ShangriLa Frontier Chapter 459: Dragon, Oh Dragon! PART 36 Part 2
The brilliant radiance of Siegwurm was able to be seen even from a very far away, and even though Katsu really wanted to join his guild mates, he had his hands full with the White Dragon here who was growing more and more desperate here by the minute, just like a cornered animal would.
Katsu drinks down a healing potion in a hurry, but after confirming that his HP has been restored he also realized that the White Dragon was looking straight at him right now. However, it was no longer the same White Dragon as during the moment when it first appeared on the battlefield. Compared to that, it grew even uglier in appearance.
「GERORORORORO!!! POWER! POWER! I NEED MORE! MORE!! MORE POWEEEERRR!!!!!!」
「Now it looks even more like an amphibian. There is not that much more of a reptile left in this monster……」
Normally, the White Dragon resembled an ant or a water flea, with its enlarged abdomen and all that. However, when its HP started to fall extremely low, the White Dragon’s body underwent a change and that abdomen of its “opened up” up and down.
It was just like a huge mouth was now open in place of its abdomen, and everyone thought it would attack with that huge jaw.
But that was not what happened. No, the White Dragon still opened its mouth and started to eat, but it was eating away its own body of all the things it could prey on.
“Re-Birthday”. Compared to such a sophisticated name, what the White Dragon was doing was more like opening and closing a stapler without end or turning the content of one’s purse inside out.
And after that biologically impossible move was finally over and the White Dragon was turned inside out, it looked as though it managed to devour all of its upper half clean.
Then, after chewing for about a dozen of seconds, a horrifying white flesh crawled out on the ground, sticking out the front legs and hind legs formed by thick muscle fibers from the “inside” of the mouth. This new thing attacked the players with a clear murderous intent……
「Hey, you guys! You’ve been fighting against the White Dragon the longest here, right!? What the hell is going on in here!? This doesn’t make any sense!」
「We don’t know what’s going on, either! It’s the first time the White Dragon has ever done something like that! Maybe it has something to do with its HP going down a certain level!? I don’t know!」
「Hmm, is that so…..? Say, Katsu?」
「Yeah! I know! I can clearly see that! More and more people start to gravitate towards Siegwurm! We are going to start to lose this thing purely because we are going to luck the numbers to go on!」
Yes, the transformed White Dragon has not lost the production capacity of its small dragons. Rather, on the contrary, ever since the corpse of the Red Dragon fell to the ground, the White Dragon started to produce even more small dragons than ever before. As if the death of its brethren acted like some sort of stimulant.
Unexpected…… That is the only thing that the players around the field could say at what happened just now. Who would have thought that the White Dragon would then go to devour the corpse of the Red Dragon, and that by doing that it would inherit some of its abilities? It was certainly a situation that never happened before and would not normally occur if more than one dragon was not present in the same place at the same time.
「And now we have to deal with small dragons possessing Red Dragon’s Jet Flames abilities…… Give us all a break! Haven’t we had enough fire up until now to deal with!?」
Katsu swings his fists with the added lighting effect while looking at the flames that burns the side of his face. If he was a little slower, his whole face would have gone up in flames now for sure.
While confirming that the blown-out humanoid dragon disappeared into the effect, I struck my tongue unintentionally that the “destructive” weapons that had been stored in the inventory were bottomed out.
「Argent Owl, how are you holding up?」
「I am already running on fumes when it comes to resources! I tried to go back to the ship to replenish them, but not nearly as good or fast enough of a solution! Living without any money sure is hard, even if it is just a game!」
「Don’t you ever dare to say something like that again! Especially since we know that you are loaded in real life! You should be glad it was me who heard that, and not Sanraku!」
「Gee, why don’t the two of you go and get a room or something? If you want to hit on each other so much, then you are basically welcome to do so! HOWEVER! Do that only after you think what to do about this current situation!」
The more you keep on fighting the White Dragon, the more worn out your equipment is becoming. Not to mention that those who stay here are pretty much unable to go and help out with the Siegwurm raid battle.
What’s more, the battlefield against the White Dragon slowly becomes more and more unpopular and people tend to drift away from it. All because it was not offering that much of a challenge, as the players were only fighting against the ever increasing army of small fires. There are those who stay here from start to finish, but that number of people is not all that great. Not to mention that ever since Red Dragon Red Howl has been defeated, more and more people saw that as an opportunity to have a go at Siegwurm or Noirlind and went there. So at the current moment the tendency for the battle against the White Dragon was shifting against the favor of the players.
「Pencilgton…… Just what is it that you are going to do now? It seems like the line of defense is going to be cut off rather than keep on struggling? But then what……?」
However, Katsu seemed to have forgotten about something very important at one point in time.
Someone else has been fighting the White Dragon from the beginning of this event all the way to the present.
And that person did not necessarily use up everything they had up their sleeve.

「…… If anyone has some wonderful plan or ace up their sleeve, now would be the time to use it, huh?」
A lone woman whispers those words to herself while standing amongst the burning battlefield. Her avatar was roughened and looked as though it has seen better days. Truly, if someone saw her previous incarnation, no one would believe that she was the very same person.
This woman, her name is Animalia.
When it comes to her previous character, she once managed to make a name for herself in the entire ShangriLa Frontier as possibly the best debuffer in the whole game. But now she is only……
「White Dragon Bryleinego…… You destroy nature, you kill helpless animals with your thoughtless actions…… And if so, then I am going to smash you to bits! With that very fist of mine!!!」
She turned into an avant-garde Witch Doctor (Fist Type) who debuffed herself and beat down her opponents with no one else’s assistance.
