Return of the Fallen Volume 10 Chapter 85

Every day was a feast. Though no one actually needed to consume food anymore in order to live, still, eating and enjoying the delicious flavors and textures was too much of a joy to simply let go. After all, everyone there had eaten food their entire lives, suddenly stopping now just because you have attained a newfound power and body, it made no sense to just give food up.

Not only did everyone eat but due to Tsura’s talents when it came to cooking, and with her own prowess getting turned up a notch. The amount of food that came out of the kitchen could feed thousands of people. The three Ancient beasts could eat even more if they were in their beast forms and Mei could eat more than even them. The little furball monkey Kosaru was also a voracious eater and could pack in almost as much as Mei. Those five were already in their own world when it came to appetite but higher than them was Kazuki.

With just food, his body could burn through it all in an instant. Whether it be alcohol or poison, his body would go through like blazing fire and come out the other side with no harm. He could eat through a mountain if he wanted to and this was before activating the devouring spinning void within.

Kazuki had expanded the kitchen in such a way that Tsura could produce a continuous amount of food that could practically feed a small army. Since Tsura was so passionate about cooking, Kazuki shared some of his memories with her when it came to cooking. He had lived on Earth for a while and had traveled the globe many times over in search of a way back home. In doing so he was very familiar with a vast variety of recipes from many different cultures and regions.

When Tsura received all of this information, her eyes lit up with excitement and she began to try many recipes without stopping. Of course, there were plenty of things she could not reproduce or copy exactly seeing as how some ingredients simply did not exist in this world so instead, she improvised, creating brand new recipes of her own.

Plates of many different types of never before seen food appeared one after another on the table. Everyone, Kazuki included was curious about these never before seen recipes and didn’t hesitate to dive in. They were not disappointed. Rich deep flavors danced along their tongues and played with their tastebuds.

Sweet, savory, spicy, sour, and tangy. You name it, Tsura could do it. This left every meal interesting, to say the least.

For some reason, whether it was a coincidence that they were eating when this happened or that they just so happen to eat a lot as of late, something deep in space began to move. Alutra felt it immediately and so to did little Kosaru. Kazuki a fraction of a second later followed directly by Detra.

“Kazuki!”

Kazuki nodded knowingly to Alutra’s call.

“I got it. Everyone, more fools have come.”

Shaila slammed her fists down upon the table in anger.

“Why is it every time we eat! Fine, let us show these bastards what happens when you disturb our meal.”

Shin started to get excited and laughed while Sam nodded in silence.

Kazuki opened a rift and everyone rushed through it.

The moment they arrived they all saw two creatures with vicious looks.
One looked like a large mantis with three heads and the other a large humanoid-looking man with horns and a pair of thin almost see-through wings attached to his back.

The insect-looking being tilted its head and tried to say something through its mind but the only noises that came into everyone’s minds were weird chirping like noises. No one could understand the creature nor did they care what it was trying to communicate. The act of entering another’s Realm could already be said to be an act of aggression. There was no actual rule of course but if you wanted to enter someone else’s home should you not greet them first.

The insect-like creature and the demonic humanish being stopped trying to communicate after the very first try and immediately drew some strange weapons.

Kazuki did even need to say anything to the others. The moment these weapons were drawn, a fight was the only outcome from here. Everyone moved without talking and surrounded these two invaders without a moment’s notice. Danny and Shin were on the complete opposite side while Alutra took the front position ready to strike. Kazuki stood at Alutra’s left side and everyone else was scattered in groups of two or three all around.

No words had to be exchanged and everyone knew what was about to happen. Rather they all thought they knew. The moment the invaders made a move and so to did Kazuki and everyone else, two beams of golden light struck down like the hands of God and trapped the two invaders instantly.

Everyone was shocked besides Kazuki and Alutra. The two knew this energy all too well.

(Orberus. It seems the time has come.)

With the two enemies completely immobilized inside the golden beams of light, Kazuki made his move. He rushed forward and arrived in front of the two almost instantly. His aura folded just over two thousand times and its shape turned into something akin to a spear before it split into two spears and struck forth without delay.

The beams of light should have easily been able to stop Kauzki’s aura but as if they knew it was him, two holes opened up just wide enough to allow his aura to penetrate through. The beings trapped inside the light were dumbfounded but only for a fraction of a second before Kauzki’s condensed aura entered their soul worlds and pierced directly into their soul trees. Kazuki held back some with this attack and only damaged their souls up to a certain point.

Kazuki’s spinning void activated and he devoured both their bodies along with any power remaining within them and their damaged souls. Kazuki could feel his strength and body grow fractionally more powerful and tougher. With their souls eaten, Kazuki’s soul, magic, and ki grew stronger, purer, and denser. Afterward, with the two dead, Kazuki opened his hand and both of their storage rings flew into his grasp and vanished into his own ring.

Had he not damaged their souls beforehand and he tried to devour them. It could have been he who suffered soul damage had they been able to fight back inside of his soul world as he was devouring them. Weakening their souls was the only way if he wanted to devour them. This though was not something that would normally happen as his enemies would rather self destruct their cores rather than have something as sacred as their souls being eaten.

The moment the two enemies were no more, a heavy voice fell from one of the Higher Realms.

“Daughter, Grandson, it seems you both are doing well so far.”

Through his dominant power, Orberus’s voice could be heard in the silent depths of space.

When everyone heard Orberus’s voice, they all felt their souls shake. This was true power. This was a true being of a Higher Realm. A being that could crush them with just his voice and decimate the entire Realm they occupied. This was a God!

To this deep domineering voice though, both Alutra and Kazuki were cold toward it.

Alutra held her mighty glaive tightly in her grip. Golden flames swirled around her weapon as she clenched her jaw in frustration and anger.

(I WILL NOT GO BACK!)

Kazuki flew in front of her.

(Alutra, he’s not here for you. Right Orberus? You’ve come to finish our bargain correct!?)

A strange silence lingered for a moment before Orberus spoke once again.

“How cold. Alutra, my precious daughter, did you really hate me all along, how that saddens me, hahaha. As for you my grandson, do I really get no thanks after I just helped you with those little insects.”

Kazuki shook his head.

(As far as I’m concerned You only saved me some time. Their death would have come swiftly and at most, you saved me a second or two. That could be said to have not helped at all when you think about it. So no, you didn’t help, you just got in the way really.)

Everyone was stunned hearing the way Kazuki spoke to a literal God. Orberus on the other hand only laughed.

*BWahahahaha*

“Still an asshole, just like me hehe. I’m in too far of a good mood to let your poisonous tongue ruin my mood. After receiving your gift, my powers have already grown. You, my grandson, are the greatest gift I’ve ever helped create. Since I’m feeling so fresh, I’ll ask again, do you want to join me. With your talent, and my excellence, the power we can forge together, the things we can conquer, how much fun would that be?”

Kazuki’s voice dropped and he became even colder, ignoring his grandfather’s question entirely.

(LIN! WHERE IS LIN!? ENOUGH WITH THE ROUNDABOUT. ARE YOU GOING TO FULFILL YOUR END OF THE DEAL OR CAN I RELY ON YOUR HOSPITABLE WAYS LIKE ALWAYS?)

Once again a strange silence filled the already deep silence of space before Kazuki, Detra, and Alutra all sensed something happening all over the Lower Realm.

All at once, millions of explosions rippled outward all over the Lower Realm. Alutra and Detra had no idea what was going on but Kazuki informed them about part of the deal. Orberus had many ways to observe this Lower Realm. Most remained unused as Kazuki had remained on Gordonia the majority of the time. Still, if Orberus was so inclined, it would not be hard for him to make these devices observe Kazuki.

After the explosions finished, one of the golden beams of light changed. It wavered momentarily before becoming hazy. The very next second, someone appeared within the golden beam. When Kazuki and Alutra saw this person, they both called out in excitement.

(Brother!)
(Father!)
