Return of the Fallen Volume 10 Chapter 44
“In the end all he wanted was time.”
Both Kazuki and Alutra were confused.
“He wanted time? So for this Shiku tree, he wanted you to use your magic, that is odd.”
Detra agreed.
“He never told me what it was for and I didn’t ask so it ended there. That person, he seemed…sad.”
Detra was lost in thought for a moment. Only now did the man’s expression seem familiar to her own. She had that same sad look many a time. Whenever she longed for her husband, she would become melancholic.
“Anyway, enough about that person. The tree, I have no clue where it comes from and only got a single small plant from that fellow so I don’t think you’ll be getting one for your world Kazuki.”
Kazuki shrugged.
“It doesn’t matter. Though the Shiku tree is interesting, it’s not necessary to sustain my world. As long as the ecosystem is balanced and there is magic flowing, my world will hold.”
Kazuki spoke up to here when the last of the flowers, trees, and other plants and small creatures came through his rift. His magic flowed through the entirety of this place as everything took root. Kazuki arranged the plants in a specific order and very quickly all of the flowers became like a living painting.
Looking at it, both Alutra and Detra could appreciate it.
The flowers spread out for thousands of miles and the arrangement made three images. One was of a large dragon soaring through the clouds a being above all. The second image was of a large wolf eating a grand feast. Finally, the last image was of an older woman sitting at a table enjoying a dark drink. These images the flowers made were of course of Glacious, Etora, and old Tilly.
A small gentle breeze brushed against Kazuki’s face. As he looked over the world, he couldn’t help but smile.
“Kazuki now that this world is completed, when are you going to show everyone.”
Alutra smiled as she hooked an arm around Kauzki’s and Detra’s. Detra felt slightly embarrassed but she got swept up into Alutra’s mood and went with the flow.
“I guess now.”
Kazuki cleared a small portion of the ground making it as flat as possible. After that, he materialized some god metal and created a teleportation gate. This gate was different from a simple magic circle on the ground. This one rose up from the ground creating an arc of metal. Millions of inscriptions were carved within it with a simple thought from Kazuki. At the same time, Kazuki opened a rift and built another one inside of Glacious’s tiny world.
With a wave of his hand, Kazuki created two crystals that could contain his power and had a massive capacity. Very quickly these two crystals were filled with his magical energy before they were embedded into the top of both gates. The moment these crystals were placed in the arc gates, the inscriptions lit up with blinding light before the light quickly faded. A thin barrier formed around the crystal to protect it. Now, no being below the 7th stage could remove it from the gate. Not only that the energy within would protect the crystal and the gate itself from harm but only up to a point. after the energy ran out, of course, the gate would fail and the crystal would break.
“This gate will allow anyone I give permission to travel between my world and Glacious’s.”
Detra nodded before inspecting the crystal Kazuki had implanted in the arc gate. She could feel a strong power within.
“Kazuki, I’ve never seen this crystal before, where did you get it?”
Kazuki shrugged.
“I just made it.”
Detra was taken aback.
“You just made it. This crystal is…a new creation!?”
“I don’t know about that. There are too many Realms to claim that this is a new creation. In this Realm though, you could say that.”
Detra again was at a loss.
“How, did you just come up with this out of nowhere? Why are you not shocked by this?”
Kazuki himself didn’t see the big deal.
“It just came to me. Ever since fighting Fera and growing so quickly, strange and interesting ideas have continuously been coming to me. It’s like I’m on the verge of discovering something but I can’t quite grasp it or hold on to it long enough to determine what it is. It’s hard to explain.”
Alutra heard this and became excited.
“Divine enlightenment.”
Kazuki and Detra both turned to Alutra.
“What your speaking of Kazuki is Divine enlightenment. Divine enlightenment is when you begin to tap into the natural laws of the universe. The natural laws consist of the 8 elements of course and beyond. Fire, stone, water, wind, light, dark, space, and time. When one’s soul reaches the point where one can touch upon the natural laws of the universe they begin to reveal their true states little by little. Meaning their truths. This can give you knowledge beyond your wildest dreams and deepen your understanding of reality. The more you understand the natural laws, the more you understand magic itself. This is how you were able to create something new and unheard of in this Realm. What’s surprising to me is that you managed to do this while still in the 7th stage.”
“Why is that surprising?”
“Nephew, of course, this is surprising. Only when one is a Demigod will they begin to have the opportunity to reach Divine Enlightenment and never before. Even when one becomes a Demigod, there is no guarantee of ever becoming enlightened for their entire immortal life, that is how incredible this is. Only when one reaches Divine Enlightenment and they truly master their elements can they then begin to ascend to the next stage…A God.”
Detra looked at Kazuki as if she were stunned.
“Kazuki has that much talent. He…He will become a God. A one true God!”
Alutra shook her head.
“There is never a guarantee when it comes to becoming a God but Kazuki at least has the potential. It seems we are related by blood after all, hehe.”
Kazuki himself was lost for a moment as many possibilities began to reveal themself before him.
(If I became a God, would I not be able to finish my revenge. It can’t e so simple, it can’t be this easy, can it?)
“Alutra, how does one reach Divine Enlightenment?”
Alutra thought for a moment before shaking her head.
“It’s different for everyone and there is no one answer. When I became enlightened it was after staring at several of father’s paintings hanging in the many halls. Each of those paintings holds many secrets and many natural laws within. At some point, while staring at one of these paintings, my soul was stolen from my body and ended up inside of the painting where I was trapped for a long time. The only way out was to understand the natural law within.”
Alutra held up a hand and a ball of golden flames materialized hovering above her palm. The moment this flame appeared both Kazuki and Detra instinctively took a step back. The heat from this golden flame was intense and the two felt a searing pain on their skin. Both were shocked by this. Detra was a Titan and her body was formed from the elements. If she did not wish to feel pain she did not have to but this flame bypassed and surpassed all of her magic at once and actually harmed both her magical body as well as her soul.
Kazuki as well had reached a level where his body was so tough he could face the collapse of this entire Realm and still come out fine but before this flame, he felt pain on both his flesh as well as in his soul.
Alutra quickly pulled her power from the golden flame until only a fraction of her power remained. Even after that, she covered it with her aura, reducing its power further.
“That law of course was both fire and light. Mastering the two, I can easily fuse them together, creating magic strong enough to destroy this entire Realm with ease. Understanding a natural law can give one such power that even those at the same level can not stand up to it. Those that have understood a natural law and those that have not, the difference between the two is like the difference between the sky and the ground.”
Kazuki was shocked. He too was capable of fusing magic but Alutra’s was just too damn different. He could feel that his strength clearly surpassed Alutra’s but his magic was beyond lacking. Kazuki felt something inside grow as he yearned for this power.
After seeing her flame for only a moment, Kazuki once again felt that tiny spark as if he was on the verge of grasping something but the moment Alutra pulled back her power, that thought slipped away like sand through his fingers.
“That’s how I reached Divine Enlightenment but I also heard of other people doing other things to reach this point. One of my cousins was swallowed whole inside of a Basilisk before she reached it and there was another who was simply swimming in an endless ocean of darkness. One stood their ground and was bathed under the flames of a dragon and another read millions of books while another sat and meditated for well over a million years.”
Kazuki’s ears suddenly perked up.
“Wait, what did you just say!?”
