Return of the Fallen Volume 10 Chapter 127

As Nevius and his odd bunch were celebrating Arc was pestering Kazuki.

(Are you not going to ask already. We’ve already wasted minutes by coming here. If Nevius doesn’t help you, then this whole thing has become a waste.)

(For someone that has literally all the time in the universe, you sure are impatient.)

(You know it’s not impatience rather I’ve waited long enough and I deserve what’s mine. You of all people should understand that.)

(Understand it yes but from what I’ve seen no one deserves power just because they’ve waited for it, not you, nor I, no one.)

Arc buzzed with static.

(Is this a lecture, your boring me. You know as well as I do that this is taking more time than necessary. So can we stop with the pseudo dive into who deserves what and doesn’t? You know you don’t really care.)

Kazuki shrugged.

(Just trying to pass the time, no need to bite me.)

Arc went quiet as it was clearly done with this conversation.

(Right, and now the quiet mode.)

Kazuki shook his head before interrupting Nevius and his dancing family.

“Nevius, your matters are handled, now it’s my turn. Shall we move somewhere more convenient?”

Nevius stopped dancing and nodded.

“Right right sorry. I still owe you. Follow me and we can discuss this in a more private setting.”

Trilia stopped dancing and grabbed Nevius around his head.

“Trying to run away so soon my dear Ash. I don’t think so. Besides, for what reason is there to speak in private when you already told us everything already.”

Trilia winked at Kazuki.

“I heard you have been having some issues with your soul.”

Kazuki glared at Nevius but Nevius had no excuses.

“Sorry Kazuki, my wife just knows how to get things from me.”

“Kazuki, don’t blame my sensitive husband, he’s never been able to resist my irresistible charm and teasing. What he knows, naturally I would also come to know as well. Plus, your matters are nothing to be moody about. As a matter of fact, you can count yourself lucky that I am here now. My husband is skilled but my abilities are far greater than his. Your issues, I will be able to handle them in a much more efficient manner, hehe.”

Kazuki looked at Trilia and sighed inwardly.

“You have charm, really I didn’t notice. At what point in time will you be bringing this so-called charm out for us to see?”

Arc was laughing inwardly and sparks of static circled around Kazuki’s hand. This though wasn’t harmful and was more like a cheer from Arc instead.

Nara as well began to laugh.

“Mother, Kazuki sure knows what to say to cut. Kazuki, do father next, hurry hurry!”

Nevius was embarrassed but said nothing and Trilia who should have taken offense to this burst out laughing along with her daughter.

*Bwahahaha*

“This Kazuki is unlike other men I’ve met and dealt with. Usually, they resort to violence, on occasion they can give it back in tongue but for the most part, they just resort to calling me a whore or a bitch. You though can turn a word back, I like you.”

Kazuki was starting to wonder if helping to bring back Trilia was a mistake. The moment he thought this Trilia chuckled once more.

“Heh, just now you wondered if bringing me back was a mistake, hehe, I knew it, you are different in many ways.”

Kazuki and Arc were both surprised.

“Woman, are you reading my thoughts?”

Trilia shook her head.

“Not your thoughts but your soul. I told you my abilities are greater than my husbands, at least when it comes to things pertaining to the soul. If I wasn’t at least this good me and my daughter would have been destroyed long ago. Having an ability that can show me the intentions or at least give me an accurate reading of someone’s intent and soul, I can pretty much guess ones thoughts. Because of this, I have avoided evil doers many a time. You who has a pretty honest soul it’s not hard to guess what you are to see many things about you.”

“Nevius, are Trilia’s words the truth, is she better than you?”

Nevius nodded.

“She’s not lying. My wife is excellent when it comes to matters dealing with the soul. Even among druids, she is only part druid like me but she has a vastly deeper understanding of souls than most.”

“Kazuki, is there a need to ask my husband? It’s almost as if you don’t trust me, aww, this saddens me.”

Trilia said all of this with a smile. Obviously, she was unaffected. The longer the conversation drug on, the more Kazuki was feeling exhausted.

“Kazuki if it really worries you, I will still help you with your soul. I understand my wife is quite bold, she also could probably use some time adjusting and

*Thud*

A fresh ass elbow ripped into Nevius’s side, knocking him back.

“Ignore my husband’s ignorant words, now come come, let me take a look. I promise I won’t bite.”

Kazuki was just going to ignore her. She was too odd and how could he just trust her but then he noticed the Artifacts around the world were still calm and collected. They would attack anything that meant harm toward Nevius but Trilia had already attacked him several times with an elbow to the ribs. These Artifacts did not gang up on her and try and attack her.

Did this not mean she had no ill intent in general or no ill intent toward Nevius, Kazuki wasn’t quite sure but then Arc chimed in.

(Why not trust her?)

(What, why would you even suggest it?)

(Why not? Nevius does. If you trust him wh not her. He’s already given his approval, granted he seemed like he was about to take it back but if worse comes to worst I can simply destroy all of them if they mean to harm you. If her powers are really as well developed as Nevius and Trilia say, it could work in our favor and we could get your soul repaired that much quicker. I see no downside.)

(You see no downside. The last time I listened to Nevius, my rage for Sephra was banished as if it were never there in the first place. Even now I can still see and remember what she has done to me and others so vividly but my hatred is no more than numbness now. Something about me fundamentally changed in an instant. The way you speak of it is like it’s nothing more than taking a dip in a warm bath, ad I find that quite cold of you.)

Arc saw Kazuki’s point but felt Kazuki was making a big deal out of nothing.

(You no longer have an enemy as a result of Nevius’s help. Your problem is literally, that you have no problem. You have no hatred for Sephra, so what. She is in a place trapped by your grandfather for eternity. She is an existence that no longer matters. Yes, Nevius taking that choice from you was wrong but are you worse off now than before. Has your power not grown tremendously. Your magic is now comparable to both Alutra’s and Lins and in many regards your magic surpasses theirs. They who are Demigods and have entered Divine enlightenment and have fully mastered an element of magic and yet you surpass them. Your body is something that none can harm in this Realm and your aura can destroy everything you wish. You can sense hundreds of solar systems all at once and can be anywhere at any time. You have those that love and cherish you and friends who admire you. You have a freedom and power above all others and yet you complain, are scared of what exactly?)

(Aren’t you just saying all of this so that I will help you find your missing piece. If I don’t become a Demigod I can never enter a Higher Realm without another powerful being’s help. You need me to grow stronger and this is the only way it seems. Aren’t you just using me to achieve your own goals?)

(Of course, I’m using you.)

(No hesitation huh?)

(That’s pointless. I’m using you just as you are using me. I will help you with your granny master as well as getting you and your people to Earth and back. There is no mystery as to what is between us. Mutual help and opportunity. I solve your problems and you solve mine. There is no guilt or ill feelings on my end. So get your shit together…please.)

(You sure know how to butter me up huh.)

Kazuki was quiet for a moment before sighing.

*Haa*

“Trilia, before I agree to anything, what are the downsides. There aren’t any live reversing choices I need to know about or other detriments that will impact me are there.”

Kazuki had to agree that Arc wasn’t off in his assessment. Plus Arc already said it would destroy trilia and the others if there was any harm. This eased Kazuki slightly but he still needed to know what he was getting himself into before anything else.
