Return of the Fallen Volume 11 Chapter 117

Mei’s anger rose up and exploded outward.

“DON’T CALL ME LITTLE!!!!”

Her aura folded several times and shot forward, slamming directly into Kazuki’s chest. The body Kazuki had created in this small world was made up of magma and rock. It was a weak form but he could still use it to crush Mei and Kosaru. When he took this hit to the chest, a large gaping hole appeared and one could see out to the other side.

Kazuki smiled when this hole appeared.

“Good. That anger…Use it.”

Mei roared at Kazuki.

“SHUT UP!”

Her aura went from four layers to 12 and then 16 as she threw all of her hatred and rage at Kazuki. Not just her but Kosaru as well felt something snap within him and he attacked Kazuki with his all.

Kazuki’s artificial body began to crumble as the two children became relentless and attacked him continuously. After a few minutes, his fake body crumbled completely and was reduced to rubble and a puddle of bubbling magma.

Mei and Kosaru finally stopped and huffed and puffed as they tried to catch their breath.

“Good. That was very good.”

A new artificial body formed right in front of them. The moment he appeared in front of the kids, they immediately tried to attack him again. Kazuki did not stop them and allowed the two to attack him repeatedly.

(I seemed to have sparked something within them. That’s fine by me. Let it all out. let the anger and frustration, let the sadness and empty feeling flow from your fists and souls.)

Even though both of them were angry at Kazuki, Mei and Kosaru couldn’t help but cry as they continued to fight him. Just as he thought, it wasn’t just rage that poured out but a mix of emotions. Everything they had been holding back and bearing it. It all came out at this time.

For Kazuki, this type of training served multiple purposes. One of which was to get them used to fighting and mastering their aura. Another part was to let themselves grieve properly in their own way. Kazuki realized a while ago that he did not deal with his grief in the best of ways and because of that it left scars on his soul. The reason he had multiple injuries to his soul was due to burying everything and letting only revenge be his guiding flame.

In order to help the children heal their souls, they needed to let out all of this emotion. As they did, Kazuki used his soul-reading ability to help heal their damaged souls.

Again and again, they destroyed Kazuki’s artificial body and again he would make a new one and allow them to release everything. In doing so, the damaged pieces in their soul were repaired and their control over their aura increased greatly.

After well over an hour, Mei and Kosaru had burnt themselves out and used up every ounce of strength and power until the two collapsed in front of him.

Kazuki sighed seeing their exhausted expressions but at the same time, there was a hint of peace.

Taking them out of the tiny world, once again Kazuki put them to bed.

(Are you sure that is the right call? Making them pissed at you, how does that help you in the long run?)

(Arc, you don’t understand people. We tend to bottle things up until it nearly kills us. The kids, they needed this. If you could see the soul the way I can see it, sense it, feel it, you would know they have made significant progress. More so than most wise adults would in many decades. The damage to their souls is now healed. At the rate they are going, they could become Demigods before I do.)

(Seriously?)

(Yes. They only need to master their respective elements and then undergo soul transformation and then they can enter the next stage. Since the elements they need to master are something I can share with them, that one is basically considered done already. After that is the soul transformation, which, I can help them with as well but I can’t get them through it fully. The final step to complete a soul transformation, that they will need to do themselves.)

(Can’t you do it for them?)

(If it were that simple I would gladly help them through it but it just isn’t. The power of their souls must increase drastically. I have my own methods such as absorbing souls or taking in power through my spinning void within but the two of them can’t go either of these routes. Instead, they will have to constantly absorb energy from their cores to their soul trees. That’s the only other way I know how to increase the power of one’s soul.)

(So what your saying is their soul trees have to absorb power and that power can’t come from you, correct?)

(Exactly. Basically, it depends on their own power. So the time it takes for them to reach the next stage is entirely on them. It all just depends on how fast they can strengthen their own souls.)

(Now that is interesting. In order for you to reach the Demigod stage you still need to fix the last part of your damaged soul. This could take hundreds of thousands of years or millions depending on the quality of souls you absorb through your soul-reading ability. The likely scenario is that the children really will enter the Demigod stage before you. How utterly humiliating will that be for you when they do?)

Kazuki shook his head.

(I would not be humiliated in the least. Instead, I would be proud that they could do and achieve something I did not.)

Arc was slightly surprised hearing Kazuki’s humbled words but half a second later Kazuki added.

(Besides just because those two enter the Demigod stage before me, it doesn’t mean they can beat me, hehe. They still have a long way to go.)

Arc chuckled inwardly.

(Kazuki, your childishness is something to admire, I’ll give you that.)

—————————————————————————-

The next morning. Mei awoke blurry-eyed. Kazuki was sitting next to her. The moment she saw him, there was no longer any anger or hatred. Tears began to fall and she jumped in his arms while crying out.

“Big brother! I’m sorry I don’t know why I got so angry and and

“Shhh, You did nothing wrong. I am at fault. I was trying to get under your skin and provoke you so that you could master aura like me, and I went too far.”

Mei’s tears and snot flowed down Kazuki’s chest and she cried even harder hearing this. Kosaru quickly woke up after hearing the commotion and seeing his big sister crying, his tears flowed automatically to match hers. He as well jumped at Kazuki and Kazuki caught him and held the two in a long embrace while comforting them.

After a while, Mei and Kosaru’s stomachs growled at nearly the same time.

“It seems like you two could use some breakfast. Come, wipe your tears and wash up. I’ll have a big breakfast prepared when you come down.”

Mei and Kosaru stopped crying and became excited. As Kazuki went downstairs to the dining room, the two kids raced one another to see who could get cleaned up the fastest.

It only took them seconds of course and they raced down trying to beat Kazuki but to their shock, the food was already ready. Kazuki was just taking it off of the magic stoves when they burst through the dining room doors.

“Big brother, what did you make us!?”

Kazuki had a mixed breakfast. Again it was inspired by Earth, both western dishes and eastern dishes.

Rainbow-colored grains of rice, fresh eggs, and french toast with maple syrup. A multitude of different meats. Some aged and some fresh and fried. Whitetail fish grilled to perfection with lots of bacon and doughnuts. Veggies stir-fried and a bowl of hearty stew. Homestyle fries and bowls of delicious miso. Some things clearly weren’t for breakfast but Kazuki didn’t care. He just wanted to make tasty things he knew the kids would like.

Seeing a feast prepared before them, the kids were salivating. Not just them, by the time Kazuki had finished cooking, the smell had spread through the whole shop and everyone had appeared from whatever room they were in and rushed to the dining room.

Kazuki was a little surprised to see Simmons was one of the first to arrive but Simmons said nothing and just waited off to the side where the rest of the servants would usually wait. Samuel arrived and sat down immediately and held his knife and fork ready for the food while Marty came in with a bright smile as usual.

When everyone arrived, Kazuki with a thought pushed out three extra chairs toward Chaka, Bersik, and Simmons. All three stared at him in shock before looking toward their Master.

Samuel also raised a brow.

“Sir Jentosn, you wish for them to join us?”

Kazuki shrugged.

“It’s stuffy having people watch me eat with ravenous expressions. Besides, food tastes better when more people are around to enjoy it.”

Samuel thought for a moment.

“If Sir Jentson says so, it must be true. Everyone hurry and sit down, you heard Sir Jentson. Alright now, let’s all eat together.”

Chaka and Bersik jumped into their seat and matching them was Simmons. They gave him an odd look. Usually, he would be the first to oppose something out of the ordinary but now he was jumping to sit down and eat.

Simmons simply picked up a fork.

“What, a man needs to eat in order to better serve the Young Master. Now stop staring at me and follow Young Master’s order…Eat!”
