As soon as Kazuki gave out his orders and everyone said yes there was no hesitation. Kazuki had a long steel blade in his right hand and a small plate shield strapped to his left arm.
“Tsura, give me a lift!”
Kazuki leaped into the air and Tsura swept underneath and caught him on her back. carrying him upward to meet Triska face to face. At the same time as Kazuki came up, Triska’s trident shot forward right toward Kazuki’s face.
*Clank*
With a side slash, Kazuki managed to deflect it but Tsura’s moment was stolen and she paused in mid-air.
Triska didn’t wait around and dove down to meet Kazuki and Tsura face to face.
Triska was fast, too fast. She appeared before Kazuki could react and her fist was already about to land upon his face. Kazuki pumped his eyes full of ki and he could see her movements a little more clearly but she was still moving far too fast.
(Guess I should start as well.)
With that single thought, the helmet upon Degra’s head activated. Inscriptions lit up all at once and several eyes metallic yet life-like eyes on his white helmet all opened at once. Each eye looked exactly like his true eyes. They were yellowed like a snake r a cat and shined in many directions all at once.
The fist flying at Kazuki was slowed drastically and Kazuki managed to dodge it with a weave. At the same time, he grabbed Triska’s wrist. Flexing his hips he pivoted on his planted foot and attempted to throw her but his movements were stopped. Triska’s strength was far above his and she physically wasn’t moving. She smirked at Kazuki.
“You’ll have to do better if you want to throw me.”
Kazuki flashed a grin.
“Good to know. Tsura, do it.”
Tsura’s taloned foot came up like a sledgehammer and kicked Triska in the face. Her reduced movement and her guard up against Kazuki, she didn’t even think about Tsura at all. Tsura didn’t stop there. Kazuki held onto Tsura’s feathers with one hand and gripped and kept Triska’s wrist in his other while Tsura tucked her wings and did a barrel roll in mid-air. Triska had no choice but to be thrown.
Triska went flying for barely a second before a gush of wind flipped her upright and she regained her balance. The look on her face changing entirely.
“I see, you two are clever.”
*WHoosh*
The air whistled.
“Too bad you’re not clever enough.”
“Kazuki look out!”
Nunully’s scream ripped through the sky and a thick blue shield of ice appeared behind him.
*Crack crack crack*
Kazuki didn’t have time to look behind him as he kicked off as hard as he could from Tsura’s back, pushing him up dozens of feet, while at the same time causing Tsura to fall toward the ground. As soon as the two separated, Nunully’s wall could hold it no more and shattered as Triska’s trident exploded out from the other side of it. Her trident stopped right before her face before flipping over and floating down at her side and into her hand.
“Very good. You actually managed to dodge that. My body may be slower now because of Degra but his eyes do nothing to my trident.”
Tsura recovered and flew upward and caught Kazuki. The two leveled out and hovered in the air.
“Sorry about kicking you.”
Kazuki apologized to Tsura but it’s not like she could respond back, not in her Mangshi form.
Kazuki gave a thumbs up to Nunully on the ground before he quickly gave a side glance to Asuna and Kimi.
The two acknowledge him and Triska noticed but she could care less.
“Do you think you have time to look away from me boy! let’s try this again!”
Triska lifted her Trident and aimed at Kazuki before she launched it forward like a demonic beast.
“LOCK!”
“BEAM OF LIGHT!”
Two shouts rang out simultaneously. Triska’s trident which had been racing forward suddenly froze mid-air and a laser-like light shot toward Triska’s eyes.
Triska didn’t expect this but she still reacted in time. She blocked her vision with her arm and she felt a small burn on her arm. It did little damage to her flesh but had it hit her open eyes, surely they would have burst into flame or melted. As soon as the light was gone she lowered her arm and Kazuki was already swinging his sword down upon her neck.
*Ching*
The sound of metal rang out as Triska caught Kazuki’s steel blade with a single hand. Her body was actually so hard that his sword hadn’t even left a mark and had sounded like metal colliding with metal.
Triska squeezed Kazuki’s sword and it shattered to pieces. At the same time, Asuna called out.
“I can’t hold it!”
This time Tsura was ready and she ascended up high as Triska’s now freed trident passed under them and stopped in front of Triska’s face once more. The very next moment, the Trident changed direction and chased after Kazuki and Tsura.
While this was happening, Degra, Sam, Danny, and Shin had Reya surrounded. Degra held a blade made of black energy in his hand.
Pointing it at Sam he ordered.
“You the big one, be my wall and try to deal with her legs. The other two, you two make sure she can’t get away. I’ll do the rest.”
Sam and the others didn’t know who this guy was but he came with Kazuki and that was enough for them.
Reya though was feeling confident. Maybe she couldn’t take on Kazuki and his entire group but if it was half of them.
(They are still only in the third stage. Even with my speed reduced, I can destroy them.)
Reya’s left arm turned into a blade of flesh, while her right turned into a huge monstrous-looking claw. She grinned at Degra and the others and called them over.
“What are you all waiting for, COME!”
One of the eyes on Degra’s helmet focused on Reya and she felt some odd pressure slow her. Degra’s blade turned toward Reya and he coldly said.
“Funny, I was going to say something along those exact lines. Ah well, here I come!”
Degra kicked off the ground and his body blurred as it accelerated forward. In the blink of an eye, he was already in front of Reya, swinging at her neck.
(Foolish, a frontal attack on me.)
Reya’s reached forward and clawed at Degra’s face. Just as she was about to leave several holes in his face, Degra’s form blurred again. He lowered his body and ducked under her swing. Placing his body weight on his left leg, he stomped the ground in front of himself and accelerated even faster, going past her. Pivoting off his landing foot, he turned and swung his sword at the back of her neck.
Reya’s two wings exploded out of her back and caught Degra’s blade. At the same time as his blade was caught, several long fleshy spikes erupted from her back and aimed to take Degra’s life. Degra abandoned his caught blade and kicking off the ground he retreated backward by nearly 20 feet. Reya’s spikes didn’t stop growing and stretched out chasing after him.
*Bam!*
Sam wasn’t one to wait around and got in between the two and slammed his hammer down on several of the spikes, badly damaging them. Shin and Danny followed up right after. Shin and Danny both slashed down with their own swords they had gotten from Kazuki and with the spike being damaged already from Sam, their blades severed the fleshy spikes.
The spikes writhed on the ground spraying purplish-black blood all over, while Reya cursed out loud.
“Damn you humans! I’ll murder you all!”
Degra sighed inwardly before a new blade of dark energy formed in his hands.
“Nice work lackeys, now keep it up.”
Shin and Danny wanted to be annoyed at his comments but now wasn’t the time or rather there was no time to be annoyed in the first place.
Before anyone could make the next move, the hundreds of subordinates of both Triska and Degra had now arrived and in one loud almost harmonious shout, both sides exploded with a…
“KILL THEM!!”
*Fwoosh*
*Whoosh*
*SHaaa*
*Boom!*
Before the two sides fought with blades, the Mages on both sides launched their magic simultaneously. Fireballs, daggers made from ice, earth spears and blades of wind, beams of light, erupted all at once. With this one attack, both sides immediately suffered casualties before the regular ones or the enhanced ones could even engage with one another.
This first volley had left small craters on the ground like fallen meteors and left many dead. Severed limbs, broken bones, flesh hanging on by small bits of skin, this happened all over in just this first exchange. Shouts and screams for help were not uncommon as chaos spread in one fell swoop.
But this…all of this was just the start.
