ShangriLa Frontier Chapter 631: Mystery Unfolding! Thirdrema’s While Cloth Ghost Makes an Appearence! Part 1

Why is it that only at such times the balance of the situation tilts to the other side? Looking down at the apparently tense Allslot, I wonder what happened on the roof to get him worked up like that?

While one of his buddies, the player by the name of Zanryu Hogetsu, is struggling to negotiate with the NPC apparently called the “Thirdrema’s Princess Fredelia”, Allslot was taking a bite from a rice ball that he had in his inventory, all the while cursing the fact that the Unique Scenario which he initially assumed to be nice and easy was turning out to be way more difficult than he initially expected.

「Hey, Allslot! Isn’t this whole operation basically one huge failure? When it comes to the Princess, I can’t seem to understand what her deal is in general……」

「If you just sacrificed a moment to think about it really hard, Reza, then you would have understood it all right away. But does that even matter? Do you really need to understand a thing? Your job is to just carry the Princess once we manage to capture her and dash through the main street.」

There was always an option to just carry their target like a bag of potatoes and make a run for it alongside the main street, hoping that they would be able to evade the eventual chasers quickly and effectively. However, Allslot knew all too well that their main strengths lied in their resilience and stubbornness rather than in speed and reflexes. After all, their main roles were that of attackers who just slash at their enemies in reckless abandon rather than performing crafty strikes and maneuvers behind the lines.

When it comes to PvP, it is one of the most important factors in being successful: knowing how to block the actions of the other party. Since it is something entirely different from PvE, a battle in which you as well as your opponent have the same chance of recovery if you take your distance, the statistic that is of the most importance for the player who is naturally accustomed to PvP is the Durability needed to ignore some damage and the Power to hunt down the opponent relentlessly and until the deed is done. Everything else is just a nice little addition.

Some people just say: “Even if you are far away, if you have the speed to get closer before the opponent moves, then you can as well use paper-thin armor, right? Since you’ll be able to evade all attacks.” Some people dare to wear light armor, saying: “It’s better to have the ease of movement in case of emergency”. However, when it comes to Allslot and his buddies, they are as general and basic as PVP goes.

「…… If the worst comes to worst, we will just lure them into the back alleys and try to lose them there.」

「But hey, I’ve been meaning to as this for a while now, but what is he doing? Hey, Zanryu! What the hell do you think you’re doing!? We still have a job left to do!」

「He said he wanted to try and hit on some people while being at it, so let him have his fun. That way he is going to do his best when the right time comes.」

「I have never done that before, but he sure looks excited as all hell……」

Unique Scenario “Princess Guidance Strategy”. Simply put, it is a Unique Scenario that only requires the players to take the princess towards the exit of Thirdrema, but it is a special Unique Scenario that you have to experience for yourself in order to actually know what it entails in the first place……

But on a side note, everyone keeps on talking about that “Thirdrema’s White Cloth Ghost” as if it was some sort of a huge menace to society in general. It’s a shame that everyone keeps on believing in it even though it is not going to appear in here ever again.

「Huh?」

「What’s wrong, Reza?」

「No, it’s just that…… I thought that I have seen a huge furball hanging behind us for a moment out there……」

「Furball? Don’t you think that it was only your imagination?」

「Yeah, it was probably that. I see now.」

If you think about it now, the reason why they decided to do such a kidnapping was the mistaken assumption that it would most probably lead them to “that guy”. Or that there would be a chance of meeting him, even if it was to be the slightest one out there.

Of course, it is known that about ninety percent of the incidents that took place during the reign of Ashura-kai were caused by Allslot, but even after subtracting it, there was not a single chance in hell that Allslot would also want to go easy on both Sanraku and Katsu, who were for the most part affiliated with his sister. So it was probably some sort of a sick idea of getting at his sister through her underlings. Or something like that.

「Kuh……」

They immediately got into the Grand Duke’s castle, suppressing the desire to complain to his sister, and devote himself to thinking about how to guide the Princess in front of her.

Better yet, they wondered if Allstlot or Reza should disguise themselves as a white cloth ghost while Zanryu Hogetsu is drawing attention, but the acquisition route of the mysterious equipment is still unclear. So that idea was scratched for now. As long as game-like equipment behavior is necessary, they had no idea where or how to acquire a piece of cloth that could cover their whole bodies and act as a ghost disguise.
