ShangriLa Frontier Chapter 629: A Revelation and a Red Message Part 1

The time is about two hours before the unveiling the existence of the Elephant of the Gods…… So at the current moment it would be about four o’clock.

At Rabbitz inside of ShangriLa Frontier, a place where the sunset time is different than on the main continents, a certain man was about to meet with a certain Bunny……

「Come on, you can’t just demand something like that after coming with it so out of the blue like that……!」

「What even is this thing? Is this supposed to be a beetle or something like that?」

「Listen here, just because they look kind of similar, it doesn’t really mean that they are one and the same! It’s just a coincidence, you hear me! A coincidence! Okay, once again…… This one right here is the Revised version of the War Helmet “Shiko”, and this here is Hakukaku Helmet “Furious Dread”!」

They both look strong and have strong, menacing names to themselves…… They might look like heads of some Sci-Fi robots, but the real kicker is about those turret-like protrusion that sticks out from around the forehead area. So I totally get why someone would think that it looks like the horns of a beetle. But for the time being let’s just put it on and see what’s what.

「Once you put it on your head, you are going to be able to use a special crossbow gun. So, how about it? Why not trying it out yourself?

「Crossbow gun? Ahh, I see how it is? You can fire projectiles from those strange protrusions at the expense of your own Magical Power, huh? Huh? But wouldn’t an angle like that basically break your neck all too easily?」

This little bastard…… However, I don’t think that anything like that is going to happen here. I mean, it would just be the absolute epitome of a shit armor if you were to get a helmet that kills you every time you use it. Hmm, or maybe it would? I mean, it’s already helluva suspicious as it is, so it might as well do that? Nah, I really need to conduct some field tests to see what’s what on my own. But we can do that later.

Divine revelation, huh? Some really shady revelation that is! No matter how you look at this thing, it’s an old-school style school uniform, come with a long-hemmed skirt and a head piece that looks just like a pompadour……

「Are you really sure that it was a revelation from the heavens? Wasn’t that just something you happened to eat yesterday that gave you an upset stomach? Did you happened to pick something from the side of the road?」

「Ya want me to put ya in the pot and burn ya alive?」

「Nah, I’ll pass. Being boiled alive is one of those experiences that I would like to not add to the ones under my belt if I can avoid doing that as an alternative.」

And what’s this? An added effect granting the user a bonus of whooping three hundred Vitality!? What the hell……!?

「I-It’s an accessory that serves the purpose of the armor……!?」

「What? Surely it’s not something so unusual for someone such as yourself, huh……?」

At this moment, the existence of a fool who continued to play with paper-thin armor without knowing anything better was starting to sound really stupid to me. However, there must have been some unavoidable circumstances for that stupid person to be the way he was, no doubt about it. In other words, it’s premature to treat that person as a complete retard, because assuming something like that would be pretty much nonsensical…… Yes, it would be really stupid and premature.

…… I wonder if I should investigate the effect system of accessories a little bit more sometime later, seriously. At some point, maybe I should think about learning how to produce accessories myself. Who knows? Maybe I’ll be able to even create my own accessories that use the power of Sealed Ambers? That would be nice.

The accessories in this game don’t fit into armor bonuses or ornaments. It is an expansion element of the main body performance that can be called the second armor. And that’s a tidbit that’s worth noting for the future.

「Ah, but for some reason or another this thing seems to be pretty damn heavy.」

「There are more things to weapons than just their special abilities alone. Even the plain and simple ones can become deadly tools of murder if you learn how to handle them properly. It’s as simple as that.」

「Hmmh…… Oh well, it’s not that I can’t learn to use properly one more weapon or two. So there’s no issue whatsoever, is there?」

Especially if someone tries to knock the weapon out of your hand, they will be in for a nasty surprise once you strike them with your fist infused with “Infighting” skill. I might have Ryuuguin Style on to my aid, but a true Sword Saint must always be ready to fight back under the most unfavorable of circumstances, even without his weapons. I mean, only a real fool relies solely on weapons, and not on their own body.

「Yeah, thank you very much for your wise words full of wisdom.」

「Yeah, you better be…… It would really put Pop’s name to shame if you were unable to clean sweep all that Disaster business with that sword he lent you.」

「…… Huh? Is that sword really that great of a thing? I mean, yeah, sure, it looks nice and all, but……」

「I could talk and talk about how great of a weapon that is, and I still would lack the life to explain its full glory to you……」

It would seem that the sword that can’t be pulled out of its scabbard is way more valuable than my own life (or lives, in that context). It seems that I was give one hell of a thing to command, but what exactly is this thing supposed to be, anyway!?
