Return of the Fallen Volume 12 Chapter 104

As the battle raged on, God’s were destroyed in large swaths. Reduced to particles of dust or melted into globs of disgusting parts. Some were electrocuted and had their innards separated on a microscopic level. No matter where one looked, death loomed over the entire battlefield.

Verius wielded his spear expertly. With a wave of it, a powerful energy rippled out from the blade and swept across the battlefield for thousands of miles. All of it concentrated in front of him in a V shape pattern. tens of thousands of Gods died in a single move.

Many noticed this and did their best to avoid Verius and his power. Not just him, there were a handful of Gods who moved across the battlefield unimpeded. To stand in their way meant an ensured death. As time went on, a noticeable scene played out. Those that were considerably stronger than the others were clearing their own paths. This handful of Gods seemed to purposely avoid anyone else that was an equal and stuck to wiping out the weaker Gods. Very quickly it became obvious what was happening. The strong did not wish to compete with the weak. If somehow a weakling got into the Black gate ahead of them and got to the treasure first, even if this weaker God couldn’t use the Artifact, it would be a blight and complete disgrace for these Gods who claim to be strong.

A sense of humiliation unlike any other would befall them all. They all wished to get rid of the majority of ants here and now so that nothing unexpected would get in their way.
At least, this is how some thought. Others were a little more cautious and did not wish to waste an ounce of energy dueling an expert like themselves. If they really did get into conflict with an equal and they went at one another with all their might…It would leave their backs open to another expert. In a situation where you are putting your all into the enemy in front, it would be too easy to fall to the blade of another. And so, they avoided one another while slaying the weaker Gods here and there.

When millions more fell, Verius knew the time had come to fulfill his master’s command. As he gathered a formidable amount of Divine energy in the tip of his spear, with a swiftness that could hardly be perceived by the weaker Gods, Verius slashed at the space in front of him. This slash contained enough destructive capability that it tore open space for tens of thousands of miles. Chaotic space opened across this large gap of space and suddenly all of the surroundings began to warp as they were forcibly dragged into these open tares.

Everyone watched on with expressions that said what in the actual fuck! A few of the more clever people already understood what he was doing. While many fled for their lives, the clever ones held their position and prepared to make their move. Back on the Crescent moon ship, a knight wearing blue armor saw this and spoke to the red-haired being sitting atop his throne.

“Master, Lord Verius has given the signal.”

The man sitting on the throne rubbed the ring on his finger with his thumb before he stood up and commanded.

“Forward!”

At this order, several thousand ships moved at his word.

Many watched this from the sidelines and were shocked. They all knew what would happen if you got too close to the green jewel of the universe while on a Vajra ship. They all thought the man was crazy and was going to ram his ship directly into the invisible wall. Even before the wall they still had to deal with the large tear in Chaotic space. It didn’t matter what the being did if he did not first avoid this large tear but to their shock, he commanded all of his ships to head in that exact direction. These ships moved at unbelievable speeds and left trails of silver light in their wake. Verius smiled as his master’s ship approached from behind. Taking a step backward, his master’s ship arrived at his back almost instantly. For a fraction of a second, the flagship lowered its barrier. A fraction of a second later, Verius landed atop the ship and a fraction of time later, the barrier was restored.

If the timing was off in any way shape or form, Verius would have been crushed by the incoming flagship.

Verius smiled as he arrived at his master’s side.

“I’ve followed your orders master. I’ll leave the next step to you.”

The red-haired being again gave Verius a quick glance before quickly turning his attention away. They had already arrived at the colossal tear in space. The suction force was already affecting their ships but this expert held little care toward this threat. With a simple gesture of his hand, the special ring on his finger glowed with a multitude of colors and shot directly into this planetary-sized tear in space. As soon as the mysterious power inside his ring came into contact with the oversized tear, something unbelievable took place. Before the witness of 10’s of millions of Gods, the tear in space, the path to Chaotic space, was sealed shut. It was as if all the power was drained away and devoured.

Space in an instant had returned to normal and thousands of ships under this mysterious figure passed by what just moments ago was Chaotic space. They then arrived directly in front of the 7 dark worlds and the single green world and the man again did something they did not expect. All of his ships stopped before the invisible wall and he and Verius jumped off the ships and went right for the green world. A woman in the distance wearing gold and black armor witnessed this and was furious. Her power reached across space as she roared.

“GARDIUS! YOU AND YOUR MUTT VERIUS DARE GET AHEAD OF ME!”

The red-haired expert called Gardius didn’t even look back. With a smirk on his face, he and Verius flew into the green world with no resistance. The Gods that were clever and knew Verius was up to something, they as well managed to get into the green world just before the thousands of Vajra ships Gardius left behind formed a tight blockade near the green world. Every single one of these ships had their barriers up in full. A few people atop the decks of these ships opened their storage rings and tiny worlds appeared in their vicinity. These worlds were no bigger than a grain of sand. In an instant, these tiny worlds opened and several million Gods poured out of them and got into formation.

Now, the only way to get into the green world at the center of the Black gate was to first get past Gardius’s army and ships.

The remaining experts all realized they had been too slow and Gardius had gotten ahead. Fury spread amongst them and they all decided then and there to personally break through this blockade.
These powerful Gods were only a handful in number and none were allies with the other but at this moment they all roared in unison.

“KILL THEM ALL!”

The handful of Gods and all the remaining Gods became one as they charged forward to forcibly breach this wall of Gods and ships.
At the other end, the Gods among the blockade knew they could not hold these other Gods forever. They all gathered their energy and the moment either side was within range, they all unleashed their power.

The ones amongst the experts. Although they had come together for this attack, they were still considering the risks and were not going all out. On the other side, those that were blocking the others from entering used all of their power in a single attack.

A fierce explosion rippled outward and millions died on both sides. at the same time Chaotic space tore open once more. It opened up directly between the blockade and the offensive.
Those on the side of the blockade were laughing inwardly. Because this large tear of Chaotic space opened. It meant none could pass through this zone. At the same time, the blockade quickly began to move and circled around the green world. Slightly more than 90° of one side was cut off due to the open tear in Chaotic space which meant the blockade needed to only protect the rest of the green world from invasion.

They quickly began to move to get into position and the experts raged. At the same time as this was happening. All of the experts suddenly felt the same strange mysterious power that Gardius had used moments earlier. Just as he had sealed Chaotic space, they all felt him sealing the green world.

None of them knew how or what type of power caused this but what they did know is that they currently had no countermeasure for this power. If the green world was really sealed off with this power, none of the experts could guarantee that they could break it open.

Once the green world was sealed, their once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, the treasure to alter the Higher Realms and rule the universe, it would fall through their fingers like sand.
