CHAPTER 256: THE BAIT WORTH 10,000 GOLD

I was in my room staring at the outfit laid out on my bed. These were by no means my clothes. I do have a few dresses that look striking and can bring awe to those looking at me, but none of them can compare to this single dress.

The dress was royal purple with white streaks woven in which resemble lightning. It was made from a material similar to silk, being both light and airy, but on the outside it seemed heavy and imposing. I had no idea where this came from. There are two people that can enter my room without me knowing. One is Fulgy and the other one is the Archduke.

“My bride, you must get ready. I will help you dress.”

Fulgy walked into the room and picked up the dress. He led me to a small dressing room. He seemed oddly excited about it.

“Did you give this to me?”

“Do you like it? I prepared it especially for you. It took me a long time, but I think it is worth it. Only the best items are worthy of my bride.”

I had no idea when he prepared this. When did he learn how to give clothes to others? I was completely in a daze and only woke up when he started taking off my clothes. I kicked him out and changed into this outfit without his help. He never misses a chance to get close to me.

The clothes were really beautiful and they fit me perfectly. He really took care when preparing them. I even used [Heaven’s eye] to see if there is something else special about them, but they were truly only clothes. I stepped outside and twirled for a bit to let Fulgy see.

“What do you think?”

“My bride, you are the most beautiful.”

His sincere compliment made me smile. I ran to him and gave him a hug.

“Thank you so much, I really, really like it.”

“In that case, let’s go. You have a show to prepare.”

I smiled and activated Transfer, moving the two of us away from the inn. Everything was ready and the only thing left for me to do was appear in front of everyone. Fulgy transformed into his dragon form and I jumped atop his back and held my head high. I made sure to have Amethyst and Sapphire at my side and Crystal Magic Bow on my back. It’s much easier to make an impression when borrowing the might of several great items. I want to make sure nobody takes their eyes off me once I land.

“Fulgy, let’s make one heck of an entrance today.”

I laughed and looked towards the border pass that slowly came into view.

***NAKAMURA’S POV***

I was standing outside the inn with Taichi guarding the Crown Prince who was currently sitting on the porch drinking with Marc. This time none of us were wearing normal clothes, but were dressed in attire that represented our identities. Since we wanted attention, we didn’t bother hiding our extraordinary aura and let everyone stand aside, not daring to approach us easily. I really hoped that everything would go well, otherwise all our efforts would have been in vain.

“Everyone look, there is something coming here! Is this the legendary dragon that serves the Elemental Empress?”

I almost choked when I heard the people talking. When did Fulgur become famous as well? If those people knew that dragon was Vitou’s love rival, I don’t think they will be praising him so much. When one person pointed out Fulgur everyone gathered and watched as the shape became bigger and bigger. Soon a small figure could be discerned on the back of the dragon. I must say she really can have a great impact on people. But now that I think about it, they must be curious about her. After all she has her fair share of stories and titles; the Queen of adventurers, Elemental Empress, future Crown Princess and more.

Taichi stepped out and began clearing the crowds so that there was a place for her to land. Thankfully, people cooperated well and soon a large area was cleared out right in front of the inn. As soon as Naoko-san and Fulgur got closer, I couldn’t help but stare at them just like everyone else. I have to say that she really knows how to make others look at her.

“She’s coming! Look how grand she looks. Our Crown Prince is really lucky and blessed to have such a girl.”

I wanted to laugh. If these people become aware of how much trouble she caused Vitou ever since the two of them became officially engaged they would not dare utter these words out loud. I glanced up and saw Fulgur passing directly over us and a strong wind stirred up dust in the air. The next moment a figure dressed in purple clothes appeared in the clearing. Vitou stood up and walked towards that figure and stood in front of her gently patting her head.

“Did you have fun? I was worried about you.”

“Your Highness, this time we gained a lot. My dowry just became bigger.”

I got goosebumps when I heard such coquettish words and tone she spoke with. It was terrible. I never thought she would be able to come up with such an act. If I didn’t know about the act and she suddenly started acting like this I would be scared stiff not knowing what she was planning to do to me.

“Oh, what is it? Do you want to show me? Many people here also want to see what you did. I was asked a lot to tell you to show them if you got anything good. Can you do it for me and display it for everyone to see? I want the world to know that my Nao-chan is not only beautiful, but also very strong.”
