(Devour…Devour…Devour…DEVOUR!)
A curse rang out inside Abura and a flash of something fiendish appeared within his eyes.
Abura turned around and looked at the large rock in front of him.
(Devour.)
2 large fleshy wings sprouted from Abura’s back. Kicking off the ground, he flapped his wings and took to the skies. He flapped his wings and flew higher and higher as the noise in his mind ceased to stop.
(Devour.)
100 feet, 200, 1000. Abura hovered in the sky above and focused his attention on the rock sealing the entrance of the cave.
(DEVOUR!)
Abura’s body shook before he tilted his body downward and dove towards the ground like a wrecking ball.
*Flap flap*
His wings flapped harder and harder and his fat body accelerated a few times. His speed increased and the air was screamed past his head. With his momentum building, Abura held no fear or emotion whatsoever. His expression never changed for even a moment but were one to look closely, they might spot something off.
*Flap flap*
600 feet, 300, 100.
*Bam!*
Abura’s heavy body struck the giant rock like a meteor of death.
Asuna and Shin who were brawling with one another became unbalanced from the ground shaking and nearly fell. Their fight was temporarily paused as the two as well as Sam and the rest felt a gush of air rush in along with sharp dagger-like rocks. Luckily the cave was shaped in such a way, that all of this debris that came exploding in, encountered part of a wall, diverting most of the danger to them.
Outward, the rocks flying everywhere simply fell no empty snow-covered ground. They had no clue what was happening and figured that Reya must have come back pissed. Maybe her talk with Kazuki didn’t go as planned, they could only speculate. All around them, their world was covered in dust and Kimi lost concentration, causing her orb of light to go out.
“What the fuck was that?”
Shin broke the silence but no one knew.
“An earthquake, maybe.”
Danny made a random guess but he knew he was wrong as soon as he said it and changed his thoughts.
“No, an avalanche, Nah that doesn’t sound right either. Such an explosion, maybe a volcano went off.”
“Danny do you really think there’s a volcano around here. It’s clearly Reya. That bastard Kazuki probably turned Reya down right away and she’s come back to vent on us. I knew he didn’t care about us.”
Asuna’s voice was cold. She felt the most betrayed by Kazuki and her anger had yet to cool.
As the dust began to settle, everyone could hear a heavy set of footsteps making their way into the small cave.
Kimi, nearly exhausted her self, using up her power. She formed another orb in her hand and pushed it forward.
(Not much energy left. Without a tool, this is incredibly difficult. I can at least see what just walked in though.)
Kimi’s small orb flickered, it’s source clearly running out. Only after a few seconds did she finally get her power to steady and her orb once again lit up the cave.
The first thing they saw was a pair of eyes the color of blood.
(Devour…Devour.)
Abura took a step forward and as he did, his fingers stretched outward and formed animal-like claws. His jaw parted and each of his teeth extended slightly and sharpened at the ends like small jagged daggers.
Everyone could tell that something was wrong. Abura had tried to eat them all at some point or another but this time it was different. This time he actively changed his body to become more predator-like. Shin and Asuna were both near exhaustion levels in terms of stamina. Along with Kimi, who had a whole other toll taken upon her and with her not having an arm. The odds were clearly stacked.
Everyone realized the situation was bad. Abura was off his leash again but this time there was no Reya to put him in check and 3 people were basically useless.
Asuna quickly shouted at Sam.
“Sam! Push him back! We can’t fight him in this small cave like this, it will become our tomb.”
Abura heard Asuna’s voice and he rushed straight for her. Abura was already a fast one in life but turning into an Azirian, he still maintained his speed. He appeared in front of Asuna, with a claw outstretched.
Asuna tried to step back but she was completely unprepared for this attack.
Shin gnashed his teeth. His hand reached forward and grabbed Asuna by the arm and yanked her to his side. Asuna was surprised by this but neither one had time to relax after that opening move. Abura’s body stopped in mid-stride. He kicked off the ground and turned upon them. His claw slashing down at the two’s heads.
*Thud*
Sam’s arms came up like an X and he took the blow for the two. His feet sunk into the ground by 2 inches but he managed to just barely hold his ground. If Abura had used both his hands in that attack, well Sam didn’t want to think about that.
Sam didn’t hesitate. Right after his feet sunk into the ground, He grabbed Abura’s fat wrist with one hand and grabbed under his shoulder with the other. Twisting his body and flexing his hip, he tossed Abura over his shoulder and sent him flying towards the wall.
*Bang!*
Abura crashed heavily and was down. Asuna and Shin feeling death only a few inches away and avoiding it, felt their already tired bodies pick up even more fatigue and they both collapsed to their knees.
Sam however yelled at them in this moment.
“Get the fuck up! He’s not done yet!”
Right after he said that Sam rushed at Abura. Abura got up and was unharmed. Just as he was about to step forward, Sam tackled him into the wall. Then with both arms, Sam wrapped them around Abura’s big body in a bear hug. He couldn’t wrap his arms entirely around Abura but he managed to get a good grip from all the extra fat handles. Sam exerted his strength and lifted Abura up off the ground and began to, while struggling, step by step, walk him out of the cave.
Abura was only a few feet from the entrance of the cave but why would he simply allow himself to be pushed out of here. Abura’s clawed hand grabbed Sam’s side and squeezed. 5 sharp claws penetrated Sam’s side and dug into him. Blood started to pour out right then and there.
Asuna and Shin helped one another up and Asuna barked at Danny.
“What the hell are you doing? Get in there and help Sam! Kimi, you too, all of us! We must push him out of here or we’ll be trapped!”
Asuna felt all of her muscles on fire and she regretted fighting Shin but there was nothing she could do about it now as she charged ahead.
Shin knew she was right and was right behind her. Asuna’s Slammed into Sam’s back and began pushing his body forward, helping him move Abura. At the same time, Shin grabbed Abura’s arm and pulled ferociously. The claws in Sam’s side would barely budge.
(Shit shit shit. Concentrate, dig deep.)
Shin placed his hand over Abura’s hand and imagined the viper whip. A small blade of wind, only a few inches across actually came out. Like a small blade, Shin held it in his hand and cut at Abura’s fingers.
*Schink*
All though he was using all of his effort, only small wounds were forming on Abura’s fingers.
(Goddammit it’s not working.)
Kimi ran forward. Although her body was already on the verge of collapse she still picked up a large rock and began to bash Abura repeatedly in the eyes. If she could take his eyes, it would drastically lower his chance of landing any attacks.
Aburr squirmed about in Sam’s arms and also dug his claw further into Sam’s side. Sam lost a bit of strength and Abura’s feet touched the ground once more. Abura’s steps paused and he was no longer pushed back. He dug his feet into the ground and countered. Taking a step into the ground, he moved everybody back a few inches. Sam’s eyes widened and his veins pulsed as though they were going to burst at any moment. His muscles screamed at him and his heart roared as it pumped harder and faster.
The few inches they had just lost, Sam’s will power helped them regain it. Now though it was a deadlock. The two sides pushed against one another but no one was gaining any ground.
Asuna cursed inside her heart.
(If only we had our rings or at least if I had my daggers. This fat bastard…move already!)
It was at this moment that Asuna noticed Danny wasn’t helping them. He was still near the back of the cave. Asuna was filled with rage.
“DANNY! WE NEED YOU! NOW COME!”
Danny didn’t move though. He remained perfectly still and everyone felt some loss inside. If Danny didn’t help then there was no way, they could get Abura out of here. If they couldn’t fight him on open ground instead of in such a small and confined place where they couldn’t maneuver properly, then they would most definitely lose. To lose to a mindless monster who only wishes to eat them, that was a frightening way to go.
“FOR FUCK’S SAKE DANNY, HELP US!”
Still, Danny didn’t move.
Abura squeezed harder and more blood spilled out from Sam’s side, soaking the ground. The ground started to become slick from the blood and sweat pulling at their feet and they could feel Abura starting to move them backward.
Asuna screamed at everyone.
“DON’T GIVE UP! IF WE STOP FOR EVEN A MOMENT THEN WE ALL DIE! PUT EVERYTHING IN IT, PUT YOUR ALL AND PU…”
As Asuna roared these words, there was a reflective glint off of the cave wall followed by the air being torn apart.
*SCHINK!*
