Return of the Fallen Volume 9 Chapter 110

“The Lower Realm isn’t a prison, instead, it’s a playground.”

These words contained many meanings. Confidence, arrogance, some truths. One thing for sure, these few words made one question the purpose of such a realm. Fera saw it as a prison, a place that had held her for nearly her whole life up to this point. An invisible container that’s kept her away from her father and kept her trapped in a small world in a small place. A place where she’s only felt alone.

Kazuki on the other hand saw it in a completely opposite way. After experiencing the unforgiving nature of not only the people of the world but also its many fucked up creatures and the world itself, gaining the power he has now, he could feel something inside of him. Being pushed down, beaten and bruised, battered and nearly killed far too many times to count. for the first time in his life, he felt he was the one in control. He was the one who could decide his own fate and where he goes from here.

There was just one small inconvenience still standing in his way of finally holding his own life in his hands, and it was staring right at him with her usual scowl.

Zephris smiled within Kazuki’s soul world.

(Heh, two seconds after absorbing my power and you already think yourself a god. That type of thinking is quite dangerous but I like it. With this amount of strength, we can do it, we can slay this demon woman. After her, you need to kill Torzz for me and then later when you become a Demigod yourself you can ascend to whichever Higher Realm Sephra is in and crush her.)

Zephris’s words struck a chord with Kazuki and he paused for a moment.

—————————————————————————-

A few hundred miles away, several crystal orbs hovered in the sky. Kazuki noticed them right away and thought of King Brian and Danny. He understood they wished to help and for some reason, Kazuki felt a little anger at the thought of them helping.

As soon as this thought crossed his mind, Zephri’s words came to mind as well and Kazuki realized how he sounded. He quickly began circulating his ki to his mind to calm this unfounded anger.

(What is wrong with me. As soon as I absorbed Zephris’s power, I felt irritable. This power flowing through me, I’ve just received it and I felt arrogance and anger toward my friends who only wish to help me. Just thinking of them helping, my first thought was why would I need such weak help…I need to calm down. Now is not the time to lose myself in such emotions.)

Kazuki felt his ki swiftly calming both his heart and mind and a tranquil feeling took hold of him. There were still thoughts of murder inside of him but now they were not controlling him.

Fera and Kazuki inexplicably stared at one another for a few short moments. It was odd, to say the least. After reaching this new level, at first, Fera found this prison to be so tiny and she wondered if she could break it with a single thought. However, that changed instantly when her magic did almost nothing to Kazuki.

This reality snapped her out of it. She was powerful but there was still someone here who could match her. There was still an obstacle, one that she must destroy at all cost.

(Moments ago, I could have killed him. He was frozen still directly in front of me. I could have squeezed slightly and crushed him with space but now, after eating Zephris, my power barely even holds him. Damn it all! Kazuki, you little shit, that cheat like power from those nasty Vazul’s. I don’t know how you made that power your own but I cannot let you continue growing. I’ve foolishly used magic on you and it’s only helped you. In order to kill you, I must crush his head or destroy his soul once and for all. Father, just wait a little bit more, I will see you soon. First, let me tear this damn rat apart once and for all.)

Fera’s magic no longer moved, she forced it still. Her hands gripped into fists as she got into a fighting stance. Just this subtle shift in movement from her caused the air to vibrate and explode around her. She found these tiny explosions mildly annoying and with her aura, she suppressed them entirely.

“Kazuki, I have looked down on you. Never again. One of us will die and one will live.”

Kazuki was surprised Fera actually admitted that but seeing her serious expression he knew now was not the time. Kazuki felt chills run up and down his spine as he too took a fighting stance. These chills however were not rooted in fear but instead excitement.

“COME! FERA!”

*FWHHOOOOOSHHHH*

The air was ripped apart as Fera took a step forward. Her body touching the true essence of speed as she flashed forward. A front kick came forward with a force equal to a planet. Kazuki moved as well. His knee rose up faster than lightning and just as her heel met his knee, the two vanished on the spot.

The very next instant, the two appeared somewhere in space.

Fera’s foot and Kazuki’s knee connected and Kazuki was immediately blasted backward for tens of thousands of miles before he slowed himself with gravity. Both he and Fera looked around in confusion before a small rift appeared in between them. Detra stepped out from this rift and her voice somehow entered both Kazuki and Fera’s heads.

(Since you two decided to absorb nearly all of the magic around Gordonia, I was forced to move you two here. Otherwise even I won’t have enough power to prevent the destruction of the world.)

(My head, how is your voice reaching me?)

Kazuki was generally curious but Detra told him nothing before stepping back through the rift and both her and the tear in space disappeared without a sound.

On the other side, Fera felt her rage boiling. She was forcefully teleported against her will. To have another use their power on her without her permission, all she could think about was how she would fuck Detra up the moment she destroyed Kazuki and her sons.

Now that she was no longer on Gordonia, she could use her abilities more liberally without Detra chiming in. Two large wings made from aura sprouted from her back and she quickly coated them both with the element of space. With a simple flap of these aura-made wings, the power of space propelled her forward with frightening speed. Adding gravity to her body, her speed accelerated further.

Kazuki as well held notihng back. He had been blasted backward and his lower half had been completely destroyed before it regenerated nearly instantly. Ki and aura strengthening flowed through him like lightning. White flames erupted beneath him along with gravity as he accelerated forward like a comet.

A barrier of aura folded around Kazuki with hundreds of layers and then a thousand and then two. Once again, the two clashed. At the exact same time, both of their fists landed squarely on the other face and this time it was both of them who was launched away. The power between them caused space to rip open in multiple spots. At the same time, this exchange of colossal might caused the vast emptiness of space to light up.

Those back on Gordonia saw something both spectacular and horrifying. Every second there were hundreds of flashing lights. The sky was light as it was still daytime but everyone that still had their vision or that had regained their vision, looking up they could see multiple strange colors as Fera and Kazuki fought like ferocious beasts.

It looked as if even space would fall apart as these rainbow-like colors lit up constantly. The people who were already fearful of everything that was already happening couldn’t take it anymore and collapsed on the ground. Knowing that they were so small, so insignificant in the grand scheme of things, leaving them with a feeling of untold dread. Something they had never experienced before and this made many simply want to give up on everything.

At the same time, Asuna and the others were left at a loss for words. Danny had come up with a plan to help distract Fera but now that plan was no more than trash in the wind. With Fera and Kazuki off-world, there was now absolutely nothing any of them could do to help. It was already an almost impossible task to do anything for Kazuki but now it was solidified as fact. With the two in the depths of space, everyone down on Gordonia, all they could do was hope or maybe pray.

Blow after blow rippled out in the far reach of space. These blows sent waves of power careening both wildly and randomly in all directions. As the two fought they moved across space, traveling hundreds of thousands of miles in no time, leaving a path of destruction wherever they went.

This Lower Realm…Under these two fighting…it was starting to quake.
