Return of the Fallen Volume 12 Chapter 125

Kazuki could only take so much of Gardius’s energy. It was far too powerful, too violent. He grew as he absorbed a fraction of this energy before the rest overwhelmed him.

*BOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!*

His entire body exploded into tiny particles.

Gardius knew this was not the end and looked for Kazuki’s Divine Soulw weapon but of course, Kauzki had no such thing. Instead, he forced his soul into his gauntlet Artifact and let it fall out of the sky along with his storage ring.

Gardius did not expect this and scanned the area quickly but could not detect any other Soul weapons besides the ones the other Gods had.

He continued to look around and sense his surroundings but he really could no longer sense Kauzki’s presence, nor did he have time to worry about it as Brella would not allow it.

While he was distracted, she raised both her fist and clasped them together. Her claws moved directly under the bottom of her fists as if she were holding a set of daggers. The four long claw blades fused into one blade, becoming sharper and stronger than ever before.

She brought her fist down with the intent to actually pierce Gardius’s flesh and with them being this close together and him being distracted, her blades came but a few millimeters from landing upon him.

He was distracted but not enough to miss an enemy right in front of him. His hand came racing up with a blurred speed and he caught hold of the fused blade with his bare hand. The impact alone caused loud thunderous explosions to ring out.

Gardius had a smile half a second ago but after he caught Brellas blade, his smile faded and was replaced with rage.

At the bottom of his hand, squeezing through the gaps and wrinkles in his flesh was the smallest line of blood. Only a few drops but it was a fact, Gardiu’s had been cut by Bella’s claw blade.

A small slit opened on Brella’s helmet and a devilish laugh escaped her armor as she blatantly mocked him.

*Kukuku*

“So the mighty Gadius, the one so many fear and was thought to be invincible. It turns out even you can bleed.”

A dark fire lit in Gardius’s eyes and his red hair darkened further.

“It seems I have made a mistake. I let you live for far too long and you thought me weak. It’s time I correct this.”

Gardius cocked his free hand back beside his waist and tensed his muscles before he released a weighted breath.

Brella’s armor immediately flashed and a layer of Oriing energy was instantly infused with her golden black armor. Its defenses skyrocketed for a split second as Gardius’s fist came flying forward.

The speed of this fist was only the simplest part of this punch. The power of 6 elements fused momentarily and coated his entire fist in a reddish-black color. The power of gravity, light, black lightning, frozen ice, blazing hot flames, and choking darkness had become one for a split second as this fist struck Brella directly in her chest plate.

The chest plate caved in and she was launched backward faster than light. The fractured world split further as explosions rang out continuously. The world had flooded due to the damage it had taken earlier. With this attack, all the water boiled, steamed, and vaporized, all in less than a second.

The lush greenery that covered swathes of this world, in an instant was turned into ash and then reduced further to nothingness. Every mountain, every valley, and everything in between had been destroyed and wiped off the face of this once-green jewel of a world.

A handful of Gods had snuck in before Gardius had sealed the world. These lowly cowardly folk were all hiding away, lying in wait. They had been watching this battle. Every single one of them was hopelessly outmatched, they knew this but they were greedy. They had been waiting for one opportunity for things to take a turn so that they could sneak by under everyone’s noses and snatch away what never belonged to them in the first place.

Rats in the night.

Gardius knew of them already and with this attack, he destroyed every last one of them. Not just them. This world already had an abundance of strange and mysterious living creatures. All with power equal to a God. Some were even close to Supreme Gods. With this one move by Gardius, they as well had been reduced to nothingness. No body, no soul. Gardius’s attack had left a scar that covered the entire planet. One that was saturated with his overwhelming and violent energy.

Even if billions upon billions of years passed, this world would never recover, never regenerate. It was now just another barren ball of mud left floating in the depths of space.

When the dust settled, looking at this world, a single word came to mind.

Devastation.

Gardius saw this but found no joy because, in the distance, his destruction had not done the one thing he was expecting.

Several thousand miles away, Stasha’s Vajra ship was still hovering off tilt.

This alone was frustrating to some degree but what really got under his skin was the fact that Brella was on board. Her helmet was now flipped up revealing her pale face and she was coughing up mouthfuls of blood. Her Artifact armor was incredible and was said to be near indestructible but under Gardius’s power, she knew the truth. She had just barely escaped death.

She wasn’t the only survivor.

Not just her but Cainen was there and his body was nearly fully regenerated. Next to him was Kazuki who was holding an unconscious Jinkin in his arms.

Behind them was the tall thin Stasha, the short dragonborn woman Carta and the grey, six-armed Dredinkar. The three of them were panting heavily and were covered in a cold sweat as the trio was pouring copious amounts of energy into the barrier of the ship.

Gardius was not only frustrated but secretly he was actually shocked. There were several things that were not making sense to him. Part of it was the fact that all of his enemies were alive and well. Another part was the fact that Kazuki’s body had been destroyed after Cainen’s yet he had regenerated entirely before Cainen did. Not only that he was holding Jinkin in his arms indicating it was him that rescued Jinkin and not someone else.

He had been doubtful about Kazuki’s speed before but now he was alarmed. Not from fear but rather this meant it would be that much harder to finish him once and for all.

Once more his curiosity was piqued. He felt foolish because he actually wanted to ask but he quickly stopped himself.

(It must be Stasha’s Vajra ship. She can stop time in her area and even manipulate space with absolute confidence. That man is fast but there’s no way he could have escaped my power without Stasha’s help. It seems I’ll need to break that ship before anything else. Otherwise, they’ll just use it to run around all day.)

Gardius had confidently marked Kazuki’s escape as help from Stasha’s Artifact ship but in actuality, he couldn’t be further from the truth. He was unaware of what had happened but Stasha knew. She along with Carta and Dredinkar had witnessed everything clearly from the ship’s deck.

Carta knew a little about Kauzki’s skills because she had lost consciousness early on but Dredinkar was a little more aware. Stasha who had just now seen it for the first time was taken aback and stunned. No, not just her. Even though Carta and Dredinkar knew a little about it, they as well were just as dumbstruck seeing it.

The moment Gardiu’s fist was covered in 6 different elements and these elements then fused together and struck Brella in the chest, Kazuki made his move. The wings atop his gauntlet flapped and shined with radiant silver light before he raced toward Jinkin. As soon as he arrived, his body regenerated. He grabbed the unconscious Jinkin and then turned and flew to Cainen and grabbed him before flying to Brella and scooping her up as well and making it to Stasha’s ship just as her barrier came up.

Cainne and the others knew Kauzki had saved them but they, like Gardius assumed Stasha had used her ship to help him and in fact, believed it was Stasha who had done the heavy lifting.

If only they knew just how hard the maneuver was that Kazuki had just accomplished.

Using his gauntlet to fly at such speeds, it was almost an impossibility to turn and adjust direction instantly. if he did that, the speed would tear his body to pieces. Instead, he was forced to move, stop, grab someone, turn, and then move faster than light. Grabbing three people and then getting to the ship took four directional turns. Each one was cutting it incredibly close as the explosion was right on his ass.

Stasha who witnessed this especially understood how difficult this really was and she felt both admiration and a sense of fear at what Kazuki could potentially do.

Kazuki said nothing of this though so they understood this meant not to mention it to anyone else.

Still, the trio wondered why he hadn’t used this ability earlier and felt a mix of emotions.

While some were focused on him, others focused on Gardius and vice versa. It was Kazuki and another who had a part of their focus elsewhere.

Both shared a similar thought at this moment.
