Return of the Fallen Volume 9 Chapter 77
As Fera’s energy skyrocketed, the air began to vibrate across the entire world. Whether you were someone who could sense magic or not it did not matter. Everyone in the world could feel that something in the air was strange. Across the land, Zephris and Kazuki took notice of this surge of energy.
“Kazuki, she’s already started. I can finish the rest, you need to move now!”
“If I leave right now what about you?”
“I just told you I can finish it myself. You’ve already helped me destroy most of the unruly souls and I have enough control now that I can destroy the rest myself, though it will take time. Time, I have but you don’t. Your nasty sister has already started her plans. That surge of energy is proof enough. Just now, I felt millions of my separated souls cry out in great desperation and agony before nothing, complete silence. I can no longer feel them. I’ve seen your memories Kazuki. I know your compass can take in souls. Fera’s compass must have the same or a similar ability. She has taken my souls and absorbed them. If you wait any longer and she absorbs the rest of the giant Azirian’s there will be no way to stop her. She will become a Demigod and nothing will be able to stand in her way.”
Kazuki understood the imminent danger.
“I’m already leaving.”
“I’ll catch up as soon as I’ve taken full control over this Miasma form. With the two of us, we can put an end to her.”
A powerful light blue flame blazed beneath Kazuki as he shot forward disappearing over the horizon. Moments after he took off, Kazuki could sense the element of fire more and more clearly. After reaching the 7th stage as well as absorbing all of Glacious’s knowledge from the magic blood orb, Kazuki’s comprehension of not just the element of fire but all of the elements climbed to an unprecedented height.
Glacious was a master of every element and all of that experience and knowledge was poured into Kazuki like a dry sponge soaking it all up. As he flew through the air like a bolt of lightning, his newfound knowledge showed him exactly what to do to enhance the fire beneath him. The flow of his magic became more efficient and the power of the flame beneath him started to climb and went from a light blue to an even brighter blue and then it became white with a small blue hue in the middle.
Kazuki’s speed exploded upward and he became faster by several times. The world around him blurred but with his enhanced senses and strengthened body with a bit of concentration, the world became clear to his open eyes.
He moved so incredibly fast that the air behind him compressed and heated super rapidly, causing it to explode as he passed by it. These explosions rattled off and were incredibly loud but with another tweak in his magic, Kazuki sent small blades of wind to cut the compressed air, depriving them of the necessary catalyst to explode. This not only got rid of the explosions but also reduced the drag he felt from the wind. Usually, he’d use aura to reduce the wall of wind that would subsequently slow him as he flew but now he could use magic to do it instead.
Once again, this made him faster.
Flying through the air at such a speed would be terrifying for most. To suddenly stop at such a speed or to crash into anything would cause a person to be crushed and their organs would be reduced to a liquified state. Kazuki’s body though had evolved further after eating the Ancient beasts.
He was not afraid of crashing into anything, at least not for himself. Rather he was afraid of what would happen to whatever he crashed into. He could tell that the world itself would most likely be destroyed if he flew straight into it.
For a split second, he wondered why he was flying in the first place. Now that he knew how to mimic the element of space with his aura added with Glacious expert knowledge of the element of space, Kazuki could just teleport to Fera’s exact location. The moment this thought came to his mind though. It was too late, he had already arrived.
—————————————————————————-
Just a moment before Kazuki arrived. Fera had just finished absorbing millions of Azirian souls. Her soul, aura, and powers reached a level most could never possibly dream of.
Her confidence was unlike any other and she could feel her new power circulating through her giving her a sense of euphoria.
“Torzz, step back. I wish to test this power on Zetrazz.”
“What? he’s my brother and I have never gotten to go all out in my entire life. I should be the one who gets to test their powers.”
Fera raised a brow.
“Did I ask for your opinion? Who cares if he’s your brother or not. He made completing my plan slightly more difficult by delaying me. Zetrazz is an enemy and nothing more. Besides you, Titans can’t destroy one another. Your bodies are made of nearly pure energy, and all you need to do is simply pull in the energy in your surroundings. Since there’s always magical energy, you two are almost immortal. There’s no point in the two of you fighting, now move aside, your starting to annoy me.”
Torzz turned to Fera with a glare.
“I am annoying you. You get a tad bit stronger and suddenly you believe I am beneath you. Am I your servant now, are you my parent. Last I checked was it you or I trying to get daddy’s attention?”
The energy around Fera rose by another degree.
“Are you really bringing that up? Are you really trying to become my enemy when the plan is nearly complete?”
“It depends. Even if for the most part Titans can’t destroy one another, it isn’t entirely impossible. Just as you hate your brother to the ends of Gordonia, I too have a seething undying rage for my sibling. We both know this and yet now that I can finally go all out and unleash everything, you are trying to deny me my hatred. So you tell me daddy’s girl, are you going to try and take away what clearly belongs to me. Are you not the one trying to become my enemy and not the other way around?”
Fera and Torzz glared at one another while Zetrazz was smiling watching this little spat. He did not wish to fight Fera. He could feel her strength clearly. Though she would have difficulty killing him, he could feel that she could do it. On the other hand, if he fought his brother, even if things became deadly, he was sure his mother would not allow one brother to kill the other so even if he got backed into a corner, death was not on the line against his brother. Not only that, the more these two squabbled, the more time was bought for Kazuki.
(Yes yes, let the pettiness flow through the both of you. Fight each other and let me be entertained once more. How far will they go, heheheh.)
Just as the two were deadlocked and neither side seemed willing to stand down, a powerful energy source was racing towards them. All three looked in the direction of this swelling energy and were taken aback.
Zetrazz already knew it was Kazuki but the amount of energy surprised him.
(He just entered the Convergence stage and yet his power…It’s already higher than mine…How?)
Fera sensed the incoming energy and felt that it was familiar but she did not understand who it could be. The closer this source of power got though, the more and more clear she could sense it. Her aura stretched out for thousands of miles to try and see who was coming but to her surprise, she could not tell as most of her aura was deflected and blocked. All she could get was a fuzzy sense of a lone figure rapidly approaching.
Torzz thought of who it could be but deep down he already knew. Looking over at his brother, he could see Zetrazz smiling like a demon, which basically confirmed his suspicion.
(This… power. Is this really supposed to be that human Kazuki? How though? Mother said he escaped the Miasma and entered the 7th stage but this doesn’t make sense. How can a human enter the 7th stage in under 30 years of life? This is simply unheard of.)
Realizing his mother was telling the truth about Kazuki, he started to think about the last of her words before she vanished and he finally understood.
(If I fight Kazuki, she would allow him to kill me if it got to that conclusion. She would choose the human over her own son…Damn crazy woman. You warn me as though I’m some naive child. Fine, take a human’s side, and just like the humans as soon as Fera becomes a Demigod, I will have you share humanity’s fate.)
A moment later, the air warped and became hazy as Kazuki arrived in front of them all.
