ShangriLa Frontier Chapter 344: Dragon! Dragon! Part 9 Part 1

A red dragon-like monster and a wounded Dinosaur Emperor. Although each is slightly different from one another, both of them could be classified as “Ultimate-Class” monsters. And now they are about to face one another off, baring their fangs at one another.

In one corner, we have the Great Red Devourer. In the opposite corner we have tri—headed Tyranosaurus…… wasn’t its name something alongside the lines of ‘Dracarus Dinocerberus’? I’d say the advantage was on this monster’s part, since it already has a track record of repelling many multiple-people parties that tried to take it down.

And while the ancient Elven village was about to be turned into an arena for a Monster VS Monster kind of battle, the three players alongside the representatives of the People of the Forest decided to hold yet another emergency meeting. Our meeting place was the ‘usual’ abandoned house in the residential area, one that was already starting to feel ‘familiar’, just like a hanging place you go to with your crew right after the school is out……

「Are we going off prematurely……?」

「Aradval, do the deed!」

「Whoa there, Sanraku-kun! Wait just a moment! I would really appreciate it if you could cut me some actual slack here! See, my HP is really low now, so I might actually die from this.」

Heck, if I have a chance to off you right here and now, it’s all the better in my opinion. …… But now was not the time to hold petty grudges like that.

「For the time being, Tottori managed to pull off a seemingly impossible stunt like that and come back to the battlefield…… So I think it would be a good idea to bring both him and the cute little Bunny up to speed. Let’s share are the information that we know.」

That was one thing that needed to be taken care off. Other was the possible countermeasures we could take here. As it stands for now, we know next to nothing about that third form of the boss.

「…… Right, so I think the most suspicious things right off the bat are those strange crystals.」

「So I guess it really do comes to this, huh? Hardly surprising, but still.」

The mysterious blood crystals that appeared all throughout the ancient Elven village at the same time as the boss’s third form emerged. And it just so happens that one of such crystals was right next to us, so we were speaking in hushed whispers in case talking too loud would alarm it to our presence and trigger something. That being said, since it can also appear indoors, searching for all of those crystals is going to be a real pain in the ass.

「No matter how you look at it, this thing seems to be growing out of the ground, right?」

「And it looks like there is actually something inside of it.」

「So I guess whatever it is that is sitting inside of those crystal, it won’t come out on its own. We will have to break the crystals to see for ourselves what we are dealing with here.」

A myriad of objects that suddenly appeared throughout the battlefield, seemingly screaming “Please Destroy Me!”.

A mysterious pseudo-biological object that seemingly screams “I’m the one you wish to attack here!”

A lingering smell of a battle flag when it comes to the blood crystals: “Break them, and something is sure to happen”.

So, is that supposed to be this boss’s way of saying: “Better watch out guys, there are still landmines here on which you can all step on?”

「We must first test the waters here. Once we do that, we can then estimate if it is something that the People of the Forest can deal with on their own.」

「That strange silhouette…… Is it a bird, perhaps?」

「No, I don’t think so. The shape here is way too strange to be just that of a regular bird.」

「It seems that our tri-headed friend is ready for battle there as well.」

「Not that this really matters, but if it is a female, it could easily take about seven people all that once. Easily.」

「Seven……? No, think that you underestimate it, and by a huge margin. This thing can take on as many as fifteen people all at once and still have room for more. Of course, it would still emerge victorious out of a battle like that.」

For some bizarre reason, Deepslaughter’s lips went up in something that could only be described as the nastiest smile I have ever seen. That woman, she didn’t……!

「W-Why would you make it sound some sexual……!? Even for a joke that’s really crossing the line……!」

「Sanraku-kun, what a piece of pervert you are……」

「Kuh…… Alright, Aradval, my child! The time for you has come to cleanse the souls of the wicked! NOW DO THE DEED!!!」

You stupid bitch!!! Don’t you know!? When you stare into the shitty abyss for long enough, the shitty abyss stares right back at you!!! Now, you stupid slut, it’s time for you to face judgment for your wicked ways! Drown in the sea of feces and lewd humor that you apparently love so much!!!

「DIE!!! DIVINE PUNISHMENT!!!」

Deepslaughter casts a spell of some kind and then a barrier surrounds her entire body, causing my attacks to crush against it and do absolutely zero damage. Oh yeah, is that how you want to play!? Fine, let’s see if that stupid barrier of yours can withstand the heat of my Aradval Rebuild!

The heat of Aradval Rebult did not manage to cause any damage here as well, but because of all of the commotion none of us took notice that the blood crystal that was here started to melt slowly. It was also quivering, as if something was trying to break it from the inside.

It was only after the quivering intensified that we all (plus Emul) took notice of that. Fortunately enough, darting out of the abandoned house was as easy here as ordering a meal at the family restaurant and asking for the receipt at the end of your visit.

「Tottori! I think we would need another decoy here! Any volunteers!?」

「QUUUIIIGGGRRRYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!」

「KYAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!?」

Yeah, it’s high time for another emergency escape here!

Seeing that something was wrong with the crystal, we all turned our backs and started to run in fear of the crystal actually exploding or something other alongside of those lines. Tsundere Hesh here used her magic to blast the desolated door open and we all managed to escape into the open.

In the very next moment, there was a loud explosion and the desolated building started to fall apart, crumbling onto itself. And after the rubble finally set, there was ma huge red mass coming from underneath it, spreading its wings and taking flight into the night sky.
