Return of the Fallen Volume 12 Chapter 129

A long blade in hand, Gardius gave chase. His plasma bolts formed nets the size of mountains and crisscrossed across the sky in order to trap Kazuki. Gardius knew that just like Kazuki’s persistent Golem, he could not simply hit him with one attack. Yes, his power would destroy Kauzki’s body entirely but Kazuki would quickly hide his soul inside his gauntlet and flee.

(I have to destroy his body and gauntlet before he has a chance to run. Otherwise, this shall take all day.)

Gardius looked at the treasure floating silently in this space. His seal was still perfectly intact. He began to wonder if he should release his barrier and use the Artifact within to destroy Kauzki once and for all.

(Now that all witnesses are inside this man’s ring, he is the only obstacle I need to remove to achieve total victory. At the same time, if I unseal the treasure and there is another fluctuation in space, he might find a way through the seal I placed on this world and escape. I cannot let this bastard leave here alive no matter what.)

Gardius who was seemingly incapable of second-guessing himself, now after dealing with Kazuki for only a short while was unsure.

As his power encircled Kazuki from all around, it allowed him to gain on him. Kazuki had to continuously break and take sharp turns in the air. This caused his body to constantly rip itself apart under the intense speed. Every time he forced Kauzki to stop for a split second, it slowed him for fractions of a second. This allowed Gardius to get closer and closer each step of the way.

“WHERE DO YOU PLAN TO GO!? THERE IS NO ESCAPING HERE, NO ESCAPING FROM ME!”

Gardius got within a few thousand feet of Kazuki, he swore he could just reach out and grab him in another half a breath. With a swing from his sword, a dangerous energy came flying out ready to destroy anything it touches.

Kazuki could feel the hairs on the back of his neck stand. If a single bolt of Gardius could destroy his body, then the energy from this one slash could completely remove his existence from this plane of existence.

The slash spread out across the sky and was as wide as the entire former planet before its explosion. Not only was it wide as fuck but it stretched several thousand miles up and down, forming a stupidly oversized X in the air.

Kazuki wished to move out of the way but every gap was filled with Gardius’s plasmatic bolts.

(Damn! Is every path blocked!?)

Kazuki wondered why exactly he had to deal with all of this shit before he quickly threw the useless thoughts away. His ki circulated through his mind and his thoughts became clear. The gears in his head turned at an accelerated rate.

Once again he opened his ring.

He pulled out another two Titan Golems. In this space that was already overfilled with one Titan Golem as well as a massive amount of power, this whole area was already a tight squeeze.

As soon as his Golems made their appearance, they were immediately destroyed by Gardius’s power. This though was not unfortunate but rather fortunate personified.

The Titan Golems were blasted to pieces and there was almost nothing left but like before there were still fragments. These few fragments began to absorb the energy in their surroundings as well as from the Divine crystals inside his ring before they began to repair themselves. Of course, they could not use Gardius’s energy to repair themselves but as they took the energy from their surroundings. These Golems became bombs for Kazuki.

As soon as these Golems had absorbed as much energy as they could, With a thought, Kazuki made them self-destruct.

Three Titan Golems exploded with the force of a Lower Realm each. This wasn’t much on a grand scale or comparable in any way to even a single one of Gardius’s fused magic bolts but these explosions were just enough to throw these bolts of plasma ever so slightly off of Kauzki’s trail.

(Interesting. I don’t need a force equal to Gardius’s, I merely need enough force to throw these seeking attacks off my ass.)

As soon as he thought about this another thought hit him.

(If I can throw them off, that means I’m capable of changing their direction. Maybe not by much but…this shows me that even though these bolts are under Gardius’s control, he can’t manage the micro changes from a sudden explosion by me. At the very least he can’t control every single one of his attacks to perfection when there is a new variable suddenly thrown into the mix.)

A plan quickly began to form in Kazuki’s mind. He counted the amount of fused magic plasma bolts chasing after him and found there were slightly over 4 billion. There had only been around a billion at the start but Garidus’s rage had gotten to him and now he wished to murder Kazuki no matter what.

After accidentally redirecting a few of Gardius’s attacks, Kazuki just barely managed to avoid death and slip through a gap in Gardius’s offense.

Gardius did not expect this and looked at Kazuki’s ring. Kazuki got a terrible feeling and instantly brought out the rest of his Titan Golems, a total of just under 100,000.

He then spoke to Stasha inside his ring for only an instant before he felt the communication cut off. Looking at his ring it was obvious as to why.

There was a seal, a tiny barrier around his storage ring. The source of which was of course Gardius.

Gardius smiled fiendishly at Kazuki.

“Oh, you didn’t know I could do that. A mere storage item is easy to seal off even if I’m not in contact with it. Artifacts are much more difficult so unfortunately, we will still be doing this little rat race but I suspect that will come to an end rather quickly. Without your storage ring, you are cut off from whatever energy you are pulling from. You have been quite an annoyance. I’ll admit you have some skill when it comes to hanging on to your pathetic little life. However, you share the same qualities as a roach in that regard. Just like a roach, I will soon crush you and be done with you once and for all.”

Gardius spoke as if everything were certain. Seeing the terrified look on Kazuki’s face, he felt some form of satisfaction but it wasn’t enough. He had to see the life go out of Kauzki’s eyes and feel his soul perish before him before he could be fully happy.

A murderous intent filled Gardiu’s eyes as he lifted his sword once more.

“Finally, your end.”

Kazuki activated his gauntlet and flew to the center of this place, to the treasure. He began hammering his fists upon the seal barrier trying to destroy it with every blow. Gardius witnessed this and laughed.

“Now your panicking. Heh, the air of mystery is gone, replaced with the cowardice and fear of a newborn calf stuck in the jaws of a great beast.”

Gardius swung his sword. As soon as he did this, billions of bolts of power came racing toward Kazuki. They no longer formed a net and simply raced straight for him. At the same time, the slash containing all of Gardius’s power came down upon Kazuki like the Realm itself was going to break.

Kazuki’s eyes darted in every direction as if he were truly terrified. The moment Gardius’s attack hit, Kazuki smiled, and he moved out of the way. Now all of Gardius’s attacks were about to collide with his own seal around the treasure.

Gardius saw this and laughed.

“Did you think I would fall for some childish trick?

With a thought, the Bolts changed direction and completely avoided the sealed treasure and once more came after Kazuki. Kazuki shook his head.

“This trick no, but what about this one.”

All of a sudden a small rift appeared next to Gardius and out of the rift appeared Cainens large drum but the rift did not close just yet. Net to Kazuki another small rift appeared. Kazuki activated his gauntlet and wrapped it with both crimson lightning and sword forms before his hand shot into the rift faster than light and came out of the other rift next to Gardius’s head.

With a speed faster than light, Kazuki struck the drum with every ounce of strength and seed he had.

As the sound traveled into Gardius’s open ear, it contained a violence he had never experienced. Even though Kauzki’s sword forms and lightning could normally do nothing to Gardius but because it came with the explosive sound waves, it actually slightly affected his soul.

Kazuki’s gauntlet could move faster than a Vajra ship and so the response that came off of Cainens drum was something even he himself could never imagine.
