Return of the Fallen Volume 10 Chapter 3
“So my grandchildren have finally arrived. Took you long enough.”
A young-looking man sat on a throne made up nearly entirely of large and small bones and spikes. These were obviously from many different creatures, none of which Kazuki could identify except for one. At the edge of one side of the throne, there was the skull of a dragon lodged inside.
Not only were there many different creature’s bones that Kazuki couldn’t identify but from where he stood he could clearly feel remnants of power leaking from several different bones. The power coming from these bones shocked him as each one contained more power than he ever had.
(Those bones come from creatures much more powerful than I or Fera. I’m standing here but the feeling I’m getting from some of those bones is immense danger. If I were to take a few steps closer, it feels like my body would be crushed.)
After the man spoke his voice covered the entire throne room. The moment he mentioned grandchildren, dozens upon dozens of eyes fell upon both Fera’s soul and Kazuki. Suddenly Kazuki felt many auras flow around him and inspect his body. Kazuki found he was powerless to resist. Just as a few wanted to inspect his soul world, the man sitting on the odd-looking throne grunted.
*Hmph*
All at once the powers that be retreated from both Kazuki and Fera.
“Did I say anyone was allowed to take an inner look? Has my rule become slack lately?”
After saying this power began to rise around this man and everyone in the room shuddered, well everyone except Daisius who stood directly next to the man on the throne.
Kazuki’s aunt stepped forward with a smile.
“Father, aren’t you being rash right now? After all, everyone’s curious about what uncle Daisius was told to bring up here. For you to just mention these two by me are your grandchildren, of course, everyone’s interest is piqued.”
The man sitting on the throne leaned back slightly and laughed.
*Heh*
“Alutra my daughter, are you calling me mean, hehe. One day you will understand…or rather you may not since you will not be inheriting my throne. Sometimes one needs to flex their power so others know where they stand. A little curiosity becomes more and more over time and people think they can get away with anything. Today though, I see no reason to push things further. After all, today should be one of celebration seeing as my grandchildren have finally arrived home. I see no reason to punish those who are…curious. That is as long as they understand not to cross what must not be crossed and keep their eyes in their fucking heads.”
Several people couldn’t help but swallow hard and many didn’t dare even look in Kazuki and Fera’s direction afterward. Alutra as well put on a false smile as she nodded along.
“You two…come closer.”
The moment the young-looking man said this, he curled his finger and both Kazuki and Fera felt a domineering power wrap around the both of them and drag them forward. Kazuki’s fear level went to a thousand as he was pulled forward so quickly it felt as if his spine would snap in half. NOt only that but the power leaking from the bones just as he thought began to crush him.
Just before this strange power actually did though, the young-looking man sent out his own wave of power that protected both Kazuki and Fera. In an instant, the both of them were pulled directly to the front. Kazuki had noticed it before but seeing the man sitting on the throne as well as Daisius standing at his side, the two looked incredibly similar. The only real difference Kazuki could notice was that the man on the throne appeared incredibly young, almost as if he were around Kauzki’s age. Obviously, this man was not that young seeing as how he was a God but one could not look at him and say he was old.
“Fera you already know me. You remember my face right? I met you once when you were a young child.”
Fera was nervous but she answered right away.
(Grandfather, I remember very little but mother spoke of you a few times. She said you were a true God to be feared. Ruler of hundreds of worlds in this Higher Realm. Your strength and power has given you a loyal following of 10’s of thousands of Gods and 10’s of millions of DemiGods. When it comes to this part of the galaxy you ha
“Enough! Your mother of course only mentioned the material. Did she not say anything of my personality?”
The young man seemed annoyed right away and Fera’s soul shuddered.
(n…No. Mother did not mention much. You were highly revered but other than that…)
“Fera, you’ve only spoken so few words and yet you already lie to me your grandfather. Sephra has no respect for anyone, especially not for me. What about your father, he mentioned something to you about me, right?”
Fera felt fear and chose not to lie for fear that something may really happen to her.
(Father…He never spoke of you.)
When she said this, murmurs spread across the throne room and their grandfather sighed.
*Haa*
“Lin you stubburn…”
His words trailed off from there. Shaking his head, the man looked at Kazuki but didn’t even bother to ask him. Instead, the young-looking man introduced himself.
“Fera, Kazuki I as you have heard am your grandfather. My name is Orberus. Next to me you two have already met my younger brother Daisius and among the small crowd here are many of your other aunt’s uncles and cousins, along with a few other important people. I’m sure you are both wondering why I have brought you up here after all of this time. Ah, before that though I’m sure you two would like to see something interesting.”
(These people around me are my family?)
Kazuki didn’t know how to feel about that.
(Kazuki are you ok?)
Nunully was still worried.
(I’m…I think so.)
Asuna though wasn’t having it.
(So these people are supposed to be your relatives, yet where were they during all the shit you went through. If these people are all Demigods or Gods and whatnot, doesn’t that mean they could have put a stop to Fera long ago? Kazuki these people are not your family, they are all bastards in my eyes.)
(Asuna that’s too harsh. These people are still his family even if…)
Nunully couldn’t finish that thought. She was supposed to be more compassionate but thinking about it, even her anger was rising. She found Asuna’s words to be true. What kind of family abandons you and allows everything that happened to Kazuki to happen.
(Nunully you know what I’m saying is right, that’s why you went silent. These people have all of this power and didn’t stop anything, to me, they are just as bad as Fera and her mother and throw Torzz in there as well. They all can suck a dick.)
(Your right. Kazuki no matter what happens you mustn’t trust any of these people. Especially your grandfather. He’s the one in charge and it only took a few words from him to get Daisius to step in and stop things. Doesn’t this mean he could have done it long ago and just didn’t? For him to bring you here after all of that, this man probably wants something from you.)
Kazuki couldn’t possibly imagine what a God could want from him but he couldn’t doubt Nunully’s words. Everything about this whole affair was weird and suspicious.
(Thank you, both of you. All of this was a lot to take in but things aren’t adding up. Not only did he wait this long to bring me up here but he also prevented me from finishing off Fera. That alone is enough to enrage me. Even if this man is my grandfather, he’d better have the best fucking excuse in the world for stopping me. Especially when Fera has nearly killed me multiple times, where was he then.)
Orberus snapped his fingers and a door on both the left side of the throne room and a door on the right opened simultaneously. With it, a few large guards walked in, dragging behind them were two people a man and a woman.
The moment these two people were dragged into the room from opposite sides, Kazuki’s brain went blank for a moment. From the right side, the woman who faked her love for him for more than a decade, the woman betrayed him and broke him, who killed his brother, the woman who stole his core and caused the death of his granny master back on Earth. This very same woman, his most hated enemy walked into the throne room.
“SEPHRAAAAAAAAAA!!!!”
Kazuki’s mind lost all reason momentarily and he charged at Sephra as fast as possible but before he could move even a single foot, thousands of inscriptions lit up along the walls and floors and magical chains shot out from the many pillars and wrapped around Kauzki’s limbs restricting him completely.
