could not touch her, somehow it seemed that she could touch me.

    It seemed that there were conditions for this. That aside though, I could say this with confidence.

 

    This girl was real. She was actually a real earthbound ghost.

 

    I remained dumbfounded. Nanana was looking at me. She smiled.

「Now then, since Jūgo has now accepted me as an earthbound spirit, I would like to start the battle」

    Suddenly, the earthbound ghost was saying something weird.

「……Wha? Battle? Fight? Why? 」

「Of course, to decide who is the master of this room」

    The person whose existence was beyond conventional thinking seemed to also have a way of thinking that was beyond conventional thinking.

「I don’t understand! 」

「I mean, Jūgo, you are the tenant of this room. Right? But I have been living here before you. That is why we have to choose who is the owner of this room and who is the freeloader. We should start by deciding that right? 」

    Hey hey, this was a scary thing to hear from a ghost. However, the point of earthbound ghosts is that they were restricted to a specific location due to resentment or pain. That meant that perhaps if I did not resolve this resentment, she would not be able to pass on.

    At my peaceful proposal, Nanana sighed.

「As I had said, it does not work that way. I want you to use your imagination. Usually, I am living in this room like a normal person. Eating puddings, watching TV, and playing online games」

「Even though you are a ghost? 」

「Yep, even though I am a ghost. In such a room, a new resident called Jūgo showed up. What happens next」

    I was pulled with great force and rolled onto the ground on my back.

    After this, it was a matter of seconds. In 1 swift motion, Nanana took my left hand and wrapped her legs around my body.

    Before I realized it, she had completed an arm lock on me.

    On top of that, it was no mere arm lock. She had adjusted it so that the focal point was not the elbow but the shoulder. She also considered the counter move for this and was grabbing my left hand to hold it in place.
