ShangriLa Frontier Chapter 432: Dragon, Oh Dragon! PART 9 Part 1

Skull Azuchi Castle, a Stronghold made out of Skulls and Bones.

When it comes to the main components that constitute its structure, it is a stronghold made out of monster bones, mainly monsters found and hunted down in the Sea of Trees area.

The pillars of the fortress and all the like are made mostly out of wood, but that’s about it. More than wood, the resources here were spent on making blocks and walls out of raw stone, with its increased durability in mind. It ate a whole lot of resource points, but in the end it was all well worth it.

But when it comes to the castle’s true worth, it all boils down to the things that the “Castle’s Owner” can exercise with the help of the special objects and furniture set up with the help of the “Feng Shui Master”.

「Oh wow, won’t you look at that, a direct hit…… Think it will be still alive after something like that?」

「WHAT WAS THAT!?」

「Additional effects and enchantments meant only for the players and friendly NPCs…… This must be E-Miria-san’s doing!」

「Explanation! Can someone please explain to us what is going on right now!?」

「This thing right now is the special buff granted to the Players and friendly NPCs by the Skull Azuchi Castle itself! For the duration of the fight with Red Dragon Red Howl we will all have our Fire Resistance increased dramatically!」

Upon hearing those words, Saiga-100 frowns her brows slightly.

(A buff that keeps on being active even in the face of a heavyweight attack? I don’t know why, but this gives me a really bad vibe for some reason……)

Everyone else seemed to be overjoyed with this new buff that was granted to them on the spot. However, their enthusiasm was not rubbing off on Saiga-100. It was not about her ego or her pride, but rather the issue of empathy and sympathy of all things.

However, this situation might have actually been for the best here. Since granting this buff from the Skull Azuchi Castle seemed to have liven people up and boost their morale in some way or another, it is now more probable than ever that people won’t give in to despair and actually stand up and fight for themselves. And will to fight is always crucial, no matter if it is about fighting monsters or Player Killing.

「This is as best of an opportunity as everything else here! Let’s use this advantage to bring Red Howl down in a flash!」

For the time being, Saiga-100 managed to push her concerns and anxiety about the future to the side…… Yes, she can worry about that later. Now it was he time to inspire people to fight! That is why she opened her mouth and let out words of encouragement.

There is an old saying that states that bitter enemies will always manage to find themselves in the same boat sooner or later.

It means more or less that there are times in life where even the worse of enemies need to work together in order to overcome some sort of a greater threat or issue that presents itself in front of them.

And no matter if it is a ship facing an invasion from another enemy force or if it is a ship that is currently sinking to the bottom of the ocean…… Either way, Saiga-0 was about to let out a long and deep sigh here, feeling that both cases would be equally as hopeless.

「“The Dragon bringing Eclipse onto the world! Oh, my Dear Ancestors, please watch over me!」

「Rugadododo Le Dodododo…… I see that you are doing well, huh?」

「Hahahahaha! A battle of this scale is hardly nothing! Of course I would be! And I would not want to miss this opportunity no matter what!」

Somehow, this was the only way that Saiga-0 was able to describe the hustle and bustle that was ringing inside of her head for the past while.

How? How did it even come to this?

Everything started with a presumably simple issue: since the Bug People proclaimed that they would accompany Saiga-0 to the frontline base, using the Teleportation Gate to get there was out of the question. Therefore, since they could not teleport, the only possible solution they had left was to reach the frontline base on foot. It was supposed to be an experience, but this journey was shaping out to be anything but the “experience”.

That is because alongside the way, for a reason only known to them, more and more people started to accompany Saiga-0 and her entourage.

Like “Giants” led by a haughty female Giant. There was a whole lot of them and apparently every single one had stats that were equal of that of a high—level player or even Saiga-100.

Then, the next ones to join on the march were the “Bird People”, who apparently took Sanraku for one of their own, all because of his bird mask.

Then there were the “Beast People” who also happened to took Sanraku for one of their own, just because for a moment out there he was wearing a different kind of a mask. But that was apparently more than enough here.

And with the addition of the “Bug People” it could have been said that what Saiga-0 was leading here was nothing short of a multicultural and multi-racial alliance.
