「This Mechanical Doll right here is the Conquistador Type Elma Type 317. Because of that, it is entirely possible for this unit to install and operate the specially reinforced armor and armaments in combat, as a substitute for its own sub-units should they ever become damaged, corrupted or unable to be operated in any other way.」

「Huh? Seriously? You can do that? But, the weapons and armor I have stored in here are quite different from the mass-produced tools of war, I believe.」

「I do believe that I have made myself pretty clear in my last statement. So what is it that you do not understand about it? Are you absolutely sure that you are using your brain cells correctly? Or maybe you have suffered some sort of brain damage that impairs your cognitive abilities?」

Whoa there! Even though it was the piece of junk that proposed the forging of the contract to me, now for some inexplicable reason it was dissing me with all of its might? Doesn’t that seem weird? I mean, it’s not foretelling that good of a cooperation now, does it?

「The Elma Type Units, myself included, are units specializing in combat in any kind of environment and under any circumstances, including retrieval of objects and weaponry secured on the field as well. Needless to say, our programming is equipped with tools which are essential for disengaging any kind of security protocols…… That being said, I have already completed the eighty percent of the analysis of the machines stored within that bracelet.」

「Those are some pretty big and fancy words out there for something which is basically hacking.」

But long story short, I would seem like this machine doll right here is able to handle even non-standard weapons in a fight, which is actually pretty amazing in its own right. It kind of feels like a salaryman who goes around the neighbourhood smashing people’s windows only to try to sell them their company’s new tempered glass windows, but as long as it can aid me in battle, but…… It would honestly suck if in the next few minutes that piece of junk was able to basically obliterate all of the enemies here using my stored weapons and armor…… Don’t get me wrong, I understand that those weapons are hellishly strong, but it would just feel disappointing here…… No, I guess even if this NPC is a piece of junk, it still is a robot, so it’s intelligence and specs should be way higher than that of any human NPC or even player.

「By hacking into the energy supply system of Non-Standard Special Reinforced Armor that is powered by a Non-Standard Tactical Machine Beast and is activated by remote energy supply, an energy link will be formed from the Non-Standard Reinforced Armor to this unit, which will allow this unit access to the specifications of the Non-Standard Reinforced Armor itself. This means that by forging said link, this unit can temporarely become the Tactical War Beast itself.」

「Okay…… I understand?」

「Of course, it would be best to have the appropriate reactor for the corresponding War Beasts, but under those set of circumstances we cannot allow ourselves to be picky and we will have to make do with what we have on the spot. So the above mentioned method is the best possible way that this unit can recommend in terms of a suitable workaround.」

Yeah, this is a very workaround solution, but I guess that there is nothing I can do about it for the current moment. I mean, it’s not like I would not be able to receive the Non-Standard Aether Reactor from Katsu or Pencilgton if I asked them to lend it to me, but at the same time I would have to explain my current situation to them, which is something I would very much like to avoid at the current moment if I can help it. Otherwise there would be no end to many different, uncomfortable and annoying questions on their end……

「So, you know what? I got this strange hunch when we received the information that Akitsu Akane managed to obtain from Noirlind. And when I was on my way to some new materials mining location in the new continent based on those information, I happened to stumble across a Robot NPC and a Unique Monster and I ended up adding them both to my battle party. And as a result of that I managed to uncover yet another one Unique Scenario EX! What a coincidence, am I right? Hahahaha! I’m so sorry, you can spam me with emails as much as you want, but it doesn’t change the fact that I’m not going to answer even one of them! But keep on trying, maybe it will make you feel better!」

「…… I see, I understand what you mean. Certainly, the current situation is not something that we can do much about, but we also cannot rely on the help of others. If only the circumstances were different here, but sadly this is not the case here.」

If we are about to do this, then the type of battle here would shift from solo battle to a multiplayer battle. Normally I would have liked to try and do this solo, but multiplayer battles have on great advantage over soloing content: the ability to divide to things to do between other people, things that you would normally have to do all on your own. So it’s a great weight being lifted off of your shoulders.

Besides, this whole contract thingy and the race that is a Conquest Mechanical Doll…… Wait, race? So if we are forging a contract here, does that mean that our relationship would grow more intimate? I guess that’s one way in which you can look at it.

「Alright, this whole contract thing…… Let do it! Do what must be done!」

「Approval: Reconquista Plan Boot Up…… Phase One skipped. Phase Two, partially skipped. Phase Three transition, start. Booting up the Your Doll Protocol…… Contract candidate Sanraku, please kneel down.」

「Okay. Got it. Just make it quick, alright?」

Kneeling down on one knee, my line of sight met with that of Elma 317, since at the current moment we were about the same height. From this position I can see that its eyes are very close in design to that of humans, but its retinas look very much artificial right now, with all the clicking noises, swirling, bright shining and all other type of moves that would be impossible for normal biological organism to pull off. Without blinking even once, it continues to stare into my eyes for a moment or two here.

「Retinas information, registering……Contract candidate Sanraku, please raise your palm in front of you.」

「Alright. Coming right up.」

Elma 317 reaches out its hand and connects it with my outstretched hand. I can see some thin blue lines running alongside its hand and arm, and I can feel some sort of heat emanating from my fingertips in places where our hands were connected right about now. Was that also part of the contract forging process here?
