「I will just get up close and personal with it. 」

As soon as he said that, Lassic suddenly ran to the feet of the giant.

「Lord Lassic! 」

Natalia rushed forward, but Moreno grabbed her by the shoulder and held her back.

Troll threw up its hands like it was asking for help, and let out a roar that shook the walls of the hall. Its face was turned toward the ceiling, and a large amount of bluish-black blood poured out of his wide-open mouth, creating blood bubbles.

After sinking the blade close to his hilt, Lassic jumped back, leaving the sword in the troll’s body.

In the next moment, the troll slammed its arms, which had been raised, down with ferocious force. But Lassic wasn’t there, so it just smashed the stone floor. Then he seems to have run out of strength and fallen straight in front of him. The giant still moved his limbs for a while.

「Amazing! 」

Natalia’s expression brightened.

The soldiers who were anxiously watching the situation in the corridor erupted in loud cheers.

「Better stay away just in case… 」

Moreno calls out to Lassic.

「When the life of a Chaos monster is over, the projection will cease to exist in this world. Then it will return to the Chaos Core. Don’t get too close to it, or it might try to counterattack, right? 」

Lassic seems to think so too, and when he returned to Moreno, he folded his arms and looked at the troll as he finally stopped moving. As expected, his breathing was rough and he was sweating, but his expression didn’t change much from his usual one.

Before long, something like black smoke began to rise from the troll’s whole body. It swirled and began to morph into a shadow-like sphere. Chaos Core. It is a temporary materialization of the Chaos that fills this world.

Moreno smiled at Lassic.

「With this, all the Crests and territories of the Selvis royal family belong to Lord Lassic. 」

「Yes… 」

Lassic nodded in satisfaction.

「Let the whole land of Selvis know. I declare that the new leader of this country has been chosen. If anyone has any objections to it, let them raise those objections in battle. 」

「As long as they decide to obey me, I will not force anyone to follow me. But if they decide to oppose me, I will not hesitate to come for their Crest and their territories.

「Of course. 」

Moreno bowed respectfully.
