ShangriLa Frontier Chapter 426: Dragon, Oh Dragon! PART 3 Part 1
「Good evening, everyone! So, what’s the situation like in here?」
「Karoshis, huh……? Not good, the Raid Bosses are simply too strong for us. I don’t want to believe that, but their stats must have been adjusted in some way to fit the occasion of the decisive battle. Others should be able to tell you more about it, I believe.」
「Hmm, okay, got it…… How about the costumers……?」
「So far, there has been no attempts at contact from the other side. There is always a possibility that something might have gone wrong on their end. But we think that it is also entirely possible that the appearance of the Colored Dragons caused them to turn around and run away with their tails in between their legs. Or maybe even switch sides. We don’t know which possibility is worse here.」
「So as expected, the Blue Dragon must be the creature that lives in the depths of the sea exclusively, which is a scary concept on its own, I’m not gonna lie here…… But alright, back to the matters at hand. Rooni-san, can I ask you to take command of the frontline forces for the time being?」
「I was getting bored of being the commander of the rear guard all the time, just leave it to me, no problem!」
In a sense, the 10 P.M Army also started to make its moves only when Karoshis UQ logged in, coming back home from a fierce battlefield way faster than usual only to plunge right into even worse battlefield.
Hearing that their Leader was no logged in, the Rooni, the person acting as a substitute leader during Karoshis’ absence, came back to their Guild’s Heahquarters, ready for another player to take his position in the field.
「Oh shit, this is bad! Holy fuck, this is like, seriously bad!!」
「What happened!?」
「It’s the Red! The Red Dragon! I’m not lying, I’m telling the truth!! The Red…… Ahh, what was that name again?」
「The Red Howl?」
「No, I think that it was actually the Red Howl? Or at least something alongside those lines.」
「Yeah, that’s right! The Red Howl…… But what do you mean!? How it could be alive and coming here!?」
「I know what I saw! I’m telling the truth! It’s the Red Howl! It has come back and its coming here! And the bastard burned down a huge chunk of the Sea of Trees’s area where it appeared! And probably the part of the forest that stands in its way!」
This news took immediate effect on all the players that were currently in the room. It was already bad enough that one more Dragon has appeared and was on its way to the frontline base, but the fact that it was destroying the entire area where it spawned and everything in its path was even moe unnerving.
「This is really bad! Now even all of the monsters from the forest are coming this way, running from the Red Dragon! Whatever are we even going to do now!?」
「What about the burnt fields? If they are indeed razed to the ground, then wouldn’t that technically make them an extended battlefield of sorts? Can’t we just push it back towards the place it initially spawned?」
「No, in the current circumstances it won’t be possible! With the White Dragon and Green Dragon now being present as well, we simply luck the numbers to address this threat!」
「No, thinking like that will get us nowhere. Let’s surveil the people present and see if we can actually redirect part of the players towards the Red Dragon!」
Although Karoshis is a Guild Leader and there is a certain amount of responsibility weighting down on his shoulders, when you get right down to it he is first and foremost a Pioneer, a player exploring this world while wielding swords and using magic. And even though initially he wanted for his people to meet every hour or so to give their reports from the battlefield, everyone was so eager to go and fight that no one actually respected that rule. Not that he could blame them for that.
And when the meeting of the guild representatives was finally concluded, each player ran to inform their respective guild about the overall strategy that everyone agreed upon.
The current time is just about to reach 9 p.m. The appearance of that particular being seemed as though it was a fixed event. And in fact, it was just that. It would later be known that the exact trigger here was that: ‘the number of colored dragons present on the battlefield must be three or more’.
「OOOH, PITIFUL HUMANS…… NO, HEROES! KNOW THAT TONIGHT IS THE TIME TO SHOW ME JUST HOW BRILLIANT YOUR LIGHT CAN SHINE ONTO THE WORLD!」
Its voice was not a scream, and it was not even raised. However, the game’s system must have prioritized it over every other voice and sound currently present on the battlefield. It was a majestic and distinguished voice that echoed throughout the entirety of the frontline base, reaching the ears of every single player who was present there.
It was the voice of the lord speaking from the heavens, or it seemed as if the moonlight itself was given the ability to speak up to those upon which it was shining down…… No, that’s not it. The reality was different. It was the voice of the Golden Dragon speaking with the golden glow of the moon at its background.
「HEAR MY WORDS! MY NAME IS SIEGWURM, PROUD GUARDIAN OF THE GODS AND THE ONE TASKED WITH BURNING THE WORLD TO THE GROUND! I AM THE ONE WHO WAITS FOR THE APPEARNCE OF THE HEROES IN THE MIDST OF THE IMPENDING DISASTER…… NOW, SHOW ME! SHOW ME YOUR WORTH! GLITTERING HEROIC DEEDS, THE ONLY BRILLIANE THAT IS TO BE FOUND AMIDST THE UGLINESS OF WAR!!」
Everyone present on the battlefield comes to a complete stop and look towards the sky, where the voice was coming from. And sure enough, it was there.
A shining Golden Dragon King with four shining golden wings. On its head, there was an odd number of long and hard horns, two on the left side and three on the right side. It was looking down on everything and everyone that was beneath him, its whole body shining brilliantly in combination with golden glow of the moon.
「MY LAW GOVERNS THIS LAND AND CRUSHES THOSE WHO WISH TO OPPOSE IT! SING PRAISES TO THE GALLANT HERO, CONDEMN THE IGNORANCE OF THE SHORTSIGHTED FOOL…… THIS IS THE ‘Law of the Dragon’ – Notorious –……!!」
At this moment it was as if its wings had expanded their size further, the golden light that spread from Siegwrum. The Heavenly Emperor became a thin dome-like shape, not only encompassing the entirety of the frontline base, but also the burnt area of the Sea of Trees. The sheer size of this dome was something that even the players were finding hard to comprehend.
「MALIGNANT INCREASING GRAVITATIONAL SPHEARE!!! – FOUL GRAVITY INCREASE!!! –」
