A large hole was left in Danny’s chest. His body became heavy and he could no longer feel his breath. Danny collapsed to the ground and a puddle of blood formed around his body. He was dead.
~o~O~o~
Moments before this happened. Triska was still mid-fight with Kazuki and the others.
Her trident chased after Kazuki and Tsura through the skies. Tsura found herself flying further and further away from the battlefield. Eventually, the two were nearly 1000 feet from the battle or rather 1000 feet away from Triska. Her trident began to waver in the air and turned around and flew back to her.
Kazuki observed it closely and found its movements odd.
“Tsura, I believe thats her limit. Past a thousand feet and she seems to have trouble controlling her trident. I don’t know if we can use this just keep it in mind.”
*Scree*
Let’s hurry back.
Triska’s trident stopped in front of her face and she snatched it out of the air.
(So they know the range of my weapon. That won’t be enough to stop me.)
As Kazuki and Tsura came racing back, Triska was about to launch her trident once more when a beam of light shot toward her eye. Her aim was off because of this and it flew at a bad angle, zooming past Tsura’s talons.
Asuna reached into the sky and her eyes glowed purple as she tried something.
The trident that was flying off into the distance vanished in mid-air and reappeared in her hands.
(It worked.)
Asuna then attempted to store it in her storage ring but nothing happened. Kazuki saw her with the trident and called out.
“Asuna, get that away from the battle. She can’t use it if it’s more than 1000 feet away, GO!”
Asuna didn’t hesitate and turned and ran as fast as possible. She looked into the distance and she did some quick calculations as she measured the distance and called out in her mind.
(Blink!)
Asuna teleported 200 feet away.
Just as she was about to teleport once more she felt a pull on the trident. She jumped forward but as soon as her feet left the ground, her body was jerked backward and dragged up into the sky. Before she had a chance to react, she was already 600 feet up in the air.
“Asuna!”
Asuna instinctively let go. If she wound up in Triska’s hands then her death was guaranteed.
Kazuki saw Asuna falling.
“Tsura go!”
Tsura flapped her wings and dove toward Asuna. At the same time, Triska once more had her trident in her hand. She aimed at the falling Asuna.
(Pest.)
She threw her Trident at Asuna.
Asuna wasn’t worried though. As the trident came rushing forward, Asuna reached out.
(Lock.)
The trident froze in place and never touched her.
Triska was not having it though.
(You can stop my trident but let’s see if you can stop me.)
Triska took a step on the air and as soon as she moved she felt a change.
(This is.)
Her entire body felt extremely light and her movements were no longer restricted.
(Degra’s power isn’t working.)
Triska’s eyes quickly scanned the battlefield and delight shone within them when she spotted Degra lying face down in the snow.
(He’s dead, that Azirian actually did it! Hmm…)
Triska witnessed Danny appear by Reya and saw him lop off her arm in one go.
(That boy’s blade is incredibly sharp.)
The very next moment she saw Danny pierce Reya’s chest and cut through her and she grew alarmed.
(No! I need that woman. This battle is still not guaranteed. If she dies now, Thakriss may not believe she was actually a threat. If he doesn’t see her abilities firsthand, he may break off the deal and say I was lying. Dumb fucking monster, can’t you even keep your own head.)
Triska’s trident returned in front of her. She grabbed it and flipped it around. Her target in sight, Triska launched it forward.
Danny’s blade tore through Reya and separated her upper half from her lower half in one swing of the blade. She fell apart quite literally and blood purplish-black blood soaked the ground.
Danny smiled and shouted.
“I did it. I actually did…”
*GUSHAA!*
Triska’s trident tore through Danny’s back as though he were made of paper. Shooting out from his chest, it pierced the ground in front of him.
Danny looked down and thought.
(How strange.)
*Thud*
He collapsed onto the snow-covered ground. He was dead.
Although there was chaos and fighting all around, within the heads of those who knew Danny was a dead silence. They didn’t understand or rather they couldn’t understand what had just happened. One moment Danny was celebrating in front of them, the next he was dead. This didn’t make sense, it couldn’t. Danny was one of them, just a regular kid from Earth. How could this be, how could this actually happen?
“FINISH HER!”
Kazuki’s roar broke them out of their stupor but they were still frozen in place.
“KILL REYA BEFORE SHAE CAN RECOVER!”
Sam and the others, turned their attention to Reya. Without arms and no wings to carry her off and legs completely separated from her body. Reya could neither hide nor flee. If they didn’t finish her now, they may never get the chance to. Kazuki’s shout once more entered their heads.
“DO IT NOW!!”
Sam grit his teeth and gripped his hammer and rushed over. At the same time, Triska’s blade shot out toward him.
*SHWAAA*
A wall of ice blocked the trident for only a moment before it shattered it and flew towards Sam’s open back.
“LOCK!”
The trident froze in mid-air and Sam appeared in front of Reya. Reya’s eyes widened in horror as she felt the threat of death loom over her.
Sam wasted no time. He held his hammer high above his head and swung down with all of his might.
(No I can’t die, not like this.)
Reya couldn’t move properly but that didn’t mean she was helpless. Dozens of fleshy spikes exploded out of her body and met Sam’s blow. Several of her spikes were bent but she didn’t die. Sam brought his hammer up again and swung it back down. Again, Reya made more and more spike to defend herself.
Shin ran over and raised his leg and performed an ax kick.
(VIPER WHIP!)
3 blades of wind several feet long came slicing down and cut partly through Reya’s spikes. Added with Sam’s strikes, the two began destroying her spikes left and right.
Triska grew aggravated.
(I have to do everything myself.)
She was about to dive down and take care of the situation but Kazuki appeared by her side on Tsura’s back.
He pulled out a brand new sword from his storage ring and sliced towards her neck. Triska snorted at him and exposed her neck to him on purpose. Kazuki thought she was nuts but he took the opportunity anyway.
*Clank Chii*
Kazuki’s sword met Triska’s neck and the expected did not happen. Instead, Kazuki’s sword shattered to pieces when it collided with her neck. Triska rubbed the place on her neck as though it was a little sore but besides that, there was no damage. She then reached forward at a speed Kazuki couldn’t keep up with and grabbed his shoulder.
Squeezing down.
*Crunch*
His shoulder broke.
*EURR!*
Kazuki grunted in pain and tried to pull away but Triska’s strength was too much and he couldn’t even budge an inch.
“Die.”
A wall of ice came between the two at this moment but it meant nothing to Triska. Her hand fist was only slowed but it broke Nunully’s wall of ice in less than a second. Kazuki was already moving though. He couldn’t avoid her punch fully and turned his body sideways. at the same time, he reached up with his other hand, a small blue flame in his palm landed on Triska’s hand gripping his shoulder.
Triska was ready to ignore this small flame but just before it touched her, she could already feel an incredible heat emanating from it and she could see the top layer of her skin start to blister.
She tore her hand away from Kazuki’s shoulder and avoided his flame, at the same time this threw off her punch. That, along with Kazuki’s movement, and Triska only managed to graze his side. At the same time though…
*Crack Snap*
Kazui was sent flying off of Tsura from this blow. Asuna’s eyes glowed and she teleported into the air and caught Kazuki before teleporting again onto the ground so they didn’t crash.
Asuna began to breathe heavily as she felt a bit tired from repeatedly using her power. Kazuki gripped his shoulder and inspected the damage.
(Damn, my shoulder is fucked and this blondie broke two of my ribs with just a graze. This isn’t working.)
Before Tsura could fly away, Triska raised a hand up and brought it down like a heavy club atop Tsura’s head.
*Thump*
Tsura was knocked unconscious and crashed toward the ground. Asuna saw this and wanted to help but she was too late.
*THUD*
Tsura lay limply on the ground.
Triska flew down and her trident appeared in front of her once more. Snatching it from the air she flipped it around and aimed at Sam again.
(Here’s a present.)
Triska cocked back and threw.
*Fwoosh*
