Reya’s eyes glowed a bright red and she squeezed Kazuki’s neck, digging her nails into his flesh. Kazuki felt his air being cut off and wondered if he bet wrongly.
(She’s going to kill me. No, this is just a threat, I must remain stro…)
Reya squeezed harder and harder and Kazuki could feel his mind going blank and his thinking becoming more and more fuzzy and clouded but still, he kept that same confident smile.
Kazuki’s face began to turn blue but he never stopped smiling. Finally, Reya grunted in displeasure before throwing Kazuki face down in the snow.
“You fucking humans are all the same. Greedy and devious to no end.”
Muteki and his squad were left on the back burner and had no idea what to do. Even when Reya was squeezing the life from Kazuki. Once Kazuki was dead, they would have failed their mission and failure was not an option for King Garn. At the same time, what could they do?
Reya kicked Kazuki which rolled him onto his back. Peering down at him she was pissed but she didn’t kill him, once more adding to Kazuki’s confidence.
*Cough cough cough wheeze*
Kazuki’s throat was on fire and he coughed and gasped for breath. The color returned to his face and he slowly sat up.
“Are you ready to discuss this now, are you done with your little tantrum?”
Reya crossed her arms over her chest.
“You think that was a tantrum?”
Reya shook her head and spoke through gritted teeth.
“You’ve seen nothing yet. Now tell me, no games and no dragging this situation out. What do you want in exchange for my Queens belonging?”
Kazuki was annoyed that she kept claiming that his compass was already Fera’s property but now was not the time for such small things.
“First things first, free me, as well as my friends. Unbind all of us.”
Reya grunted before coming behind Kazuki and with a pinch to the rock-like ropes binding him, with a snap, they broke away.
Kazuki stood up and smiled toward Muteki and his squad.
Muteki felt a fire burning in his chest and could sit around doing nothing anymore. He also couldn’t afford to piss Reya off. Walking a tight rope, he calmly spoke to her.
“Reya, the object you want, that compass, is that really the only thing you want?”
Reya barely glanced at him and gave a slight nod as she released Asuna and the others one by one.
Muteki continued.
“After you take the compass, will you be leaving?”
Reya nodded. There was no reason not to answer.
“And Kazuki, you’ll leave him as well?”
Muteki no longer cared about Nunully and the others. As long as they could bring Kazuki back as a prisoner, Garn would most likely forgive Muteki and the rest of his squad for not killing Nunully. When it came to Asuna and the others, once Reya left, Muteki and his squad could finish things up here. Either Asuna and the rest would come back or they would be slain here and now. If things ended like this then Muteki could still call this mission a success.
Muteki signaled his squad members and had them form a large circle around Asuna and the rest, just in case they decided to run all of the sudden. Without their magic tools, even Muteki’s weakest members could still take out Kazuki’s friends. Muteki couldn’t allow them to run and split up. He had to remain here no matter what and deal with Kazuki.
Reya watched them surround her and the others and felt anger boiling up.
(What do these weak humans think they’re doing.)
Reya released the last of the binds and everyone slowly stood up, rubbing away the pain in their wrist.
Reya came back to Kazuki and stood right in front of him. Kazuki was forced to look up at Reya due to her height and he swallowed dryly.
(She’s even taller than Sam.)
Reya held out her hand.
“Give me the compass.”
Everyone looked at Kazuki at this moment to see what he would do. Kazuki though smiled and shook his head.
“There’s one more thing I would ask of you. Just one final thing. You do it, and my compass is all yours.”
Reya squinted her eyes as she tried to figure out the man in front of her. All she saw was a weakling but for some reason, he also seemed sharp like a blade. How could that be? How can someone be weak and strong at the same time? Shallow yet deep, cold as the mountain peak and hot as a blazing fire.
“What is this final thing you ask of me?”
Kazuki pointed at Muteki and the others and spoke coldly.
“Kill every single one of them and my compass is yours for the taking.”
Muteki and his squad were shaken to the core by this request. Even Asuna and the others were taken aback. One of Reya’s brows rose with interest.
(This man, he wishes to use me to destroy his enemies. He and the Queen really are siblings.)
Reya grabbed Kazuki by the collar and lifted him off the ground.
“If you lie to me if this is another trick and you don’t give me the ring. I swear to the gods above and the devils below, you will suffer until your last day by my hand. I will drag you back to Queen Fera and there we will torture you until you spit up that compass and then when we have it, I will continue to inflict pain unto you in which you have never seen or felt. You will wish for death every day and I will bring you to the edge of it every day. I will heal your wounds until you are whole and then I will restart my torture on you. This will repeat on an everlasting loop. Do you understand me?”
Kazuki gave a small nod and he truly felt her words. Reya then dropped him to the ground and she slowly turned to face Muteki and his men.
Muteki swallowed hard and was about to say something when Reya vanished from her spot. Muteki’s eyes widened in terror and instinct alone, a black rock armor formed over every inch of his body. Muteki jumped to the side in front of Varia and like a porcupine, spikes made from rock jutted out of his armor.
*Bang*
Muteki felt a large impact and he was launched into the sky. His head rung like a bell but he recovered while in the air. Shooting flames from beneath his feet, he hovered in the air and looked on in horror. The spikes on the left side of him had all broke away. Down below him, He caught sight of Reya’s movements. Apparently, when she rammed into him it had slowed her briefly. With him knocked flying, Reya didn’t hesitate to change targets. With a pivot of her foot, she ran forward head-on into two more of Muteki’s members.
*Splat Crunch*
Reya plowed through the two men like a mountain. As soon as her body made contact with theirs. Both of the men exploded on contact. Their bones were turned into so many fragments that when they flew off they became like large splinters that shot out like little speeding arrows.
Like a shotgun blast, another member had his entire left side filled with holes from the speeding broken bones. The man died standing and by the time his body did hit the ground, a rain of blood fell simultaneously from the first two that she ran through. Silence fell and everyone was shell shocked. Even Kazuki who had asked her to do this. He knew she was strong enough from seeing her speed and strength from earlier but he could never have guessed she was hiding this much power.
Kazuki couldn’t even begin to fathom what type of inscription tattoo she had to give her so much power. To kill three men who were all 3rd stage Mages in less than a blink of an eye, how preposterous.
(There’s no way such an inscription tattoo exists. She must be similar to Mei and Tsura. She’s actually a Magic Beast that can transform into a human and a powerful one at that. That’s the only thing that would explain all this.)
Reya slowly turned around and was just about ready to attack once more. Muteki didn’t care how he looked as he screamed and shook at Varia.
“VARIA GET OUT OF THERE NOW!”
Varia was still shaken from what had just happened but with Muteki’s panicked voice, her mind snapped awake. She leaped into the air and brought flames beneath her feet as well and began to fly up.
Reya broke the ground beneath her as she kicked away and raced forward like a speeding slab of metal. Reya just barely missed Varia but there were two more in front of her and they had no chance whatsoever.
*Squelch*
They became meat paste, splattered all over the ground. Once more a rain of blood fell. This time it covered Reya and she couldn’t help but lick her lips in delight. A smile spread across her face.
(How refreshing.)
Reya paused her steps and shut her eyes for a moment as rubbed her shoulders in bliss and enjoyed this shower of blood.
On the ground below only a single member of Muteki’s squad remained alive. Up in the air was a different story. Muteki and Variaboth used their flames and hovered in the air. Abura as well had a torrent of wind keeping him in the air. The most interesting thing was Byki. A small black cloud floated under his feet and held him in the sky. Even Varia and Abura were surprised to see him flying as well. He ignored their questioning glances and focused on the last member down below. He, unfortunately, didn’t know how to fly.
He looked around him and saw the meat paste remains of his friends as well as Reya playing with the blood. The man fell apart and shouted up into the air.
“BOSS! BOSS SAVE ME! PLEASE SAVE ME!”
Muteki hesitated and thought about the burden it would be to fly with another person. He wouldn’t be able to maneuver the way he wanted and that was a bother. He didn’t have to worry though because right after the man shouted, Reya’s blood-red eyes snapped open and she flashed forward, grabbing the man by the neck and lifting him up.
The man could no longer speak due to the pressure around his neck. Reya looked up at the insects flying in the sky.
“Can you all come down here so I can kill you? You’re taking up too much of my time.”
She said that with an aggravated tone as though they were inconveniencing her somehow, Yet the fiendish grin on her face told them how she really felt. She was enjoying this so much that she didn’t even try to hide it. The contrast between her voice and the huge smile on her face was quite a sight.
Muteki tried to keep his cool even now.
“There’s no way we would ever come down there. If all you want is the compass, then why not just take Kazuki with you and torture him until he coughs it up…”
Before Muteki could finish what he was going to say, Kazuki held up his ring in his hand for all to see and threatened.
“I would crush this ring before she touches me and the compass would be destroyed along with everything else inside. Reya, the only way you get this compass is if they all die, plain and simple.”
Reya turned back to Muteki and shrugged her shoulders.
“So he says.”
Muteki felt things were getting worse and worse but there was one thing that gave him relief. Since Reya couldn’t use magic then that meant that she couldn’t fly. As long as they stayed up in the air, She would never be able to touch them.
*Hergnhh*
Just as he thought that Reya leaned forward and something began to move and bulge on her back.
*Guurh*
Reya released a small grunt and two wings exploded out of her back and grew until they were over 10 feet. They were shaped similarly to bats wings.
Muteki and everyone else shrunk back and Varia cried out in terror.
“She’s a Magic Beast!”
Reya grinned and whispered.
“Fine, guess I’ll come to you.”
She then tossed the man in her hand and with her overwhelming strength, she launched him directly at Muteki and the others at a crazy speed.
Muteki and the others dodged the man and saw Reya charging at them in the air and he shouted.
“Watch out!”
