Return of the Fallen Volume 9 Chapter 61
With a single thought, Danny inserted all 101 cages of lightning directly into the tiny gaps along the moving dome wall. The very instant his cages were forced into the inside of the wall, Danny’s aura flashed dozens of times and the power of wind and lightning gathered around his aura. A single word echoed in his mind.
(EXPAND!)
All at once, the cages embedded within the wall drained the gathered energy of lightning and wind and expanded at a ferocious rate.
In between the sound of compressed dense energy exploding and the minefield resetting, a sound similar to a wall of metal being shredded apart screeched out. With the cages of lightning, expanding rapidly, they destroyed a small amount of Zetrazz’s and Torzz’s energy. Just like when he was stuck with Kazuki and the others within the Miasma, his cage of lightning used his new sword form, along with the power of lightning, wind, and aura to destroy the energy around it.
Danny’s power was nothing compared to the two Titans above but because it used both magic and aura as well as his sword form that can directly sever energy, it could just barely sever the energy in the small gaps in the dome. Since his cages would also be under attack by the energy that made up the dome, he would not be able to maintain them without more power. Without him constantly drawing extra energy using the ancient hand symbols, his cages of lightning would have collapsed immediately.
With this extra energy from the ancient and symbols, the cages, instead of collapsing, followed his will and expanded. As they expanded, they tore the small gaps apart that were separating them and his cages could now fuse together as they grew. Within a fraction of a second, these cages grew and combined until a hole the size of a melon tore open from the dome wall.
Once this hole appeared, Danny acted fast. He didn’t know how long this hole would stay open. The moment the Titans decided they were annoyed by such a thing or just simply saw this hole as something that was defying their power was an eyesore, Danny knew the hole would be sealed immediately and the possibility of opening a new one with the Titan’s now aware of this, it simply would not be allowed.
One of his tentacles of aura escaped through the hole and stretched outward and then split into multiple. With a thought, these tentacles grew and stretched to their limits until Danny covered several hundred miles with them. His focus began to waiver from using this much energy and focus. Not only that, he was still dealing with the continuous explosions inside the dome as well as the suppression coming from Zetrazz’s Aura Breath. Still, even with all of these factors, he would not stop, how could he.
At the end of each of these tentacles, once more he used the ancient hand symbols and gathered as much wind as he possibly could. The moment he finished, he extended his voice through these tentacles made of aura and shouted with absolutely everything he had.
“DETRAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! SHOW YOUR SELFFFFFFFFFF!”
Danny’s voice boomed and cracked. He had gathered so much wind that the moment his voice exploded outward, storms and tornadoes unnaturally began to form. His voice didn’t just travel for a few miles either. With his aura and the wind carrying it as far as possible, his voice found its way across the entire Patar desert. It entered the Great Plains and echoed off many mountains. It went from one coast and nearly to another before it finally faded away. Still, on this day, more humans and creatures on the Feya continent heard this strange artificial voice than those who didn’t.
…
The tornadoes that had spun up unnaturally, along with the freshly formed storms, as soon as the wind faded, so too did this phenomenon. With it, the outside world went silent.
Not only did Detra not respond, this mighty shout from Danny once more brought him to the attention of the two most powerful beings around, Zetrazz and Torzz.
The moment they noticed the hole in the dome, at first they both were shocked. They knew just how strong or rather just how weak Danny was. In their eyes, he was nothing more than an insect, yet it was this very same insect that had torn through their combined power. For Titans, a weaker creature like a human being able to cause damage to their power was an ultimate blow to their ego and brought humiliation which in turn brought both their rage.
Even though Zetrazz knew Danny personally, he was not friends with him, the two were barely even acquaintances and had only held a single conversation. There was no way he could let this humiliation stand. Torzz as well felt extreme humiliation. He already hated humans to his very core and this just added fuel to the fire.
Zetrazz and Torzz both extended a small amount of power downward. Just before it landed upon Danny’s aura, Danny once more shouted with everything he had.
“DETRAAA! YOU RAISED THESE TWO MONSTERS! SHOULD YOU NOT TAKE RESPONSIBILITY AND PUT A STOP TO THEIR MADNESS!? WHAT TYPE OF MOTHER
*BOOOOOOM*
Before Danny could finish his words, an overwhelming power crashed down upon his aura and destroyed every ounce of it that was outside of the mountain base. The power immediately sealed the hole, Danny had risked so much and endured such agony but In the end, it withered along with his last hope.
Zetrazz and Torzz exchanged a look as they saw that they hadn’t killed Danny but merely destroyed a part of his aura. They quickly sensed him along with the few thousand survivors within the crumbling mountain base near the edge of the dome.
Zetrazz took notice of not only Danny but of Asuna, Nunully, and the rest of Kazuki’s friends. The moment he found them, he snapped out of his anger. He remembered why he had come here in the first place. He was so caught up in his rage with his brother, that for a split second he forgot his purpose. He had come to kill Fera because she had killed his rival Glacious in what he perceived a dirty and cowardly way.
Not only that but he knew Kazuki was still alive and was now stronger than ever. Seeing that Not only Kazuki’s lovers were down below him but his friends as well, dark thoughts gathered in his mind.
(Kazuki has gained such strength that he could potentially fight me as an equal now but he’s missing something. Something crucial. A reason, a rage, something to go further than he’s ever gone before. A cruel desperation that will drive him forward. In order for him to go all out…he needs to snap. I originally planned to tell him about how his brother had final words to tell him but I cut them short and allowed him to fade from existence. That would surely have driven him near that point of snapping but I now feel it would not be enough. What would he do if his lovers and all of his friends were killed?)
These dark thoughts spun around Zetrazz’s mind as he began to contemplate whether or not to kill Asuna and everyone else in the mountain base down below.
(If I did do it, then, on the one hand, I would once again have a rival and my entertainment factor would skyrocket. Right now Kazuki does not see me as an enemy, yes there may be some anger towards me but he has no hate for me. Were I to simply ask for a fight with him, for sure he would agree but he would most likely never go all out against me. If those he cares about are destroyed by my own power though…Kazuki would not stop until I was dead.)
Zetrazz felt a chill run through him just thinking about such a fight.
At the same time, he also thought about the con side of things.
(However, if I do make him an enemy, things could get dangerous. I don’t yet know the full extent of his new strength. Not only that, I can sense the Miasma in the distance. Both it and Kazuki are near one another but I do not sense any rumblings of battle. I feel no killing intent whatsoever. Not only that, I can sense a mysterious change happening in real-time within the Miasma. Fera and my brother have been allies this whole time and one of them supposedly had control over both the Miasma and the Azirian’s but when I got here no one had control over the monsters and it seems clear to me that neither of them have control over the Miasma either. If that’s the case, along with the strange behavior of Kazuki and the Miasma…could Kazuki have control over it?)
Pieces of an odd puzzle were starting to fall into place in Zetrazz’s mind. Now that he thought of it, Kazuki’s behavior really was strange.
(He knows his friends are here, he knows they are in danger and yet instead of coming here immediately, he chose to convince me to come. He used my anger for my brother and Fera’s actions to come here and delay them. He needed time, he must be using it to take control over the miasma. This must be the reason. Once he has control over the Miasma, along with his newfound strength, not only will I not be able to stop him, I may never be able to stand in front of him again.)
Zetrazz instantly became alarmed.
