Return of the Fallen Volume 9 Chapter 41
Torzz now had Zephris’s crown in his possession. With it, he could remove the eyesores without destroying the world itself. He started far in the west and began to cover the lands with Miasma and spread the Azirian’s over the continent like a plague. However, as he wiped the land of its inhabitants, he found several problems. One was control or rather his lack of control.
He found that he was not as skillful at controlling the Miasma as his master was. He could not move it at lightning-like speeds and could only move it like a turtle, slow and steady. Not only that but he also found that the more the Miasma devoured, the more it would seemingly become erratic at random times. Every time this happened it would draw an immense amount of power and focus from himself in order to retake control.
After who knows how long, it became burdensome to move the Miasma. He could do it but it was becoming more and more difficult over time. Slowly but surely though, Torzz was wiping the insects off of the world. Slowly but surely, he would remove them all and the world would once more become quiet to his senses.
Years came and went and he had covered nearly half of Feya in both Miasma and Azirian’s. The world that was coming closer and closer to his vision, like a crack of thunder from the sky, the humans had called upon heroes and summoned them from another world. Torzz laughed at such a scene.
(Ant’s calling upon more ants. They think this will stop my Miasma. They think this will stop my Azirian’s!)
Torzz thought up to here when suddenly he was called away.
(What does the fucking brat want!)
Torzz sank into the ground and vanished. Moments later he reappeared in the shadows of a throne room just in time to catch the end of a conversation.
“Now go Reya. Find my brother Kazuki, kill him and take my compass from his cold corpse. ”
A tall female Azirian bowed. On the end of her finger sat a ring with a small arrow hovering above it, pointing to the distance.
“Yes, your Majesty. I will complete this mission as soon as possible. I shall not fail you.”
With an important mission, Reya stood up and left the throne room. The moment the large doors slammed shut, Fera looked at the corner of the room.
“Torzz, how long are you planning on hiding in the darkness like a sneaky rat.”
Torzz took a step out from the shadows and glared at Fera.
“That tongue of yours runs wild for a little shit. If not for your mother, do you think I would allow you to talk to me in such a way?”
Fera smirked.
“You served her for how many years and yet she abandoned you just as she did me. How you still have any loyalty to her, I’ll never understand it.”
Torzz aura began to rise, causing the pressure in the room to build and become tense.
“Loyalty…That’s not what I would call it. Your mother has merely brought me several benefits, helping you now is merely me repaying what I owe her. I think you would understand that. after all, was it not her that laid your very foundations. Where would little Fera be, if not for the woman she despises so much.”
*BANG*
Fera slammed her fist down onto her armrest, shattering it into a hundred pieces.
“TORZZ, you speak too much.”
“Oh, did my dig hurt the princess’s feelings? You forget who I am. I am a Titan. An immortal power and you…Not even a demigod yet you talk as if you are my equal.”
Fera stood up and the black compass around her neck began to shine. Torzz went quiet for a moment before slowly walking forward. Standing a few feet in front of Fera, he towered over her. For a moment, neither side spoke nor made a move. Torzz could feel the godly aura seeping out from the black compass though and understood her intentions fully before asking.
“Are you planning to make a move or not? Don’t tell me you’ve brought me here simply to waste my time.”
Fera rolled her eyes before her compass glowed no more. She sat back down and with a wave of her hand, her armrest was repaired in an instant.
“How can one’s time be wasted if they have an infinite amount of it?…No, I did not call you here to fight with you. While you were spying from the shadows, I’m sure you heard, my little brother has returned somehow.”
Torzz’s was interested.
“Kazuki still lives.”
Fera nodded.
“I’m surprised you remember him since when do you keep track of a mere human’s name?”
“And why wouldn’t I? After all, this boy escaped from your mother of all people. You’re her daughter, you know her best, when she wishes to kill someone, is there any in this world she truly can’t. My mother maybe but besides her…Yet your younger brother survived her clutches. For him to return though, I question whether or not his mind is stable to do something so foolish.”
Fera nodded.
“He must not think that I know he’s returned. He still doesn’t understand what the compass he wears is. If he did, he would know how stupid it was to bring it back to this world. Once I have it, my plans will be accelerated and I can finally achieve my goal.”
“Ok, so what does any of this have to do with me? Go get your compass and finish it. Once I get what I want that is.”
“You know I can’t step foot in Feya just yet. Have you already forgotten what your mother did? After Detra informed the three Beast Kings of Feya, they made that stupid rule. If she or anyone of her blood steps foot on Feya, it will be an all-out war. Once everything is prepared though, even if it’s not fully complete, I’ll simply go myself. By then their strength should be greatly reduced and their so-called all-out war will be a puff of smoke. I’ll kill the remains and we can finish our plan. It might even be simpler if I just send a fake body or two. That way I won’t technically be breaking the watchers rule.”
“Hmm, you sound scared of them.”
Fera glared at Torzz.
“At full strength, I have nothing to fear, not even you.”
The compass around Fera’s neck began to glow once again.
“You keep making threats little girl but the moment that compass is gone, I’d like to see how much longer you’ll continue to bark at me. Without its power, you have no chance against me.”
“Well, it’s a good thing I have it then.”
Torzz was tired of Fera. He would have killed her long ago but he gave his word to her mother that he would help her. If he wasn’t afraid of being destroyed by that woman, he would have already murdered her spawn. Now though, things were far more difficult. The girl had grown and now was someone that could fight with even he. Not only that, the two’s goals were different but to achieve them, there was mutual benefit along the way.
He would get rid of all the insect mortals and the world would no longer be destroyed by them and she would get what she wanted as well.
“Once again, you push everyone and everything away. It’s no wonder your alone with that nasty attitude. Hurry up and tell me what you want or we just might finally come to blows.”
“Enough! What I want is simple. I want you to sweep the lands with the Miasma and the Azirian’s. With my brother’s back, his compass will very quickly fall into my hands. Once it does, I don’t wish to wait around in this lower realm any longer. That’s where you come into play. I want every living creature on that continent to either be an Azirian or part of the Miasma. With that many sacrifices, I’ll finally use the compasses for their true purpose. I’ll finally become a demigod and the gate to the higher realm shall open for me!”
Torzz couldn’t understand Fera’s thought process.
“You would see billions of living things dead just to ascend. Tell me, why is going to the higher realm so important to you that you would leave this place a land of death?”
Fera went quiet and looked at the ceiling. Above her, there was a painted mural of her when she was a young child along with her mother and father. The picture of her mother was completely defaced and ruined but the picture of her and her father was in perfect condition. Fera felt absolute rage, looking at her mother’s ruined image but when she looked at her father, all she could feel was love and sadness.
She looked back at Torzz and said coldly.
“I don’t wish to be in a place with no one who loves me. This place, this world was a land of the dead long ago. You though I would ask the same question. You love this world but you can’t stand things living in it. Why are you so hell-bent on destroying everything that breaths?”
“Hmph, if only you knew what it was like. Say you lived in a place all of your life and then out of nowhere, disgusting insects invaded your home. They creep and crawl not only all over your home but onto you as well. They breed at an astronomical rate and spread disease and filth to every inch of your home. They smell and screech like wild banshees and ghouls for money and power. They destroy and destroy everything they touch. Not only that but there constantly overstepping the bounds they themselves set only to steal, rape, pillage, one another. Every single scream for mercy, every single plea for help, where do you think those go? One would think the empty void but unfortunately not for me. If you could understand billions of insects, how long until those voices drove you mad. I was here millions of years before them all and I will be here long after them. This is my home and they are the bugs who dared enter it. Their death is kindness from me. I want my world back, I want my quiet back.”
