Return of the Fallen Volume 7 Chapter 79

Tozu sank into the depths of the frozen ocean and Shaila crashed down into a solid glacier, she was out cold.

Dreunz slowly turned to Alodeus. Floating quietly above his finger a tiny orb of light. Kazuki knew this light was beyond ordinary though. It had drilled a hole into Tozu’s chest and blasted Shaila out of the sky. The energy gathered at Dreunz’s fingertip was beyond dangerous.

The dark energy in his compass started to swirl and pulse in excitement. This is what Zetrazz was waiting for.

Dreunz slowly pointed at Kazuki, his voice colder than the Asadiah ocean below.

“I’ll give you but one chance creature. What have you done with my grandson?”

Alodeus trembled.

“Grandpa, wha…what are you talking about, it’s me your grandson. I

*FOOOSH!*

A beam of light shot out as fast as lightning, no even faster and it sashed at Alodeus’s face. A small line of blood ran down from his cheek.

“You dare make a fool of me. You think I don’t even know my own grandson. You’ve yet to answer my question. This means you don’t intend to talk but that is not an option. I will tear your legs off first and then your legs. Slowly but surely you will be driven to the edge of madness. No matter how much it takes I will make you talk.”

Alodeus dropped Danny into the ocean and slowly wiped the line of blood from his cheek. With the blood wiped away, the small cut that should still be there had already healed. This cemented it further to Dreunz that this wasn’t his grandson.

*Hehe*

Kazuki’s face slowly started to reshape to his original and his body grew taller back to his correct height. Muscles expanded and bones broke and healed back together.

Kazuki’s voice went from Alodeus to his own halfway through his next sentence.

“Grandpa, why would you try and hurt me? DOn’t you love me anymore, heheha.”

Dreunz watched Kazuki change before his eyes and was absolutely stupified as well as angry. It was actually the human he and his men continued to call weak. Only moments ago did they realize they were wrong as they watched the scenes of Kazuki killing Ancient beasts through the Gosechu box. Only now though did Dreunz come to understand just how badly he and the others underestimated Kazuki.

In a single move, Kazuki had slain two Ancient beasts that were similar in strength to Motozu. This gave Dreunz a terrible feeling.

(Where is my grandson!?)

“Kazuki, the human. You were behind Motozu’s death and you’ve aligned yourself with other Ancient beasts. You tricked me and you’ve killed my warriors. Are you actually a human or a monster. To change your face and body in such a way. To have been fooled in such a way…Have I really become so old.”

Kazuki shrugged.

“A monster, me, that’s strange to hear from actual monsters. You all can literally shrink down to the size of a person and take human form, yet I’m the one considered a monster…In what world? If anyth

*SCHINK!*

Before Kazuki could finish his sentence, dozens of light beams slashed at him again and again. It was…too fast.

One second he was talking, the very next he had deep wounds. Both shoulders were cut into and his collarbone was broken. His wrist had been cut apart and so too was the back of his knees and ankles. Blood gushed from these wounds and Kazuki almost fell out of the sky.

The very next instant Dreunz flashed forward and grabbed Kazuki by his collar.

“Speak. What have you done with my grandson, where are you keeping him?”

Kazuki was startled. The speed of Dreunz movement and attacks were something his body could not keep up with. Even with his eyes, he could barely follow Dreunz,

(I can’t compete with his speed!)

“Not going to talk yet. It seems I’ll have to remove a limb or two first before that mouth of yours loosens. So be it.”

The moment his words finished, god metal formed around Kazuki’s entire body. It was seemingly instantaneous, yet just before the gaps in the armor were fully closed, Dreunz fired a single beam into Kazuki’s suit.

*TSHHHH!*

Flesh was scorched and his left arm became ash inside his suit. The heat cauterized the wound but the pain was extreme.

*Guh*

A blade of god metal appeared in Kazuki’s hand. His ki circulating as fast as possible, Kazuki swung at Dreunz who was literally inches in front of him. These few inches though seemed to be as far away as the ground was to the sky. The moment he swung his blade, Kazuki only managed to cut after images.

Dreunz was already behind him. Kazuki kicked behind him but Dreunz was gone again. The man seemed to be moving as fast as light.

Dreunz pointed at Kazuki’s back and fired another beam of light.

*BAM!*

Even though it was made of light, the beam carried physicality and struck Kazuki like someone had thrown a mountain at him.

Kazuki was thrown backward for miles in the air. Only when the beam faded did, Kazuki stop tumbling like a rag doll and he managed to regain his balance in the sky.

Kazuki’s insides faired much better than when he faced the Motozu. Nothing was out of place inside but the outside was different. Kazuki’s skin had melted and had cooked inside the armor. Orichalcum was supposed to be capable of absorbing any type of magic to a high extent and it had done just that but even still, a terrifying heat had penetrated the armor and fried his skin. It was so bad that his melted skin started to fuse with the inside of the armor.

The god metal covering his entire body was radiating with heat and unbelievably there was a slight scorch mark on the back of the armor where the beam had landed.

Kazuki was bewildered.

(This power! no wonder it penetrated through Tozu. His bones were nearly as strong as god metal yet Dreunz put a hole through him. This armor, can it last against such an attack!?)

“To think you managed to not die from that. What is that armor your wearing? To be capable of protecting you from my attack…No matter, I’ll come to know all of this once I break it open and peel you from its metal frame.”

Dreunz was already next to Kazuki, his finger was at point-blank range in front of Kazuki’s face.

Kazuki moved his ki as fast as possible and used strengthening aura. Blue fire erupted beneath his feet as he tried to dodge but it was already too late.

*BAM!*

The light beam hit him directly in his helmet and he was sent flying once more. The first thing he felt was a numbing sensation in his eyes before they boiled and popped in an instant. Next was the skin and muscle on his face melting away. Then was the blood. Just as it was starting to vaporize, Kazuki protected it with both aura and ki and focused healing there speeding it up.

As he was flying backward he managed to create the fire he needed beneath his feet to continue accelerating backward, faster and faster.

This was the fastest he had ever moved. His body was like a flash of lightning and in a fraction of a second he had traversed nearly 100 miles but unfortunately, this still was fast enough. Even moving like lightning, a cruel voice sounded out next to Kazuki’s ear.

“Trying to flee? There is no human or Ancient beast that has ever been able to keep up with my speed. Even Titans have tried and failed to catch me. Do you really think you can leave from my grasp?”

Once more Dreunz simply pointed a single finger at Kazuki.

“The longer you take to surrender the more vicious I will be. NOW OPEN!!”

*BAM!*

A wave of heat burned through Kazuki’s body. Charred bones, vaporized nerves, and tendons, scraps of muscle. It was as if the heat from Dreunz light was a grindstone as it continually ravaged Kazuki done to the bone. ANy other person would have been dead a hundred times over by now. Kazuki’s though, was either lucky or unlucky as his body healed and regenerated just as fast as it was being devastated.

This pain, it was immense, yes but Kazuki could endure it. He had endured worse, far worse, yet he still survived. This was the thought he held onto, clung to with everything he had as the gears in his mind began to turn.

(Danny and Sasai should have recovered Tozu and Shaila by now but even with their help, it won’t be enough and someone needs to protect Shaila and Tozu. I can’t bring the fight to them. I have to deal with this old bastard here but he’s too fucking fast. I have to pin him down, root him and make him still. His attacks are powerful and he’s fast too but that tells me nothing about his body. I’ll have to stop his movements, then I’ll attack him with everything!)

Dark energy spread out from Kazuki and a black fog filled the surrounding.

“You think this will work! I’ve destroyed that bitches fog before and I’ll destroy yours just the same!”
