Return of the Fallen Volume 11 Chapter 155

Bodies rained down nonstop. With this, Kori, the two slave Gods, and Viz did what they do best. Before these falling Gods had a chance to recover, they swooped down like hunting birds of prey and finished several Gods in one strike.

Ten, twenty, thirty Gods left this world with no knowledge of when nor how they departed. Lestirius and his two allies had just barely been able to escape this mad rush of Vajra ships only because they had not stepped into the fray. Had they tried, all three knew they would have no doubt died then and there. They were thankful they waited and could not help but rethink their plan of action.

Adigus had flown several miles away and retreated to safety and now there was a clear problem on his hands. After a moment the Vajra ships had flown past him and far off into the distance. Once again Samuel and Kazuki were only surrounded by Demigods. If he went in, then with his god-like power it only made sense that he could slay all of them in one move but after falling for Kazuki’s trick not once but twice, he was cautious.

Not just him but looking around there were around 20 Gods left on his side and every single one of them was hesitating to move forward. If they were to dive in for the third time and rush the mortals, they could once more come under fire from a barrage of Vajra ships.

It made no sense to them. Just where did all of these ships come from? They understood that they came from Kazuki and his allies but it was more than that. A single Vajra ship would cost a fortune yet Kazuki and his allies had sent out a few thousand. Sure the quality of these ships was not the best but still, it was thousands of Vajra ships. This was not something that just anyone could acquire.

The time alone to have a ship built took many expert builders along with decades or even centuries depending on how well you wanted one made. Right now they just couldn’t understand. It was an impossible scenario. So impossible that they were 100% sure that Kazuki did not have a second round in the chamber but they were proved wrong to the doom of many.

For them to doubt something impossible for the third time…They did not wish to risk it.

“WHAT’S WRONG ADIGUS!? SURELY YOU WISH TO TRY ONCE MORE! COME AND HAVE A TASTE OF DEATH. I GLADLY WELCOME YOU WITH OPEN ARMS!”

Viz came to Kauzuki’s side before taunting Adigus. Not just him but the two slave Gods and Kori as well. Four Gods on one side and twenty against them. Marty stood next to Viz and Kazuki and asked no one in particular.

“Is the time when we moon them again?”

This caused both her and Viz to crack up in laughter. Kazuki shook his head.

(There’s no need to provoke him further. Look at him. After both waves of Vajra’s ships, he still has not given up and left. He’s calculating whether or not we have more ships. More than that, he’s taking into account how to deal with us even if we have more ships. He will attack us very soon. Keep on guard.)

(You think I need my guard up against them?)

(Viz please do not become overconfident. We really are down to only a few ships. You know how shabbily and swiftly we put those pieces of crap together. They could only shoot off like that with that much speed one good time before they begin to fall apart. There won’t be a third wave and we are still outnumbered God-wise. We must not lose ourselves to our own egos. Otherwise only death awaits us.)

Viz didn’t argue.

(Fine, I guess we still have a fight on our hands. Can you deal with what comes next? Surely Adigus knows it is you that is carrying these plots forward. The most likely targets would be you and I. Once we are dealt with, everyone else falls.)

(I know, but there are still some cards to play. We just have to finish it right and we can all escape with our heads attached.)

Kazuki told everyone this and they were prepared to keep going until the very end.

Across the battlefield, Adigus was studying Kazuki and Viz.

(This damn mortal managed to cause the death of nearly a hundred Gods. Yet now he is not making a single move. Could he really be out of ships?)

Adigus’s ring glowed and his own Vajra ship appeared in the air. Following him, the remaining Gods also took out their own Ships and any spare they had. Kazuki already knew where this was leading.

Adigus and all of the enemy Gods hopped aboard their own ships and slowly began to close in on Kazuki and everyone else. Suddenly powerful magic attacks came flying out of these ships left and right. Instead of them coming at Kazuki and the others, these attacks went all around their surroundings.

Chaotic space ripped open in every direction. Small rifts here and there by the thousands. It was like a minefield except instead of being blown up one would get sucked into the void and never return.

(Damn, this Adigus is no fool. He’s making it so we can not escape easily.)

(Viz, all of these tears in space will affect our senses and soon even our magic. We cannot have a drawn-out battle or we’ll lose!)

(Don’t you think I already know that shit but we can’t just move recklessly here. Not only that, I think Adigus knows you really are out of ships, otherwise, this would have been the point to use them right?)

(The amount we have can be counted on one hand but we’ll have to deal.)

(Alright just hurry up, they’re getting closer!)

The gears in Kazuki’s head began to turn rapidly as the enemy closed in on them. He was not without ideas, not yet.

With a thought, he relayed his plan and everyone moved.

All of their eyes began to glow and their powers unfolded all at once. Ice, fire, darkness, light, stone, and air. Millions of tons of rock appeared and were reduced to dust. The ice and fire collided and created steam. Blinding light poured out and filled the sky and a dark mist spread in every direction. Several tornados broke out and kicked up all of the dust, steam, and everything else creating a large veil of cover.

This all appeared within a fraction of a second but it was quickly being sucked away into the tears in space.

Adigus knew this was a diversion and roared at his allies.

“THEY ARE TRYING TO ESCAPE! KILL THEM!”

The barriers on their ships were raised in an instant and their sail filled with Divine energy before they flashed forward faster than light.

Even though there were Chaotic space tears all over, they all had already memorized exactly where they were and knew where to avoid them even in this cover. However just as they were rushing in, 3 different beams of light came flashing out. Each one of these beams was a Vajra ship carrying people.

Adigus saw his newfound authority and riches flying away and shouted.

“CHASE!”

Adigus and his allies broke into three different groups and immediately chased after these three different ships.

None could tell who was on which ship but Adigus could feel an overwhelming amount of power on one particular ship along with Samuel’s familiar energy and rushed after them without delay.

“YOU THINK YOU CAN RUN FROM MEEEE!”

As Adigus raced after Samuel and Viz he was accompanied by 9 other Gods. While the rest of his allies went after the two other ships. Five went toward the east while the other five went to the west after the other ship.

Adigus was pissed. He had lost so much but as long as he killed Samuel and Viz, he would have no more enemies. He could claim the expert craftsman and obtain a fortune so vast that he could do whatever he wishes. Seeing Samuel and Viz fly away, he knew it was now only a matter of time before he had what he wanted. Still, this did little to appease his anger. A few tiny mortals had humiliated him to such a degree that if he did not kill them with his own hands he felt he would never regain his reputation.

This was no longer just about obtaining absurd amounts of wealth and power. No, he had to kill them, he had to be the one to grip their necks and squeeze until the life ran dry from their corpses.

He poured as much power as he could into his Vajra ship. The sails lit up brighter and brighter and its speed began to increase more and more.
