Return of the Fallen Volume 10 Chapter 14
After moving many people from the dark continent to Feya, Kazuki raised a hand. His eyes glowing. One with emerald green light and the other a saphire blue, clouds gathered all over the planet and the gordonian element fused with water created a powerful healing effect that rained down around the world.
After the war, there were so many left injured. Not just people but animals, plants, and so on. With Kazuki’s power, he healed everyone still wounded. Even though he wasn’t the full cause of these injuries, he did contribute to mass harm. During his fight with Fera, he had used a light that blinded any that looked at it and he had also created a magic tool that amplified noise to such a degree that he deafened anyone who heard it.
His fight with Fera had devastated the living and he felt responsible. Besides, he felt like he would be a real dick if he just sat back and did nothing. Helping to heal everyone was so simple and took barely any power, to not do it would be kind of fucked up.
As this healing rain fell, people were shocked to find their wounds healing in seconds. Broken bones were being set and healing in rapid succession. Gashes and cuts sealed themselves and stopped bleeding. Burns fell away as if they were melting as new clean flesh and skin regrew anew. Sight was returned to those without it and even those who had been blind before the war itself were cured. Those crippled were now reborn in a sense.
People fell to their knees in worship. They didn’t pray to Kazuki because they didn’t know. Instead, they prayed to the gods themselves. Kazuki didn’t mind this, as being praised like that would make his skin crawl.
With the hidden experts submitting, the remaining Azirian’s dealt with, people moved to Feya and everyone healed, Kazuki was just about done. Later on, he would still need to deal with the other experts scattered around this Lower Realm just in case to prevent future trouble. In the meantime, it was time to get some new bodies.
Kazuki took a single step forward and he moved with a speed nearly equal to teleporting. He had to use some of his magic to protect the world as he moved, otherwise with his current speed this simple step through the sky would have vaporized the air in his path and ripped a hole in the sky itself.
Kazuki had arrived above a certain city. The moment he arrived a loud scream erupted from above him.
“KAZUKIIIIII!”
Kazuki didn’t have to even see who it was to know that cute voice but he took a lookup anyway.
A dark shadow loomed above it was a large bird. The moment Kazuki looked up, the large bird dove straight down at him. Kazuki smiled seeing this. Just before the bird crashed into him, it transformed into a small girl with a plain dress. Those same cute little cheeks and big doe-like eyes. Mei dove into Kazuki’s arms while shouting once again.
“KAZUKIII!”
Kazuki caught Mei and hugged her.
“Mei Mei, playing in the skies like always I see.”
Kazuki gave her a teasing smile and Mei looked up at him with a pout.
“Mei wasn’t playing. I was using my power to sense for other injured people but then this weird rain came down and started healing everybody in an instant. Wait a second. Big bro was that you?”
Kazuki nodded.
“You could tell?”
Mei nodded.
“Big bro Danny said that you got super super powerful. Only big bro Kazuki could do something like this.”
“Speaking of which, I need to have a chat with Danny.”
“Oh, is it about big sis’s new bodies.”
“Hmm, you already know.”
Mei nodded proudly.
“Of course, Mei is big so Danny can’t hide stuff from me anymore.”
“More like she started to cry when she found out Asuna and Nunully died. The little imp bawled her eyes out until Danny told her what was going on.”
A tall figure spoke in the distance and flew over. Bozek stood in the air in front of Kazuki and nodded.
“You actually managed to do it. Incredible. To survive against all of those odds, you have shown me, no you have shown the worlds something unimaginable.”
Kazuki nodded back but before he could say anything Mei defended herself.
“I…I didn’t cry!!…much.”
Bozek chuckled. Kazuki was slightly surprised. From what he knew, the man before him had a reputation of being stern but here he was teasing Mei. Kazuki couldn’t blame him though, Mei had that effect on people.
“Didn’t cry much you say, you were so loud you scared the neighbor’s chickens half to death. Any more and you would have finished them off, hehe.”
Mei and Bozek started arguing back and forth but it was more playful than anything. It was at this time that Danny flew up as well.
“Kazuki, you returned faster than I anticipated. So the person who took you and Fera away, they had some form of relationship or connection to you or Fera.”
Kazuki wasn’t surprised by Danny’s deduction.
“Just like always you already figured a few things out. Yes, it turns out the one observing me through my compass was actually my grandfather.”
Kazuki’s words stopped here. Danny took notice of not only his pause but the fact that he was no longer wearing the compass that held sentimental value to him, Danny understood something wasn’t right and changed the subject.
“And Fera, what of her?”
To this, Kazuki couldn’t help but smile.
“She’s no more.”
Danny nodded.
“Good. Since you are here, it means you’ve dealt with everything else, is it time to get Asuna and Nunully a body?”
Kazuki nodded and then eyed Danny.
“Not just them.”
Hearing this, Danny put it together and his gem-like eyes brightened dramatically.
“M…me too?”
Kazuki shrugged.
“If you want it. I know having that body has been very convenient during all the bullshit but now that things are cooling off, you don’t need it anymore. Besides, by now you’ve got to be missing the taste of food, and the taste of other things…Tsura is still within Glacious’s tiny world. I’m the only one who can access that world so they have just been stuck there this entire time. I’d think about what a shock she would receive if the first thing she sees when I open that place is your face in the flesh.”
Danny’s metallic body trembled in this moment. His soul shook at the thought of seeing Tsura once more. Holding her tight with real hands, kissing her with real lips. Danny didn’t hesitate.
“What are we waiting for, let’s depart immediately.”
Kazuki chuckled inwardly before creating a rift in front of them. Just before he was about to step through, Danny remembered.
“Wait, there is one thing though.”
“Hmm.”
“Right after you left, I was going to explain the entire situation to everyone but they misunderstood and left before I could get a word in. They think you don’t care about the fact that Nunully and Asuna are dead. When Fera threw them into the lightning and they died, they all saw you not saving them and instead of going for Fera. They think you gave up on the ones you love and instead went straight for revenge. I tried to tell them you told Asuna and Nunully the plan and they accepted it but they just stormed off and left. What should we do.”
Kazuki thought for a moment before laughing once again.
*Hahaha*
“Maybe we should mess with them a little. Seeing Tsura’s face when you show up would already be priceless but I wonder what everyone else’s faces would look like when we show up and both Asuna and Nunully are alive and well. That would be entertaining.”
Nunully immediately vetoed the idea but Asuna was slightly interested and thought it would be fun.
(Asuna, you can’t be serious. How can we be so cruel to all of our friends who already think were dead? Teasing them like that isn’t that messed up?)
Asuna disagreed.
(When will we get a chance to do something like this again. Not only that but afterward they will be extremely happy by the fact that were alive. Besides, don’t you think their behavior is kind of out of line.)
(What do you mean?)
(Don’t you see. They just blew Danny off when he clearly could have told them what was up but they just wouldn’t listen. They think Kazuki really would just let us die and remain that way. Sure they don’t know the full extent of Kazuki’s power but the way they acted, it’s like they didn’t trust his judgment. All the times he’s saved all of us, all the time he had a crazy plan and pulled it off but they didn’t believe in him on this one. We were willing to allow our bodies to be destroyed because Kazuki told us there was a way to get new bodies. Even if there wasn’t though, I still would have sacrificed my life if I knew it gave us a chance to kill Fera once and for all.)
…
After a moment of silence, Nunully called out.
(Kazuki, I think Asuna convinced me. I get them not believing when they saw Fera throw us into the lightning and we died but not listening to Danny afterward. After everything we have been through they should of at least heard him out. Ok, let’s mess with them a little.)
Nunully and Asuna both giggled diabolically, causing a chill to run up his spine.
(You two are bad influences on each other.)
This little comment only made the two crack up and laugh even harder.
