Kazuki leaped high up into the air and dragged Groud up with him. In less than a second, the two had ascended more than 2000 feet into the sky.
(“You fool what was the point of dragging me up here with you? Have you already forgotten that it is I that can fly and not you!”)
Groud gathered the wind beneath himself and floated in the air. At the same time, he created a thin barrier of wind between him and Kazuki and tried to expand it rapidly to throw Kazuki off of his back but Kazuki gripped the whip with everything he had. In doing so, Groud’s expanding barrier only increased the tightness from the whip around his neck.
Feeling his air supply dwindling, Groud quickly shrunk his barrier back down and changed his tactics. The wind beneath him flipped him around so his back and Kazuki were now facing the ground.
(“Hold on as much as you want! I’ll crush you like a fucking Clacker! After that, I’ll sink you back in the ground just like before.”)
A torrent of wind came down from above and pushed both Groud and Kazuki toward the ground at a rapid rate. Groud also increased the gravity upon himself and Kazuki by a few hundred times and they accelerated downward even faster.
Kazuki didn’t fear this and instead welcomed the fall. At the same time, his aura gathered and started to concentrate and focus on one spot. Inside his mind, Kazuki called out within.
(Focus.)
The ground drew near incredibly fast.
(Rotate.)
Groud could feel Kazuki gathering his aura but the two were about to hit the ground so Groud felt no concern as Kazuki would soon be dead or so he thought.
Just as the two were about to strike the ground, Kazuki finished gathering all of his aura and as he aimed at the ground at a certain angle he unleashed.
(Like a spinning bullet, focused on a single point, FIRE!)
A rush of wind aura shot out from Kazuki’s body and hit the ground. His power hit the ground in such a way that the two flipped over in that instant like a coin. It was now Groud who was facing the full brunt of the ground instead of Kazuki.
*BANG!*
Even with Groud taking most of the force, The shockwave still spread through Groud and into Kazuki. All at once dozens of Kazuki’s bones exploded through his body, proliferating in an instant and piercing his organs and muscles before exploding out of his back. A spray of blood from both Kazuki and Groud flew nearly 50 feet up like a fountain before splattering on the ground below.
All of the air in his lung was ripped away at this moment and he felt his veins all over his body burst apart and many of his organs were dislodged and battered. Kazuki’s body quickly went to work repairing itself but it wasn’t enough. Kazuki could feel the degradation of everything inside and blood was both spilling within internally and externally far too quickly. Circulating his ki as fast as possible, he went to work.
He ignored the bones for now and worked on stopping the blood loss while simultaneously gripping his heart with ki and manually pumping it to keep it going. His lungs were punctured, shredded, and all-around fucked at the moment so he was forced to drag in air with his aura. Once he brought the air inside himself, he used his ki to keep it flowing at a steady rate. Fixing his organs was his number one priority.
Beneath him, Groud was barely breathing but he was still breathing. A fall from a few thousand feet normally wouldn’t harm Kazuki nor Groud but Groud had used both the wind and gravity to aid him. Their combined weight was something equal to 2500 pounds. Add on the gravity and it was increased to over 500,000 pounds. This amount of weight was astronomical. Over 200 times their combined total and they had just crashed into the ground with all of that.
Kazuki was actually surprised to see that Groud was actually not as broken as he. He didn’t know if it was due to Groud’s species or his large tough frame but one thing was for sure. Groud had survived.
(Had he been better prepared he might have tried cushioning his impact with the wind but I flipped our positions at the last minute. He never saw it coming.)
Kazuki could tell that Groud was riddled with wounds. Mainly it was broken bones. Kazuki could see several of them poking out awkwardly from his skin. From his left arm, there were two bones stabbing through the surface and one from his other arm. Both of his legs were twisted in the wrong direction as well.
(With my healing ability, I will recover in less than a minute, meanwhile, he’s fucked. This fight is my w…)
Kazuki’s thoughts had stopped right there as Groud’s crown flashed with light and a small bottle appeared above his mouth.
Inside there was a green liquid and Kazuki could tell right away it was a potion. In this situation, Kazuki could only conclude it was a healing potion.
(If he takes that and heals before me I’m screwed!)
Kazuki’s ki stretched outward and grabbed the bottle and began to pull it away. Groud’s eyes grew round and he used his magic to pull it back wi8th wind magic. Both at this moment were incredibly weak and Groud had used much of his power. His pull on the bottle was nowhere where it would be if he were at 100%. A new tug of war unfolded between the two.
At the same time in the stands, the apes watched this scene play out with mixed feelings. Moments ago they were cheering for their king but now when it looked like the fight would be a draw, their king was trying to cheat and use a potion. Their honor was something that shouldn’t be stepped on but here their king was doing something so unsightly. They didn’t know what to do and watched in confusion.
At this time Groud’s eyes glowed and his crown lit up once more. A soldier in the stands watching suddenly jumped into the arena. No one knew what he was doing, not even the ape himself but Kazuki understood right away.
(He’s controlling another ape again to interfere. Oren was right, Groud truly gives no shits about honor.)
The ape ran forward and kicked Kazuki. At the same time, Kazuki changed the target of his ki and tore Groud’s crown off of his head.
*Clank clank*
The crown hit the ground and Kazuki went rolling across the ground. Were this ape stronger, it might have done some real damage just then but even in this weakened state with bones broken and flesh torn, this apes kick could only send Kazuki rolling away.
With Kazuki no longer trying to prevent Groud from drinking the green potion, it quickly fell into his open mouth and he swallowed it up in a single gulp. As soon as it entered him, all at once, several loud crunches and popping noises rang out as the potion went to work and put his body back together in seconds.
At the same, a gentle wind began to blow across the arena.
The ape who was under control snapped out of it and knew that something was off but couldn’t explain it at all. Groud slowly got up and stood in front of the ape.
The ape standing before his king was dwarfed by him. Groud looked down at him with an enraged look and was about to put on another act and beat the soldier before him.
Kazuki’s lungs had just healed though and he spoke up.
“Groud, are you really going to kill that ape!?”
Groud turned and looked at Kazuki’s broken body.
(“You have something you want to say?”)
Kazuki nodded.
“I do. I was just wondering if you were really going to place the blame on that ape after you were the one who controlled him?”
The ape soldier stared at Groud in confusion. Groud smiled devilishly, after showing the apes around him the pitiful sight during this fight and even how he just used a potion, the acting became tiresome.
(“And if I was!? Do you have something to say to that? Just lay there quietly. Even without my crown I can still crush you beneath my foot.”)
Groud didn’t even try to hide his thoughts and everyone looked at him in both confusion and anger as they started to understand the situation.
Kazuki shook his head.
“Me, I don’t really care but it’s clear they do, and more importantly, I think he has something he wants to say.”
Kazuki now had enough strength to point behind Groud and Groud looked behind him.
Oren was still encased in Orichalcum and pinned to the wall but atop his head now sat the crown. Oren’s eyes began to glow and with it, the crown glowed as well. The orichalcum encasing his body peeled away and he spoke with dominance.
(“Oh son, the disappointment and disgust I feel, ya just can’t even begin to understand it can ya?”)
