「Now then, my fellow comrades. Here we have two players who we have verified that they received the invitation from the Orchestra before anyone else did. One of them you already know, Mirei from the team that cooperates with us in the endeavor. The other one is the fellow member of the Alliance that needs no introductions, I believe. It’s Sanraku.」
And just like that I happened to learn the identity of that one Library member who happened to capture my Escape Challenge at Thirdrema all this time ago on tape. And who would have thought that I would learn that from none other than the Professor himself? What a small world we live in, huh?
Besides, now I see? Or rather, I would like to see? After all, the Library may be an information gathering and distributing Guild, but this does not mean that the information always comes to them from the field. So it would only be logical that they have various agents scattered all over the map, looking out for fresh scoops and intel while staying incognito. Now, as for someone like me who managed to make contact with the Conquest Dolls before anyone else and even summoned Leviathan to the New Continent…… You could even say that at the current moment I am the one who has the greatest knowledge threshold as far as the information from the Era of the Gods is concerned.

I have attempted this fight several times so far, but every time the order of appearance for the monsters seems to be randomized from stages one to three, but it’s always the same on the fourth one. Also, it is well worth to note that if you happen to fight the monster whose size abbreviates from normal, the theatre is going to expand or shrink accordingly to accommodate the right fighting circumstances.」
「Here! Here! I have a question!」
Huh? A question? And who is going to answer it? Me? I hope not. But anyways, yes? What is it? I’ll try to understand if it lies within the sphere of my knowledge.

「Gosh, this really is turning out to be a school’s class…… But alright, fair enough. So to start, just how much do you happen to know about the nature of the Orchestra.」
「Each time a new monster appears before the player, the song changes as it explains the nature and movement of said monster.」
「And no matter how much damage you deal to the monster, the song must be completed from start to finish. There are no exceptions from that rule. And the battle does not end unless you manage to complete all of the maneuvers that are described in the lyrics. It’s a Heroic Epic, one that you could most certainly hear about in an opera house. For example, in case of Siegwurm the clear condition was to “fold the corners five times”.」
Once they heard about it, all of the members of the Library started to buzz about in excitement, fidgeting in their chairs.
「Could it be that ShangriLa Frontier has a hidden system or statistic that tracks down how many strong monsters the players have defeated and turns that into numerical value? Could it be that Orchestra refers to those numbers and based on them decides what monster to pit against the player?」
「But a theory like that would not match Remi’s story at all. That there are times when you can beat the monster no problem, and there are times when you simply can’t do it.」
「Something like that could certainly happen if you did not have the skills on you that you had at the time of fighting with that opponent!」
「However, there seemed to be no problem with clearing the battle as long as you were using the weapons and skills that were strengthened from their basic forms. Same with evolved weapons and skills, and the ones that were reshaped. Also…… For example, my battles against the Fortress Gargantua and the One Hundred Legged Centipedes looked very different from their original battles, mainly because of the movements that I was forced to make during those battles. However some things remained the same: destroying the Fortress Gargantua’s “turret” and “reducing the numbers of the Centipede’s legs”. This seemed to be enough to satisfy the clearing conditions.」
「Umm……」
「Yes? What is it?」
「Umm, if you don’t mind me asking, what are those monsters that you were talking about just now? Fortress Gargantua? And One Hundred Legged Centipede? I don’t think I’m familiar with any of those names.」
