Return of the Fallen Volume 7 Chapter 78
As Dreunz pumped the Gosechu box full of his power, it continually bent rays of light and radiated space and time energy. This in turn showed several scenes flowing in reverse.
Dreunz and the other three Ancient beasts watched as Kazuki along with two Ancient beasts they didn’t recognize engaged in some type of conversation. Because the Gosechu box only showed a holographic video, there was no audio so Dreunz and the others couldn’t hear what Kazuki was discussing.
For these Ancient beasts though it was simple enough to read Kazuki and the other’s lips.
They quickly learned that Kazuki formed an alliance of some sort with Sasai and Tozu. It was a little difficult to piece conversations together as they started from the end and worked backward to the beginning but after a bit, Dreunz and the others started putting everything together.
They watched the video and the more they watched the more they couldn’t believe it.
They witnessed Tozu and Sasai absorb many beast cores and grow stronger and they also saw the strange appearance Kazuki had as he devoured the corpses of a few Ancient beasts.
Time flowed on and soon Kazuki, Tozu, and Sasai were surrounded by dark energy but Dreunz and the others couldn’t understand what this energy was. Following that, Kazuki, Tozu, and Sasai were in combat with one another.
Dreunz and the other Ancient beasts saw exactly how formidable Kazuki actually was. They watched him slay a few Ancient beasts in efficient yet cruel manners. The battles continued on and they saw how it was Kazuki who had defeated the Motozu using metal rods inserted in the beast’s flesh.
After that more than a week flowed in reverse and all was peaceful in the northern ocean. Motozu was residing in a slumber in his lair and there was no damage nor any signs of battle. Up to this point, Dreunz could feel his power weakening and the video ceased. The Gosechu box lit up no more and it began to rotate the Rubiks cube-like pieces along its body and back into place.
A bit of cold sweat poured from Dreunz forehead. Whether it was because he had used too much power or he was stunned by what he saw, even he wasn’t sure himself.
The other Ancient beasts were worried though. They had completely underestimated Kazuki and took him for a weak human. Stronger than other humans yes but nowhere near their strength. They had all confirmed that he was only at the 5th stage, the core stage but the strength he displayed playing backward from the Gosechu box was way beyond the 5th stage. They saw how he moved like a flash of lightning, how he clashed fist with fist against Ancient beasts. Kazuki was in no way weaker than them.
“Master Dreunz, that human isn’t weak at all, he deceived us! It was he who killed Motozu and he’s also aligned with other Ancient beasts. Master, I know just how strong young master Alodeus is but if this Kazuki character seems stronger. At this rate, Alodeus really will be in danger. Kazuki is a step ahead of us and Alodeus is in his reach. Master, we must return to young masters’ side at once and rescue him before danger befalls him!”
“GRANDPA!!!!!”
Before Dreunz or the other Ancient beast made a move, Alodeus shrill scream echoed out over the world.
Dreunz felt a chill down his spine. Nothing had to be said as he and the other three Ancient beasts flew out of the top of the underwater volcano and returned to the surface in a split second.
Dreunz vision scanned outward for dozens of miles where he spotted his grandson with a miserable appearance.
His grandson was covered from head to toe in blood and he still for some strange reason was carrying the training dummy from before. Dreunz thought it was odd but more than anything he was worried for Alodeus.
“GRANDPA! HELP ME!!!”
A little bit further away from Alodeus, Tozu and Shaila gave chase. They were only a few hundred feet away from Alodeus and the dummy and they were gaining on him.
Hearing his grandson’s terrified scream and recognizing Tozu from his treasured Gosechu box. Dreunz’s blood boiled like a blazing inferno.
“ALODEUS!!”
Dreunz roared and golden-white light gathered around his body before he took a step forward and disappeared for an instant
*FLASH*
A beam of light carried him forward as he moved faster than lightning.
Behind him, the other beasts moved as well.
Dreunz speed was unexpected. With this single step forward, the old man stepped through the sky and stood next to Alodeus and the metal dummy as if he were always there. Alodeus’s eyes widened and almost wavered but very quickly he went behind Dreunz with a terrified look upon his face.
“Grandpa, they…they tried to kill me!”
Dreunz grabbed Alodeus and tossed him to the other Ancient beasts.
“Protect my grandson, I’ll deal with these two!”
Two of the Ancient beasts stood in the air and guarded Alodeus while Dreunz and the other Ancient beasts raced forward. Dreunz went for Tozu while the other went for Shaila.
It was at this time that Alodeus’s expression changed. With the two Ancient beasts in front of him, their backs were wide open. Two gauntlets made of god metal formed on Kazuki’s fists in an instant. Sharp claws at the end of his fingers, he drilled his hands into their backs and gripped one’s heart and the other’s spine.
With a slight squeeze, a heart turned to mush and with a pull, Kazuki ripped the spine out of the other one.
The dummy aka Danny quickly flashed several ancient hand signs and sealed the beast cores in an instant. The two Ancient beasts were dead before they could even utter a single cry.
If they had been on their guard at all from Alodeus, Kazuki would not have been able to take them on so easily. Add to the fact that Kazuki had used god metal to cover his hands, gave him a powerful weapon, and going all out from the start basically, these Ancient beasts had no chance.
The Ancient beasts aiming for Shaila opened his mouth and roared.
*ROARRRRRRRRR!*
A large frozen pillar of ice shot forward and brought a deadly chill. Shaila though smiled. She ran atop the pillar, blazing fire beneath her feet melted this ice and carried her forward, Dark energy gathered around her left palm.
The Ancient beast broke the pillar off and fired a cannon of water. This water was condensed down and pressurized and came shooting out like a sharp blade.
Shaila bent her body backward like a flexible cat and ducked beneath the blade of water. At the same time, she changed the dark energy in her hand into a dark sphere and threw it high into the air.
The Ancient beast was taking no chances and aimed at the sphere in the sky to try and destroy it.
His blade of water shot the sphere and the sphere exploded. Yet instead of it dissipating, like a dark fog, it spread out in every direction covering the surrounding area. Besides that though, the fog was not dangerous.
The ancient beast’s tried to blow the fog away but it clung to the very air itself.
The Ancient beasts knew it was bad to be in the darkness and decided to fly out but it was already too late. He felt a sharp pain around his neck and heard cruel laughter right after.
“Heheha, far too slow.”
This Ancient beast felt its vision fade and it could feel no more. Shaila pulled her hand backward and held a beast core in her hand. She sealed it and tucked it away.
*FLASHHHH*
*Gehk*
Shaila saw a pillar of light tear through her dark fog as if it were paper. At the end of that pillar, she saw a horrible sight.
“NOOOOO!”
Tozu had a large hole in his chest, a beam of light extending out from his back, and blood p[ouring from both the wound and running down his lips.
Shaila raced forward, dark energy covering her whole body like a suit.
“GET AWAY FROM HIM!”
Dreunz snorted.
“Hmph, it is you who should get away from me you damn she bitch!”
Before Shaila could get to the old man, the old man opened his palm and golden-white light spread out in every direction.
*SHINE*
In an instant, all of Shaila’s dark energy was torn through and vanished. In its place, a golden white light took over and expanded beyond. The entire sky grew so bright that it was as if the sun itself had descended upon all of Gordonia and crashed from the very heavens.
After a few seconds of this, the light faded and the world returned to normal.
Tozu fell into the water unconscious and sank beneath the surface while Shaila had crashed onto a glacier. She was badly burned and a deep crater of broken ice had formed beneath her. The heat from Dreunz’s light had been so fierce that it had injured Shaila and melted the ice around her. She too began to sink in the ever-melting ice. Her consciousness, was now a void of darkness.
