Made from metal and standing 12 feet tall, these four golems surrounding Kazuki were not something to trifle with.
Kazuki stood in the center of them all and then all at once they attacked. A rain of fist came from above from two metal golems while the other two merged into the ground and shot up several sharp metal spikes.
*Thud thud schnik schnik*
Kazuki’s eyes widened and he observed all of these attacks carefully. To him, they all seemed to be moving at a snail’s pace. Kazuki’s body blurred and he moved. Grabbing one of the golem’s fists, he squeezed it and his fingers actually sunk into the metal and warped it. Kazuki twisted slightly and the golem’s entire arm was torn off. At the same time, Kazuki threw the loose arm at the other golem knocking it off balance and halting it’s attacks briefly.
Metal spikes breached the ground from below and were headed towards Kazuki’s feet, legs, cock, and waist. Jumping into the air, each one missed and then retraced back into the ground for another strike.
Kazuki brought his knee up and delivered it to the jaw of the golem who was already off-balance.
*Bang!*
Kazuki’s knee collided with the golems head and the sound of the two clashing resembled metal crashing against metal instead of flesh to flesh. The golem’s head flew off into the distance somewhere.
Kazuki smiled confidently but he also sensed an attack from behind. Twisting his body in mid-air, a large barrel sized fist whizzed past his face. Using the momentum of his turn in the air, Kazuki delivered an elbow to the other golem’s head. Once more another head flew revealing a Magic core. Kazuki gave it a flick indicating that it was his win against that one and that golem responded by no longer moving.
After being in the air for this time, gravity pulled at Kazuki sending him back toward the ground. This time ten metal spikes exploded upward stabbing toward Kazuki.
Just as he was about to be impaled by these sharp objects, Kazuki’s magic moved.
*Fshhhhh*
Two orange flames erupted beneath Kazuki’s feet and propelled him upward. Kazuki hovered safely above these spikes and he even increased the temperature to such that the metal spikes began to bubble and melt into liquid metal. The surrounding area began to grow hot and the spikes retreated back into the ground.
“Not so fast!”
Kazuki exerted his strength and stomped on the ground with everything he had.
*BOOOOOM!*
The ground exploded and sunk for hundreds of feet in every direction. everyone could feel the land trembling under them and they were awed at Kazuki’s strength.
“This isn’t fair. Kazuki’s way too strong.”
Shin grumbled a complaint. Asuna on the other hand smiled and teased.
“What’s wrong Shin, afraid you’ll never catch up?”
Shin just smirked.
“Who are you to tease? I may be at this level now but who knows where I’ll be later. catching up to Kazuki, I still have a chance. As for catching things, do you think you’ll ever catch Kazuki’s attention if you keep acting like an ass to everyone?”
Asuna got in Shin’s face.
“Who acts like an ass? Have you not looked in the mirror? Because from here all I see is a donkey.”
The two argued back and forth but everyone else just ignored them. They had gotten used to the two going off on one another and actually, this was pretty tame to how they used to be.
After the ground cratered out, the two golems were both revealed. Both suffered a bit of damage but because they were underground it wasn’t much. With their bodies regenerating rapidly, the damage was quickly fading.
Kazuki knew he had to hurry up and continue to press if he was going to inflict any real harm.
Kazuki grabbed one of the golems by the legs and tossed its several-ton body high into the air.
(One golem in the air, the other just outside of this crater, and one pinned beneath me, I have a few seconds to do this before they gang up on me.)
Kazuki climbed on top of the other one and clenched his fist.
*Bam Bam Bang*
He delivered a few rapid punches to the golem’s chest. Each one caused the metal to crunch and warp inwardly but it wasn’t enough to penetrate the golem’s defenses.
The golem beneath Kazuki reached up with both of its arms and grabbed one of his, holding it back. At the same time, it slowly began to sit up and the golem outside of the crater quickly descended and grabbed Kazuki’s other arm.
(These things know to stop my arms.)
The third golem fell down but just before it crashed into the ground, it merged with it instead before surfacing its head out, completely unaffected. Two golems held both his arms and the other golem raced through the ground.
Asuna got worried seeing this.
“Senior, this doesn’t look good. Stop them!”
Glacious watched closely before shaking his head.
“Kazuki has won this round. Your concern is unnecessary, watch.”
The golem in the ground turned its arm into a metal spike and stabbed through the ground, aiming directly for Kazuki’s face.
Kazuki gathered his magic before roaring.
*HAAAAAAAAAAAAAA*
As he did that, a blue exploded out of his mouth like a flamethrower.
*FSSSSSSHHHHHH*
His blue flame melted the spike, instantly turning it into liquid yet his flame didn’t stop there. His breath extended outward and he pushed the flame forward until it fully encompassed the metal golem. As the golem was bathed in blue fire, it melted into a large puddle. Kazuki then turned his attention to the two golems holding him. With a slight turn of his head he melted the other down in a second and with one arm free he exerted his strength and tore the limbs off of the other golem before proceeding to beat the golem with its own limbs. The fight was over.
Glacious gave a soft clap witnessing this.
Kazuki walked over a feeling of satisfaction welling up within him.
“Good job young Kazuki. You finally managed to best my strongest golems today.”
“It’s all thanks to Senior’s help. I just can’t believe how tough they are. Their bodies are made from a strange metal, that’s hard for me to damage using all of my strength and then those magic cores inside these golems are different from your other golems. My blue flame melted their bodies but didn’t even leave so much as a scorch mark on those cores. The other cores in the weaker golems seem to be made from mana crystal but the metal ones are made from something else. What is it?”
“Hmm, to explain would take too long and I’d have to search my own memory for that. Just wait until you get that memory from one of my Magic blood orbs. You’ll understand everything then.”
Glacious saw the flames still roaring in the crater Kazuki made and reached out preparing to quell the flames when at this time, Etora and Mei landed nearby.
“Wait a moment big brother, let me have those tasty flames.”
Glacious rolled his eyes and laughed.
“Etora, how come you appear out of the woodwork every time there’s a meal to be had?”
Etora shrugged his shoulders.
“I can’t help it big bro. It’s cause of this nose of mine. As soon as I smell something yummy, I got to eat it. Otherwise, I feel like I’m starving.”
Etora walked directly into the epicenter of the fire. The flames danced around him and just when they were about to come into contact with his clothes, Etora opened his mouth as wide as possible and inhaled deeply.
All at once, the flames jumped off from the ground and all around and raced into Etora’s open mouth. Etora continued to inhale for several seconds until every flame had disappeared into his gullet.
After it was all said and done, the golems began to quickly regenerate. The molten metal cooled and solidified before wrapping around the magic cores and once more reforming into 12-foot tall golems.
Etora licked his lips in delight.
“So good so damn good. Kazuki whenever you’re bored and want to throw some flames around toss them my way. I’ll happily devour every single one of them!”
Kazuki, Asuna, and the others all stared at Etora dumbfoundedly. They still hadn’t gotten used to seeing Etora do that. They had faced so many opponents, s many foes, that could only be destroyed by Kazuki’s blue flame but here Etora was eating them in delight. Strange, far too strange.
Mei ran over and jumped on Etora, pulling at his arm.
“No time for this Mr. wolf, no time. We have to go!”
Asuna wondered what was going on.
“Mei, why are you rushing, whats got you in such a hurry?”
“Big sis, we both got some special foods in the forest and mama said next time we get them, she would cook them for us. Everyone knows mama’s cooking is the best. If she also uses some of the bestest ingredients then who knows what amazingly tasty food she’ll be able to create. That’s why we have to hurry back home so mama can cook it as soon as possible. The faster we get home, the faster we can eats. So we have to hurry.”
Everyone understood exactly where Mei’s mind was at. The number one priority was her mother, after that, it was food, food, food, and then other people.
Mei continued to pull on Etora’s arm.
“Ok little bird I get it. How about this, let’s have a race. Whoever gets back first gets the other person’s portion and the other person is cat poop. Ready set go!”
Etora vanished into thin air and several afterimages were left behind.
Mei’s mouth was left agape and she stomped her feet.
“No fair no fair no fair!”
She then jumped into the air and transformed into her Mangshi form and flew into the distance, disappearing in no time.
Glacious began thinking about a meal after food had been mentioned.
“Ok, one more time in the cauldron and the days training will be concluded and we’ll go eat”
As soon as everyone heard that, their blood ran cold and their expressions numb.
They all slowly turned and headed toward the river but Glacious didn’t like this speed.
“If you all keep going at this pace it will be time for dinner. SHall I deliver you all to the river myself?”
Feet moved desperately and everyone was out of sight in less than a second.
With seemingly no one else around, Glacious called out.
“Are you just going to hide all the time or do you want to have some fish with us?”
Silence…
“Fine old bat, suit yourself.”
Glacious sighed before disappearing from his spot. A moment later on a tree several thousands of feet away, Tilly sighed. On her head, she wore thick binoculars that had several inscriptions glowing on the side of them.
“Observing the golems like this is so frustrating. However, this is the only way I can see the cores deep within them. Only when they are deep in combat and their bodies are opened up can I have such a good look. Dammit all! I will figure out the golem’s cores if it’s the last thing I do.”
