Return of the Fallen Volume 7 Chapter 42

Kazuki’s teeth tore through the Motozu meat with relative ease. Though it was incredibly tough, to Kazuki’s teeth and jaw power, it was like chewing through stale bread at its worst and cold butter at its easiest.

The taste of flesh upon his tongue was undesirable and came with a bitter, sour type of flavor but Kazuki had no care about the taste. The very second his mouth was full and he chewed a few times, all of the ancient beast flesh vanished and reappeared in his soul world. The spinning black hole at the base of his soul tree sucked it in like a miniature black hole.

The moment this meat entered the spiraling void, the hole expanded ever so slightly and energy was, in turn, returned to Kazuki’s body. Bones broke and regenerated becoming denser. Muscles and tissue tore before reforming and expanding, gaining strength and power.

The voice in his head no longer whispered as it called out to him and instead it became a roar within his consciousness.

(DEVOUR IT ALL!)

The moment this technique activated inside Kazuki’s soul world, his body moved without his control. He fell forward on all fours like a wild animal and buried his face into the pile of meat and began to consume it like an untamed beast. The feeding had started.

Literal tons of Ancient beast’s flesh and blood were forcefully shoved into Kazuki’s mouth by his own two hands. The moment it entered his mouth it began to vanish and was before the spiraling void.

The miniature black hole expanded more and more and with it the suction force, the pull of it all grew at an even greater rate.

Kazuki’s organs shed bad cells and were replaced with new ones. His vitality increased and his blood moved through his body with purpose as his heartbeat resounded outward like a war drum. His hair grew more and his height increased again. His body was once again going through an evolution.

In a few seconds, all of the Motozu flesh in front of him was gone. His ring glowed and several more tons of meat piled up in front of him like a small hill. Kazuki once more began to feed.

“Are you ssssure you’re not missstaken?”

A large snake several miles long glided through the air. The wind flowed rapidly around its large scaley body and pushed it up and forward at a fast speed.

Next to this large snake, an even larger creature with a gorilla-like body and the head of a rhino rode a ring of fire and flew just as fast as the great snake.

“Of course I’m sure. I could feel it. Motozu’s power has greatly weakened. This is the perfect chance for us. Alone we can do nothing against its powerful defense. The last time we fought it together we may have lost but the advantage was only slightly in Motozu’s favor. There was a battle near here a few days ago and I felt the powers grow weak. When will we have another opportunity like this?”

“SSssstill, are you ssssure we can do thissss?”

The large rhino ape snorted.

*Hmph*

“Us together, who else in the northern ocean territory can take us when we join forces. You just need to entangle Motozu. Wrap around its feet and steal its movement. After that, you can open your great eye and unleash your poison. Once poisoned, I’ll rip its 8 horns off in a single move. Without its magic, it just has speed and strength. I can deal with its strength and you will deal with its movement. Our combination, it’s unbeatable in the frozen north.”

The great snake was still unsure.

“What about the one who fought the Motozu. For that monster to have weakened Motozu, what if that creature is sssstill nearby?”

“Is that what you’re worried about? Do you think anything but a titan or a great dragon is capable of defeating Motozu. You know how titans are, they stick to their own territory and don’t ever start shit. You think Motozu started something with a titan, highly unlikely. When it comes to dragons, There are only a few left in this world. That upstart Glacious either chased them off of this continent or slaughtered them. The only dragon near the Feya continent is Glacious and I heard a strange rumor he’s fighting some human war for some reason. Besides that though what could contend with Motozu.”

The snake grew excited.

“Usssss!”

“Exactly.”

“Then that means whoever fought Motosssssu must have already died then. Just what idiot dared faced the strongest Ancient beast in the northern ocean?”

The great rhino ape shrugged.

“Must have been a young creature that just reached a higher stage. A newly Ancient beast. You know how young ones are. They don’t know the world and think they are at the top of the food chain. The fool probably entered the northern ocean looking to etch out its own territory and picked the wrong opponent. Thinking itself superior it challenged Motozu and was destroyed. Still, for it to have weakened Motozu to this extent, it must have had a few tricks.”

As the great rhino ape was talking nonstop, the eyes of the snake suddenly went wide with surprise. It flicked its large forked tongue in the air and became even more excited.

“Big brother, I can sense it now. I can sense Motozu’s energy, you’re right, it really has weakened greatly.”

The rhino ape smiled confidently.

“Of course I was right. At the same time…

The rhino ape stopped talking and his eyes scanned in every direction for a few hundred miles.

“We have guests!”

The snake spotted several beast in their surroundings.

“Brother, they want to steal Motosssssu’s treasuressss and take hissss territory for themselvesssss. We mussst hurry!”

“Right, they aren’t as strong as us but if they combine forces we’ll be shit out of luck. Not only that a few of them are much faster than us. If they swoop in and steal the treasures, we’ll never be able to catch them. Let’s move our asses little brother!”

The two exchanged a look before the fire under the rhino ape grew brighter and hotter. The wind changed and a tornado wrapped around the snake’s entire body. The two became blurs as they sped up and raced off into the distance.

As soon as they did this, it was like something had been put into the air, a signal to all who hold sway in the frozen north waters. Like a chain reaction, fires burned and lightning crackled. Ice burst forth and wind raged. All at once, several dozen mighty creatures increased their speed to the limit and gave chase or rather joined the race toward Motozu’s territory.

As they raced forward, they came within a few hundred miles of Motozu’s territory. Though the ancient beast’s territory consisted of nothing but the ocean, these powerful creatures could all feel the disturbed energy all around. Sensing the weakened presence of Motozu even more clearly, they didn’t falter there and hurried even faster to where they felt Motozu’s presence.

*Bang, Boom, Boom, Boom, Bam, Bang,*

The ice cracked several times as dozens of powerful creatures landed atop the sturdy surface of the ice. All of them had landed and surrounded a weird-looking metal dome. They all felt the weakened presence inside and naturally, they all gave each other suspicious and curious stares.

A scorpion the size of a hill shouted out.

“I was here first! I stake claim to all of Motozu’s land and everything in it! The rest of you are all too late!”

The moment this scorpion said this, all eyes turned on it. It quickly shut its trap and shrunk down slightly. After that several creatures erupted and a shouting match began. It was at this time that the rhino ape stepped forward and roared.

“SILENCE!!!!”

His voice tore into the sky and caused the ice beneath everyone’s feet to crack. His voice was so strong, so powerful, that it even pushed a few of these Ancient beast backward several feet before it finally died down.

The other creatures went quiet right then and there.

The rhino ape wore a cocky expression as he spoke.

“Everyone here knows me and knows what I’m capable of. If I faced all of you alone, maybe you could all take me but at least half of you are guaranteed to die in the process. However, with my little brother here.”

The grat rhino ape pointed at the large snake beside him.

“None of you stand a chance against the two of us.”

As soon as he said that. Three large ancient beasts stepped forward as if to challenge him.

The great snake hissed out and a third eye opened upon its large hill-sized head.

“You three dare!”

A black poison started to flow but the rhino ape stepped forward.

“Not yet little brother, let me handle them.”

The large snake hesitated for a moment before backing up.

Turning to look at the three ancient beasts a bit of the rhino apes aura spread outward atop the three in front of it. The moment its aura touched their bodies, the three collapsed to their knees. All three began to tremble as the crushing force was simply too much. One of them spoke with great difficulty.

“How is this possible. Your aura has grown even stronger in this short amount of time.”

“It’s possible because it’s me who did it. Just because it’s impossible for you, hmph, to think you even put your name near mine.”

After a moment, it was obvious the three were not overcoming the great rhino ape. Finally, he released them all and they gasped for fresh air.

“Now that should remind everyone here who the strongest is but I am not unfair. I and my little brother will take 70% of the territory as well as 70 % of any treasures and 100% of all resources. The rest, you all may divide it between yourselves. Any objections?”

The scorpion spoke up once more.

“Shouldn’t we kill Motozu first before we start dividing its things?”

All stares came back to the scorpion and it shrunk some more. No one could tell if the scorpion was a fool or just that confident. Seeing it shrink from fear though, most just assumed the first.

The great rhino ape nodded along.

“Your right. Let’s first kill Motozu. Everyone that helps is guaranteed more in the profits. First, let’s remove this shell Motozu is hiding in.”

The great rhino ape stepped forward and raised a fist.
