Over the Infinite Chapter 15 Part 1
Episode 2 “The Adventurer Saw It”
-1-
The road to the brothel is long and hard.
In the first place it hasn’t been that long since I arrived here and I don’t know my way around, so the first problem was that. With the words “central crossing in front of station” on the website, I made a mistake assuming I just had to go back to where the trial dungeon was. Even when I went near the dungeon, no central crossing station was to be found. I don’t even know if there’s stations in this city.
The dungeon teleportation centre is in the centre of this city. That’s for sure. It was also written on the beginner’s course leaflet. But that only seemed to be the centre of the dungeon sector, where most adventurers spend their time. So it’s only the centre of the city dungeon sector, not the actual city centre. When I heard that from the receptionist at the teleportation centre, I was shocked. The place that I had thought was the city was merely one fracture of the whole thing, and for newly moved people there seems to be a limit to places we’re allowed to access.
If you’re an adventurer though, the moment you debut the limit disappears, so going into the brothel shouldn’t be a problem. I would be helpless with the limit. Whilst still being shocked about the unpredictable surprise, I continued my journey with the coupon in one hand.
However, more than I imagined, this city is massive. Unnecessarily massive. A few times bigger than the dungeon sector. On the carriage on the way here, the lizard man did say it’s quite a big place, but I just assumed that it won’t be as big as the royal capital. After learning a bit, I changed my mind to even if a weird Japanese reincarnated person made this city, it shouldn’t be that large. Also, after hearing the size of the actual city, I still thought it wasn’t big enough for an adult to get lost.
I was ignorant. Until now the city destroyed my assumptions so many times, but I was still ignorant. It’s not even funny. What is it about this place? I can’t remember the way in this massive place. Don’t underestimate how much of a country boy I am. I actually have a skill from being from the countryside, you know?
In other words, I was lost. I also just found another obstacle, which was a way of transport.
The outer district of the dungeon sector of the city, or in other words, near the entrance that we used didn’t have many ways of transport, probably only carriages. This may be for the sake of newcomers or it naturally ended up like that.
Although the city appears very developed, it also does feel fictional, so I guess wherever you go there’s something that doesn’t change. I thought all the fantasy I would see was dragons pulling carriages and Wyverns carrying some luggage. Even if there are convenience stores in this city, places like the guild centre and the dungeon sector seem to follow my assumption.
However, I was still unprepared for what was actually going on.

The surroundings became more and more full of technology as I went closer to the true centre of the city. Cars, buses and trains ran around like it was nothing new, and there were also some carriages that were pulled by horses and humans. Since I got lost in the complicated maze-like station, I asked some of the workers there about the train lines running. It’s nothing like Tokyo’s trains that are referred to as the “Last Dungeon” but there were so many train lines to the point that I was wanting to ask how convenient they want this place to be. Maybe the dungeon master is a train weeb.
Anyway, it still doesn’t make sense that I didn’t know how big this place is.
I mean, since I have been quite busy with no free time since entering the city, it is believable that I didn’t notice. But, even though I heard a lot about the existence of dungeons and that any dreams will come true, I never heard that the city is so massive. With the size of the city that I acknowledge now, it’s already several times larger than the royal capital. We’re not talking about some land but a single city. Whatever they did to control information, it should surely leek from somewhere. Even if it’s far from the royal capital, it’s just a manageable four to five day trip on a carriage.
Thinking it was odd, I tried asking one of the station workers to be replayed with
『Well, the people from outside are blocked from acknowledging some information.』
What does that even mean, it makes no sense. Are we all hypnotised? The worker even responded like it was nothing!
… Anyway, it’s okay. For me now that doesn’t really matter. The only problem now is that I don’t know the way to paradise, the brothel.
Even if I ignore how big this place is, with all this transportation, I should make it there. It’s been fifteen years since I got used to this fantasy world, I was Japanese in my past life.
It would be the easiest if taxies existed, but whether they do or not, there wasn’t anything that I could recognise as one anywhere. The human driven carriages are probably the substitute for taxis, but asking the guys to take me to Milk Pudding near the central crossing is quite embarrassing. Also visiting a brothel on a human carriage just looks disappointing. It sounds like some sort of punishment at that point.
After all the struggle, it took a few hours to figure out that a free overground train goes past the central crossing. And it’s already midnight. I did get a bit sad wondering what I was doing with my life, but I’m still full of energy. Mostly the bottom half of myself.
With an unnecessarily energised me on board, the train continues its way. Perhaps because it’s not underground, it’s quite slow. A walking person could jump onto it. But with two more stations, it’s central crossing station.
The paradise is close.

Cloche「Oh isn’t it Tsuna-kun. Heyy!」
A known face joined me on the train. It was Cloche-san. It’s not on her at all, but honestly it’s the worst time to meet her. She’s a girl. Even for me, it’s hard to openly tell a girl that I haven’t really spoken to that I’m going to Milk Pudding near the central crossing. Girls spread news rather fast, so if I answered honestly there is a chance that girls the same age won’t talk to me anymore.
If she asks where I’m going, just reply with the station name and just improvise somehow.
Cloche「What are you doing at such a late time? Any plans? Going anywhere?」
Her pacing of chatting is fast as usual. She seems to know that I’m no longer limited to where I’m allowed to go; she doesn’t seem to question how I’m here. Because we cleared the dungeon quite soon we’re probably a rare case of being clueless. Usually people probably learn about the size of the city and the limited moving around during the empty time period between becoming an adventurer and debuting.
Tsuna 「Ah, I’m just going to the station in front of the central crossing.」
Cloche「Oh, then it’s the same stop as mine. That’s a coincidence. Are you meeting someone? There’s no place for newly debuted adventurers there. If it’s this times the only open shops will be the convenience stores.」
Oh I’m meeting a prostitute called Nina-chan at Milk Pudding! … I can’t say that. Shit, if I didn’t get lost I didn’t have to be in such an awkward position. I hate trains.
Tsuna「Err, yeah. Where are you going Kuro? It’s like midnight, right?」
Cloche「Me? I’m going back to my family home. The central crossing is the nearest station.」
Tsuna「Oh, oh. You live in quite a good area then. It’s the middle of the city right?」
The central crossing is the actual middle of the Labyrinth City. Sure they have brothels like Milk Pudding, but the land should be quite pricey. To compare with the royal capital, it’s probably like where the nobles lived. The dungeon master said there are no nobles in this city, but in this place, people probably have even better lives.
Cloche「I’ve just started my career as an adventurer, but my family home is rich. My older sister too. Do you want to come over, Tsuna-kun? My sister might be surprised since it is a bit sudden.」
~o~
Don’t just invite a boy over to your house like it’s nothing. It’s also your family home right? How are you going to introduce me?
Tsuna「A guy visiting so late is probably not really ideal. Even if it’s to meet Asya-san, I’ll choose a different time.」
