CHAPTER 191: OLD FRIENDS

“So Nao-chan, care to explain this situation to us?”

“There is nothing to explain. They are my distinguished guests. Much like you, they were in need of shelter and paid to stay for the night. It is only natural they have breakfast with us since it is included in the price.”

The AB party of eight all seemed frightened seeing Vitou and Marc, but other than that all of them seemed much better than they were last night. It seems that mana crystals that had enchantments for better sleep were working perfectly.

“Well, I don’t mind, but I never expected anyone would come here. Also, I can see why you brought Fulgur with you, he is one great cook, even I have to admit it. No wonder he’s your cook.”

“I shall pass along the praise. But don’t eat too much, we must be on the way soon.”

When everyone was finished I made them all leave the inn and then with the snap of my fingers I made the inn disappear. Saying goodbye to the very confused adventurers we proceeded on our way to the Labyrinth town.

“My bride, what are you planning? Why did you choose that place? I thought you planned on taking different requests and not clear a dungeon. They might realize you are a dungeon master, especially if you become the one to conquer it.”

“Well, destroying the dungeon is a valid request at the guild. But it is SS+ rank for this specific one. This means that it can only be accepted by a party with at least three S-rank adventurers. This may be my only chance to enter it for a while. Also I will be able to gain a boost inside, so it will be safer. Also from the last dungeon that I conquered I think there may be a way to hide it.”

Since we were flying I could talk with Fulgy freely without worrying someone might overhear what we were talking about. And there was also another reason why I wanted to go to a dungeon. Since the monsters inside the dungeon respawn at higher rate, I would be able to gain more from it in a shorter amount of time. It is my only chance to gain more power to defy the Archduke. As I was pondering on how exactly to go about the dungeon we flew the entire time without making a single stop.

“Nao-chan, how about taking out your inn, that way there will be no need for a night watch nor preparing the camp. Here is the gold coin for the room so just let me sleep there.”

“Yeah Naoko, do that, the beds you have are simply the best. I don’t remember the last time I slept so well.”

It seems that both princes had fallen for my beds. That is only natural since they are something that I got through the random reward button. From some reason things from Earth came out from time to time. And bedding is one of those non winning things that came out quite often. It is quite peculiar.

I sighed and accepted the money. It was my plan in the first place, but hearing them so eager about using the inn made me feel like it was a reward to them. Maybe I should have put the price higher, at least for the single bed rooms that they were using. Sadly it was too late now, I could only install the inn and let them inside. Since it was still early in the evening, I decided to prepare some fresh food that Byakko caught earlier. Lately I was interested in preparing meals from monster meat, something that was not as popular, but I thought it could prove a challenge, plus Fulgy already made me such food and it was finger licking delicious.

I decided to start simple and just grill it outside. I found that there is something special about eating grilled food when on a trip. I made sure that Fulgy was helping me since he was more familiar with these foods.

“Oi, oi there is somethin’ smellin’ good here. I never thought we’d come across another group here.”

I froze hearing that loud voice. There is no way I would come across them here in the middle of nowhere.

“Nord-san? What are you doing here?!”

“Lassie, is that you? Oh, what a surprise. Why’re you here and what’s with this inn? I never knew there was one here. Oi Colt, Blink, look who’s here!”

His booming voice was echoing far and I wouldn’t be surprised if people come running outside. However the ones to arrive first were Colt-san and Blink-san.

“Naoko-chan, it is so good to see you. I didn’t think I would see you before the wedding. Congratulations on your engagement.”

“Sister-in-law, congratulations.”

As we were exchanging greetings Vitou, Marc and others came rushing out. This time there was no need to panic since everyone already knew each other.

“But what are you three doing here?”

We were all enjoying dinner together since Cerberus party decided to stay for the night at my inn, free of charge of course.

“We’re actually on our way back to Kapitalia. This is a well known shortcut if you can deal with monsters in the forest. But to think you would have a house like this. You’re way of thinking and exploiting a skill is brilliant. It seems that you will even make use of the smallest opening to make things work for you even if they originally weren’t supposed to.”

Colt-san was fascinated with the explanation that I gave him when he asked me how I was able to fit the entire thing inside my inventory. I could see the wheels turning in his head as he was thinking of where else could he use this theory to make it either easier to use or less expensive. I’m sure he will be able to find at least one or two other uses for it.

The three of them are people that I am most indebted to since they were the ones that helped me when I first arrived in this place. If it weren’t for them I wouldn’t be surprised if I ended up dead after Thanatos-sama dumped me in the middle of nowhere. That is why I had no fear about them backstabbing me or hurting me. After all they helped the weakest me without even batting an eye. That is why after some deliberating I decided to offer them something.

“Nord-san, Colt-san, Blink-san, do you want to join my clan? It may not be the strongest one, or the most famous, but I can guarantee you freedom of action and access to new magic and skills.”

“Hey, don’t go scouting my little brother in front of me. And don’t do business when we’re eating. Besides I don’t want your clan growing much stronger. Do you have any idea how many complaints I got from other clans saying I should restrain you better.”

“Shut it Vitou, this is none of your concern. Now, if you join I will tell you about this new kind of magic that everyone, and I mean literally everyone can use, but I still don’t know how powerful it can be. Plus you would have access to brand new training area and my research on Dark, Spirit and Space magic.”

Colt-san was sold. I saw his eyes gleaming. I intentionally mentioned Space magic since this was an odd attribute. In fact, I think Earl Orzak discovered it first, but I am certain more people have it.

“Lassie, that is temptin’ for our Colt, but aren’t you favorin’ him a little too much?”

“Don’t worry Nord-san. If you join I will personally get a wyvern or any other monster of your choice. I would also be able to enhance all your weapons and armor, nobody is being favored in my clan.”
