After the first book, Kazuki leaped into the air again and hooked his finger in the ceiling. Using his ki he scanned through the book quickly and efficiently before moving on to the next one and then the one after that. Five minutes, that was all it took for Kazuki to read all 7 books and memorize them.
Kazuki made his way for the exit. He only had 7 books on the 4th stage in his mind but going through them, he already found plenty of useful tips. He needed more time to comprehend and process everything he had just taken in but he was now more confident in his future progress.
Kazuki stopped in front of the door leading out and turned around. He could see the power-hungry guard still standing at the entrance to the 2nd floor. Kazuki fished out another gold Zeni and a thought crossed his mind.
Making sure no eyes were on him, Kazuki put strength into his thumb, a bit of ki added along as well and he flicked it forward. The coin zipped by in an arc and hit the guard directly in the chest with a heavy impact.
*Whack*
The guard felt as though a hammer had hit him directly in the chest and he fell to his knees and began groaning and heaving as he struggled for air.
Several guards noticed something was wrong with him and raced over but the man couldn’t even speak at the moment. He hacked and coughed and his face went blue from lack of air and pain. Finally, he lost consciousness and the other guards called for help.
Kazuki turned around and left, a sly smile on his face.
(That won’t kill him but damn if that didn’t feel good. Attacking him immediately after he confronted me would have exposed me and trouble would have followed but waiting only a few minutes later before laying him out, somehow it’s just as gratifying.)
Kazuki took a step out of the library and a large man with red hair stood in front of him. Kazuki thought the man was about to start something but instead, he seemed to just be looking for someone. The Man glared at Kazuki’s hair but said nothing and looked past him and into the library.
(Weird.)
—————————————————————————-
Reya had just dropped a bolder bigger than a house on the city below her and called Kazuki out.
Looking at all the screaming and panic-induced humans running about like chickens with their heads cut off was a nice thrill and stress reliever. Reya’s red eyes glowed brightly as she grew excited watching this destructive scene below her.
(Kazuki’s in this human city, so he should have received my message loud and clear. He’ll come or his friends will die. Even if this is a bust, I at least know he’s here. If he doesn’t show by the allotted time, I will camp this city and harass it every day until they force him out. Otherwise…)
Reya caught a glance at something shooting up from below her.
*Schink*
Reya twisted her neck to the side and a blade ran across her face, carving out a chunk of her cheek. Purplish black blood ran down her face but a few seconds later it was completely fine. Reya turned her head back and looked at the one who threw it. A woman with long golden blonde hair slowly floated up into the air until she was level with Reya. The woman wore silver armor over her entire body and floated only 10 feet away from Reya. She held out her hand in front of Reya and spoke calmly.
“What is the name of the one I am about to destroy?”
Reya scoffed before laughing loudly.
“Bwahahahaha, destroy me! Bitch, you couldn’t destroy me even if there were a thous…Guh!”
Reya’s words froze in her mouth as she found three sharp blades coming out from her chest.
(When did this bitch.)
The blonde headed warrior continued to hold her hand outward and the blades sticking out of Reya’s chest pushed further from her back to her front until.
*Rippp*
Reya’s entire body was torn in half. Her legs fell toward the ground below her and her top half continued to fly. The blade that ripped her in half flew forward and landed in the blonde warrior’s hands. The woman spun it in a circle and Reya’s blood that had stained it just a second ago was flung off.
The woman pointed a silver-white trident at Reya.
“I’ll ask you once more. What name should I record? For someone with your strength you must be famous, tell me your name so that I can mark off another powerhouse that I’ve taken out.”
Tendrils of purplish-black blood stretched out from Reya’s top half and she began to reform her entire lower half in real-time. The blonde warrior grumbled a bit seeing this.
“You are not human. Wings upon your back, purplish-black blood, and nearly instant healing. You should be some type of Magical beast but I’ve never heard or seen one like you.”
The woman paused for a moment before a thought occurred.
“You…You are an Azirian.”
Reya neither confirmed nor denied. Right now she solely focused on healing. She had seen the trident coming for her the first time but when it came back, she hadn’t noticed its presence whatsoever before it had already entered through her back. Its speed had multiplied and it the weapon itself was strong enough to penetrate Reya’s tough body.
(This botches weapon is a magic tool and by the looks of it a powerful one at that. No matter, I simply have to remove her weapon, and then she’s just a human, just like the rest.)
Reya’s lower half was almost entirely done regrowing. She slowly floated over toward the blonde woman and chuckled.
“And if I am an Azirian, would you be terrified, hehehe.”
The blonde woman shook her head.
“No. If you are a monster then your name no longer matters. Die!”
The woman swung her trident down and the air in front of it tore apart as it came slashing down. At this point though Reya had already gotten within range and both f her wings came in front of her and made a shield of meat.
(As soon as her trident hits my wings, it will dull and slow down the impact. I’ll take that opportunity to reach out and snatch her weapon from her and the tables will turn.)
*Bam*
The blond warrior’s trident landed upon Reya’s wings just as Reya had planned.
(Now to take her weapon from her.)
Reya’s hands came out from behind her wings and she grabbed the trident with both hands and pulled.
Unfortunately.
*Slash shinck schick shinck slash*
As soon as Reya touched the weapon, dozens of wind blades came out from it and cut deeply into Reya’s body. Both of her hands were severed at once. Reya realized the power behind these wind blades and pulled her wings tighter over herself to protect her head.
The blades of wind formed from the trident though were not like the 3rd stage at all and tore into her wings.
Reya knew right away.
(4th stage.)
A wind blade broke through her wings the moment she thought of this and Reya was forced backward. The wind blade followed after her though and once more cut her body in half from the waist down.
Reya’s eyes widened as she felt more wind blades form at the tip of the trident. The blonde woman pointed her trident at Reya and calmly spoke.
“Die monster.”
nearly a dozen wind blades were launched from the tip of the trident and Reya didn’t hesitate. She flapped her torn wings as fast and as hard as she could and she dove toward the ground. The wind blades chased her though. She could feel them whistling behind her as they ripped the air apart in pursuit.
Reya focused on the tears in her wings and healed them at once. She flapped her wings hard once more and her descent toward the city sped up.
(Let’s see if you’ll kill these humans to get to me.)
Just as Reya was about to hit the ground, her wings opened with a *Fhwapp* and stretched out to a ridiculous span. Her body caught the air and she was pushed up at an angle. The blades just missed her and flew past her body like dozens of flying swords.
Just as the wind blades were about to land in a large crowd, the woman casually waved her trident and the wind blades dispersed and became a large gush of wind instead. Several people were knocked over from the force of wind and pushed back and a few people tumbled about but no one was seriously injured.
Reya folded her wings once more and landed upon the ground. Her toes dug into the stone road and she kicked off with all of her strength. Her body blurred from her insane speed and she leaped up and out of the city in one go. Once she landed upon the ground outside of the city, she didn’t take to the skies again and pushed her self as she fled on foot.
The woman in the sky was surprised by this and grumbled to her self.
(She escaped me. That speed on the ground, she’s several times faster than when she was in the air with me.)
The woman watched Reya for a few miles until she could no longer see her with her eyes. At this time someone flew up to the sky behind her and saluted.
“Boss!”
The blonde warrior turned around and saw a man dressed fully in black. He had a dagger in his hand that dripped with fresh blood. In his other hand sat a crystal orb.
“Is that about Degra?”
The man in black nodded.
“In a way, yes. As you know, there was an incident in his casino involving a few customers. After that, he sent men to follow said customers and you had us follow his men. Well, I discovered one of their subordinates with this recording crystal orb. After a few exchanges, I can say he won’t be going home to the wife and kids, hehe.”
The blonde warrior didn’t laugh at this joke from her subordinate and the man in black coughed awkwardly before filling the crystal with some power.
“You’ll want to see this. The person Degra was following is a wanted man by King Garn himself. The wanted man in question is called Ryuta. I’ve already checked on his background but there wasn’t much. We don’t even know what crime he’s committed just that the King wants him personally.”
“Who cares about the King. Why does my rival…Why is Degra interested in him?”
