ShangriLa Frontier Chapter 551: Combination With Little To No Margin Part 1

When it comes down to the thing we might call “negative entertainment”, it is something that exists for as long as people can possibly remember. No matter if we talk about strongly oppressing the weak just for the sheer hell of it, or the people getting chased down by mammoths and wild animals just so that others could depict that later on the walls of their caverns and have a good laugh from watching it…… Or that’s just how the story goes.
Normally I am always a supporter of the theory that solving one’s problem by becoming a bother for someone else does not really solve anything at all, but at the same time I cannot deny the fact that the nasty feeling of superiority and power over others gives you it’s something you could easily get hooked on. Plus, it lets you get rid of all of the pent up stress and bad emotions in a possibly non-harmful way. So I guess that it is all good, even though it tends to leave a nasty aftertaste in your mouth.
「God fucking damn it…… Talk about a one hell of a bitter finish……」
Even though I promised myself that I would call it quits after one kill tonight, the sheer fun that I had from doing that was so much that I wanted to just keep at it and rack up that lovely kiss score some more! Those guys are just small fries, so maybe I will be able to hit the one hundred kills or even more here? That would be great! But is it really going to be that easy? Because right about now I think that I have made such a mayhem that all the players in the vicinity were being drawn towards my location. The exact number…… Hmm, about thirty? The worst case scenario here would be that the Raid Boss would come after me. But even without the Raid Boss coming after me, thirty people might actually be too much for me to handle all on my own. So I would end up losing here either way.
After that, it was a genuine pandemonium that started here: the absolute top of the game’s sword masters all tried to converge on my location, plus some of the nasty NPCs that got lured in here by all the commotion. On top of it all, it seems that we even had some assassins there in the crowd who just came here to score some easy kills. So even though they were initially all after me, it soon turned into a free for all basically…… Oh shit, this is not good. This is not good at all. With assassins and ninjas thinning out the crowd, only seasoned killers are going to be left in here, which is going to complicate things for me even further at this rate. Well, there is technically an option that I would be left alone while all of this miniature warzone was going down, but it was just wishful thinking on my part that would turn out to be just that; a wishful thinking of a naïve fool. Which is truly a shame, but I guess that’s just how it is, and there is nothing I can actually do about it……
However, even if things were starting to look really grim for me here, there is no reason for me to just give up and accept defeat. Especially since this is a video game. So it is perfectly reasonable that even in the face of a complete defeat I can continue to give it my very best and try my hardest. And as the events in the battlefield were progressing forwards, so was the time. And with each passing moment, the time was getting us closer and closer to the promised time of the date at the JGE.
And since the purchase that my lovely Sister had made in my stead was treated as the express delivery, my new clothes were already here in my hands, so at the very least this is one less problem to be worried about. I must admit, the clothes were nice and all, but the sheer amount of money it cost me made me feel a little bit lonely and sad. But aside from that, there should be no problem. My wallet should be more or less fine here, because recently I have not been buying as many shitty games as I used to before discovering ShangriLa Frontier. If I was spending as much money as I was back then, then my budget would have been hurt pretty badly, but with this, everything should be fine. Or at the very least I was hoping for things to be fine……
「Alright then, I guess it’s time for me to go, huh?」

So there I was, casually sitting in the middle of my room, doing some light meditation techniques. Why meditation? Because I noticed that for some reason my heart was beating like crazy, so I wanted to do something that would allow me to calm it down.
Calm down, my dear heart. Calm down. There is no reason for you to beat like crazy. This is just a simple and normal meeting. Nothing else to it. Just try to behave like you normally would and everything is going to be fine. This isn’t rocket science, you got this!
「Alright! Now let’s just do this and drive him into a corner, with no means of letting him escape……!」
「Rei, now listen here. Words like that are not something that a proper lady should use in a normal conversation. Be sure to watch out for that……」
「I think that calling it a date is a little bit much in this situation……」
「Then there is all the more reason to always be on your guard, Rei.」
「………… T-Thank you, I guess? W-Well then, I’ll be heading out now!」
The advice she was given here was certainly sound if she was to meet with a total stranger, but when she was meeting with a classmate of hers, it just felt wrong. But apparently that’s just how the women of the Saiga household are. No matter where you go or what you are doing, you must always be ready for the situation to turn into a bloody battlefield.
Yes, that’s right! Since it was the first time that the youngest sister of the Saiga household would go on her very first “date” in her life, the other sisters were observing her from the distance, one with the look of pure adoration in her eyes and the other whilst she was slurping down on the cup of cup noodles. Now, if it only wasn’t for their useless comments, this situation right here would have been called ideal……!!

Additionally, the current time was 6:00. The initial time of their meeting was scheduled to take place at about 8:30.
