ShangriLa Frontier Chapter 476: Gods Do Not Roll the Dice, They Paint the World With Their Brushes As They See Fit

There was only one person currently in the room. And that person was a woman who was glaring at the results screen displayed on her mobile terminal.

The woman got up from her chair and slammed her mobile terminal to the ground in a fit of anger. However, due to the mobile terminal being made from shock-resistant materials and the woman’s innate lack of strength, it simply bounced off the floor with not even a single crack forming on its surface. Needless to say, the results screen was still there, not disappearing and continuing to display the same thing over and over.

Siegwurm, the Heavenly Emperor’s defeat was well within the area of predictions for this event. So there’s nothing wrong with that.

The fact that the Colored Dragons got all decimated like that is largely unexpected, but it was that kind of unexpected that could still be counted as acceptable in the long run.

It was that single fact that was largely unacceptable. But this? What the hell was that even supposed to be? Due to the excessive performance of the Black Dragon throughout the fight it would remain the size of a large dog for quite a while, and his parameters towards humanity were the complete opposite of what could be called hostility.

「………… Could it be “that” guy’s fault once more?」

It’s not a name that was of any particular importance. What’s more, it was a name that was not even on the blacklist that the woman made some time ago. However, it was a name with a clear connection to one of the other names that were on the list alright.

The woman picks up her mobile terminal and starts to operate it in a hurry. The woman connects to the server and starts to examine the information on the black list of the players, all the time wearing a nasty glare on her face.

That’s why she did not want to let anyone indiscriminately inside of the world she so painstakingly created herself. But what should she do now? Should she erase the entire database, just in case, or……? The woman thought to herself for a moment, and with every passing second that nasty glare from her face was no longer to be seen. Once she finally calmed herself down, she booted up her personal PC and started to look for something there.

「…… Yeah, oh yeah! Ufufu, ufufufufufu……!!! Ahh, I knew it! It’s amazing! You are amazing, Grandpa! Ufufufufufufufu……!!!」

Saying something like that to herself, the woman continues to laugh and giggle like mad. There is no need to be all that serious about punishing someone for going outside of the boundaries created by the “scenario”. There are other ways to do that, one that does not require you to directly dirty your own hands and still stay “in” the game’s setting alright.

「I’m not nearly as stupid as that other woman, you know……?」

The woman started to operate her mobile device with a new dosage of determination, completely forgetting about the fact that nearly a moment ago she was hell-bent on forcefully erasing the entire database just so that she could settle a petty grudge. But now her expression was even scarier as she was working towards an entirely new solution.

「I wonder if that woman is going to be enough to handle “Tsukuyomaru”? Oh well, more importantly……」」

With the defeat of Siegwurm, the story of ShangriLa Frontier was about to enter a completely new phase. For the woman it was actually something that was to be expected, but to think that they have reached this point in the game in just about two years’ worth of service, but there are some things in this world that can be forgiven, and some that absolutely cannot.

「Yeah, just like I thought…… It’s that guy alright……」

His appearance was confirmed inside of the game just about this summer. However, there would not be anything unusual about that, if not for the fact that in about three months he managed to clear three different Unique Scenarios EX. This was something that could not possibly be omitted.

「…… So it only goes to reason that some countermeasures need to be taken here, right?」

It would be foolish to just stop and not do anything more after hitting that high difficulty ceiling. So rather than trying to “restrain” the player that was going full throttle through the game’s storyline, it would be a whole lot better to just “redirect” him somewhere else and keep him occupied for as long as humanly possible.

「Avenger Subclass…… Vysache Unique Scenario…… Bahamut Dungeon……」

The woman’s thin fingers operate both the AR console of her mobile terminal as well as the keyboard of her personal PC. All of that with extreme precision and at high speed. The information is extracted and switched at a high pace, and just like that ShangriLa Frontier’s “sub—quest” generator started to create the appropriate “detour sub-story”.

「Ahh, if you have managed to defeat Siegwurm, it should be alright for me to give you a sub-quest related to some normal monsters, right? And we shall place the necessary materials at the Western end of the continent, for added difficulty…… No, that would be too easy. We want to reduce the possibility of stumbling upon Goldunine and pushing her quest line further. If so…… No, maybe the other way around would be better? Or even if they are to be defeated on the first go, there should be a substantial amount of sacrifice for that.

「It would be too much of a hassle if someone caught wind of this, so better hide that program somewhere safe. Oh well, for the time being let’s just increase its attack power by one point five, and make the AI even more aggressive……」
