Return of the Fallen Volume 8 Chapter 90
To Danny’s question, Kazuki took his thumbnail and dragged it across his finger. A small cut appeared on the tip of his finger but the very next moment the blood as if being absorbed by a sponge reversed course and disappeared into Kazuki’s flesh and the cut was repaired nearly instantly.
“As you know, my healing is…different from others. The number of times my body has been enhanced from magic cauldrons is too many to count. Add the fact that I use both the element of Gordonia as well as ki, my healing factor goes up several times over. Just from these three different things, I would say my regenerative capabilities are nearly unmatchable by other living creatures. This though still isn’t everything. After using the Vazul ability eventually, that dark being broke free within my soul world and tried to possess me. After it was forced back into the gate, my body went through another change.”
Kazuki raised his hand up in front of everyone and with his other, he chopped down at his wrist. With a powerful slash, Kazuki chopped off his own hand with his other hand.
As soon as this happened Asuna, Kimi released an audible gasp and Kimi unintentionally screamed in horror.
Asuna was panicked but she quickly tore a piece of cloth from her pants and tried to wrap Kazuki’s arm but Kazuki stopped her. He held his hand up high so everyone could see and to their absolute shock, tendrils of flesh, bone, and tissue shot out from his wound and a brand new hand started to form. One second passed and just before two seconds had gone by, a fully formed hand had replaced Kazuki’s previous one.
Asuna fell backward on her ass in shock and Kimi’s mouth fell open. Sam simply made a low grunt in acknowledgment but even without a change in facial expression, Kazuki could tell that even he was taken aback.
“My power to heal has surpassed what a human is capable of. When the Vazul was kicked from my body, it left behind this small gift. Without this ability, I believe I would not have survived against Dreunz. Why am I bringing all of this up?…I think I can use this ability on you all.”
Asuna snapped and she immediately punched Kazuki in the chest.
“You IDIOT! Next time tell someone what you are about to do…NO actually don’t ever do that again asshole. I felt like my heart fell through my stomach!”
Kimi finally started to settle down and her eyes couldn’t help but drift to the stump that was her right shoulder. Abura and ripped her arm off long ago and she felt a strange faint pain just thinking about it but hearing that Kazuki might be able to use a powerful healing ability like that, a small glimmer of hope appeared within her.
“Ka…Kazuki. If you can use that on me. Does that mean…my arm…is it possible?”
Sam also realized what this meant and his calm expression suddenly lit up.
“Kazuki, can you help Kimi!?”
Kazuki rubbed his chest faining pain as to get Asuna to stop hitting him. As to Kimi and Sam’s question, Kazuki could only shake his head.
“I’m not sure.”
Kimi reflexively shouted.
“BUT YOU JUST SAID!”
“I said I think. Nothing is guaranteed. This ability is something which I recently obtained and I don’t control it. It just heals me whether and I have no say.”
Kimi felt as if her hopes were drowned in an icy lake and were no more.
Danny though was rubbing his chin quietly in thought.
“So this is why you kept me behind. To solve such a problem, Kazuki this is a lot of pressure you know?”
“Danny are you telling me you can’t think of any
Danny held up a hand to stop Kazuki.
“I never said that. As we speak a few ideas do come to mind but they also come with problems of their own and hidden dangers.”
Kimi once again looked hopeful.
“Danny, forget about the 5th stage for a moment, can my arm be fixed?”
…
Danny was quiet for only a moment before nodding.
“It isn’t impossible but as I said, the dangers are something I can’t predict or foresee.”
Kimi began to tremble slightly. Danny’s words, even at the mention of danger were something unbelievable to her. Hearing that there was any kind of chance brought her emotions to the front. Sam held her hand, patting it gently, her trembling began to settle and she calmed down.
Kazuki on the other hand was a bit nervous. Kazuki knew there could be risks but Danny specifically mentioned dangers.
“Danny, what dangers?”
“I can’t say for sure but this increased regenerative ability. To make a brand new body part from scratch, this ability came from a Vazul that was in the process of taking over your body. There could be a possibility of the seal inside your soul world breaking. Messing around with unknown powers, whose to say won’t allow the Vazul to come right back in and start the possession process all over again. Zetrazz said he would not help with that anymore. If the Vazul breaks out from that gate, you would only be able to rely on yourself. As for other dangers, well I wouldn’t know until we come across them. Kazuki are you sure you want to do this?”
Kazuki thought about this for a moment. Scaling Asuna and the powers of the others up was it worth the risk for him.
(The gate has been resealed and there’s no dark energy leaking out. As long as I pay attention to the gate as well and reinforce the seal if anything happens, things should be fine. There is risk yes but as long as I pay attention it is very little. On the other side of things, Asuna and the others need more strength right now. To face the fused Azirian’s at their current strength is impossible. To fight opponents at such a level, even with Shaila and the others, I’ll still need more help. Our enemies are sending everything they’ve got, we can’t go in lacking. To give them a better chance at surviving all of this…it’s worth it!)
“Danny, we can’t afford not to. Glacious and Etora are tied up and we have no clue when things will be settled. We can’t expect any backup. Those fused Azirian’s though are not going to simply stop. We’ll need every advantage we can take if we are to finish them off once and for all and survive.”
Danny nodded.
“I agree. Okay, in order to do this, I’m assuming to get started you will be using your aura to pull in magical energy.”
Kazuki wasn’t surprised Danny figured out what he was going to do.
“Yes. In order to get the massive amount of energy required to get them to the Core stage, I’ll use my aura to gather it. I can stretch my aura outward for around 3000 miles in every direction. I can use it like a large net. Whether it’s left, right, high into the sky, or deep down below the dirt, I’ll drag all of the magical energy from all around to this place.”
Asuna and the others didn’t know much about aura. They knew that stronger beings had it and it was derived from the soul but outside of that, their knowledge of it was little. For if they knew and understood what aura truly was, they would once again be shocked that Kazuki could send his aura so far. Even among Ancient Beasts, Kazuki’s aura was shocking. Most could stretch it for a few hundred miles. Shaila and the others could cover around a thousand miles among themselves. Etora could cover half the continent if he wished and mighty beings like Glacious and the two beast kings could cover the entire continent itself if they so wished.
“So you’ll gather the magical energy from all around and as they absorb it, I assume you will use your ki to help heal any damage they sustain and use your fused energy to help prevent the pure energy from wrecking their body from the outside. Using it inside of them though would have a negative effect. As your fused energy destroys other energies, if you unleash it within their bodies it will not protect them but tear them apart instead.”
Kazuki nodded.
“You know my thoughts and abilities well. This is about up to how far I’ve thought. I still don’t know how to use this ability to heal the damage their bodies will sustain as their cores are expanding. That’s where you come in…hopefully.”
Danny rubbed his chin as always. The gears in his mind turning nonstop.
“It’s complicated but to put it simply, we will be using an old trick. It’s something you and I have already done before. Do you remember how you gained the ability to mimic the wind?”
As soon as Danny said this, it was as if Kazuki was struck by a bolt of lightning.
“Danny, that big juicy brain of yours never ceases to amaze me!”
Danny shrugged his shoulders and smirked.
“It’s a gift.”
