Return of the Fallen Volume 7 Chapter 68
People were already quite weary seeing Kazuki’s large frame making his way through the streets. This though was nothing compared to Danny walking. His large body was made of god metal and weighed several tons. Each step made the ground tremble just a bit. A big body of dull white metal leaving large tracks in the ground while pathing forward was terrifying. Add on his large glowing silverish eyes as if souls were visibly leaving his head, let’s just say there was no one who dared stand in Danny’s way.
The guards saw this and reports were flying back and forth to the city lord but he told everyone to just watch and get out of Kazuki and his strange friends’ way.
The guards did just that. They didn’t dare make a move. They already were aware of Kazuki’s strength. Seeing a strange metal Golem walking next to him, they would not even attempt to get in this thing’s way.
Whisperers and low murmurs spread through the city and many came crowding around from all over in curiosity. As soon as they saw Danny though and felt the ground beneath them move, they promptly got their fill of the curious sight and backed away.
Several children screamed seeing this and a few people fainted but Danny could care less. His aura spread around him, he sensed his surroundings and felt the world around him. He was on top of the world right now.
Finally, they left the city, a huge sigh of relief from the city guards no doubt. As soon as they left, Danny could hardly contain his excitement and he started to speed up.
One foot in front of the other.
*Bang Bang Bang!*
Each step sounded as if someone was striking an anvil with a hammer. The ground periodically collapsed beneath Danny’s feet but this only made him more excited.
“Danny, try and control your weight with your aura. Let it reduce some of your weight while you move. That way you will be more agile.”
Danny’s aura spread outward slightly. Using wind aura, he lightened his steps. This helped him control his balance better and the wind aura made him faster.
Inscriptions lit up along his bulking metallic legs as the Magic core in his chest pushed power to his lower extremities and with a hard push, he jumped into the air.
*BOOOOOM!*
The ground cratered and sunk inward. Even while reducing his weight with aura, he still broke the land around him. What was amazing though, is the power of the magic core and the Golem body. This single leap took him several hundred feet high.
Using the wind aura just as Kazuki had done without magic, Danny began to fly in the air. After Kazuki shared his aura, the memories, and experiences with Danny, Danny could now do everything Kazuki could do with aura. As a matter of fact, after Kazuki shared, it was like Danny had done it before. Lifting such a heavy body with aura was child’s play.
Kazuki grabbed Sid around the waist.
“Wait Kazuki what are you doing?”
“You said you wanted to see what he was capable of right? We’ve got to follow him if you want to see and last I checked you’re not very good at flying are you?”
Sid grew nervous.
“Can’t you just run along the ground and carry me. There’s no need to take flihhhhhh!
Before Sid could finish what he was saying, Kazuki took to the air at an incredible speed. Sid could feel the wind slapping his cheeks and he found it difficult to talk. Kazuki fixed that though by placing a barrier around Sid with aura. The racing wind screaming in his ears was suddenly silenced and the stinging wind on his face became a gentle breeze.
Sid slowly opened his eyes and found himself more than 300 feet in the air.
His throat closed up and he gripped Kazuki’s shirt as tightly as his small hands could.
Kazuki didn’t expect the old man to be so afraid of heights but he couldn’t let such an opportunity like this go. He spoke teasingly.
“Old man, how can you be a dragon slayer, and yet youre terrified of being in the sky? Tell me do all the dragons come down to the ground to fight you, hehehe.”
“Damn you Kazuki! Put me down on the ground before I catch my death up here!”
Sid had said this with an absolute serious tone but the fearful look on his face was counter to that.
Kazuki ignored his complaints and upped the speed just a little faster.
“KAZUKI YOU DAMN BASTARD!”
Kazuki followed Danny until they found themselves in a deserted area near a barren valley.
Landing on the ground, Sid was shaking like a cat caught in a drizzle.
“Old man, we’ve already landed.”
Sid only now realized he was on the ground. As soon as this fact registered in his mind, he fell to his hands and knees and began kissing the dirt.
“Lord in the heavens thank you thank you. I know I’m an old bastard but this bastard ain’t ready to die, at least not in that way. If you have to strike anyone down for flying when ain’t none of us a bird, please let it be Kazuki. This boy doesn’t respect that the sky is for the beasts.”
Kazuki raised a brow.
“Old man Sid are you cursing me right now?”
Sid glared at Kazuki before turning away and mumbling a prayer/curse.
Kazuki just shook his head.
(Maybe I went too far.)
Sid began kissing the ground again and rubbing dirt on his hands before clapping three times and praying.
(Nah, maybe I didn’t go far enough, hehe.)
While Kazuki and Sid were doing dumb shit, Danny stood silently with his eyes closed. He felt his surroundings in totality. The wind in the air, the branches on the trees swaying to and fro, and the insects beneath the barren soil squirming. He also was feeling his own magic within his core.
“Kazuki, this magic, it’s really mine?”
“The Motozu used the element of water along with lightning. Lightning is the next stage of wind, so you should not only be able to use water, ice, but also wind and lightning. These elements remained perfectly intact within the Motozy’s core and now it’s all yours to command. You just have to reach within and will them forth.”
Danny closed his eyes once more. His mind focused like the point of a needle as he called upon the power in his core and pulled it outward. Several inscriptions beneath the surface of his metal skin began to shine through. Slowly he lifted his hand and opened his palm.
“Water.”
*PSHHHHHHHHHHH!*
A force of water materialized and shot forth like an ancient geyser. The circumference was as round as a hill and stretched outward for nearly a mile. It hit the bottom of the valley like an explosion.
*BOOOOM!*
The water came out like a cannon and it drilled into the ground like a knife through butter.
“Danny, focus your power. Remember this isn’t the same as when you were a human. At that time you were still only around the 3rd stage. Right now your using power equal to the 6th stage, a simple thought of water will not bring a small amount. Concentrate!”
Danny was taken aback by the amount of power flowing from him. He only met to bring a bucket’s worth of water but he was not used to all the power his body contained and he created something much much greater. Not only did he have the Motozu core as a Magic core, which met he could utilize power around the 6th stage but also his body was made of orichalcum making his power more efficient as well as amplified.
Danny quickly stopped his power from flowing and the water stopped coming. This didn’t mean the water was finished though. After he accidentally drilled a hole into the bottom of the valley, a whirlpool formed as the water began to drain underground. This caused several sinkholes to form and the valley began to collapse in on itself.
Kazuki’s ring glowed slightly and he stomped on the ground.
*Bang!*
The collapsing ground stopped sinking and the valley rose up by nearly a dozen feet before all of the ground solidified and became tougher by severalfold. A small earthquake would have trouble tearing apart the land Kazuki just repaired.
The whirlpool stopped and the water settled and became a small lake.
Sid saw this and was speechless. He looked at Kazuki differently. He knew Kazuki was powerful but witnessing him change the landscape with a simple stomp, what words could he say in the face of that.
At the same time, Danny was focusing his mind. He had to think differently. His concept of power was off.
(I met to bring about a bucket or so of water yet I made so much. I have to reduce it. If I plan to make half a bucket then it should be half of what I just created. Further reducing half to another half and so on and so on until I’m at a small fraction. I just need to imagine a small fraction. Not only that, The force that followed was too great. If I imagine a nozzle, then it will come out with bone-shattering power. So let’s change the figurative shape to something much wider. The shape of the nozzle can be hundreds of times bigger. Yes, that should do it.)
Danny opened his eyes once more.
“Water.”
A large sphere of water about the size of a horse-drawn cart appeared in front of him. It moved like a slow blob as he manipulated it.
“It’s still this big.”
Danny mind worked faster and faster and his magic responded in kind.
“Smaller, smaller.”
The blob of water shrunk and was reduced by half and then became half of that. His will changed the water again and again until, after a few seconds, the large blob of water was around the size of a person’s head.
Kazuki gave a slow clap in the background.
“Good, but that was too easy. After all, you could already use water when you were living. Let’s try something you have no experience with.”
Kazuki leaped forward and appeared a hundred feet away. Pointing at the center of his chest he called out.
“Now, hit me with some lightning!”
