The current party is made from myself, Volff, Helix and Obsidian.

Heather watches over our battles as a total supporter, so everything went off without a hitch.

I hope that we will do just as good on the next map as well.

Now then, we should be on the next wide area map soon.
I wonder what kind of enemies we’re going to happen upon there.

Okay, it’s a little disappointing, but it looks like we have more of the same here, but with slightly changed appearance and color schemes.
Again with the lions, but this time with higher levels, huh?

But we were definitely lucky that there was only one of those things.
It might look like a cheap reskin, but it packs one hell of a wallop.
I thought I could easily finish it off by having Zangetsu kick it to the head while I aimed for one of its front legs, but to my astonishment, he managed to survive.
He even bit me on the foot!
That one attack was one of the more painful ones I have received in recent days.
It definitely is an enemy whom we can’t let our guard down around.
But in the end, it had to fall before our advantage in numbers, especially when both Helix and Obsidian attacked it from the sky.

The fight itself was quite good, but much to my annoyance, no item was dropped from it.
I guess I should accept my shitty luck when it comes to item drops and just move along.
We have to hurry along if we want to go as far as possible today.
The further we go, the number of trees gradually increases.
But the terrain itself, which could be classified as plains, continued to sprawl itself onward before my eyes.

With the trees came new types of monsters.
The ones that attacked us in quite the surprising way.
From atop the trees, where they blended in with the background so we couldn’t spot them right away.
Before I realized, one of them descended from among the thick foliage above my head and tried to squeeze its long, slimy body around my neck.
And to top it off, it wanted to pull me off from Zangetsu’s back!
This bastard is quite the intelligent one, I will give him that.

In an attempt to wrestle myself free from the constrictive grasp of the monster, I grabbed the claw from the belt around my waist and scratched its body with it.
Thankfully it worked, and my poor neck was set free.
Now then, let’s see who’s the guy who wanted to 1UP me like that.

Shit, this is bad!
The marker above my own head was green, but a small violet one next to it indicated that I was afflicted with the negative status – Poison.
But when was I even bitten? I haven’t felt a thing.
For now my HP decreased only for about 10%, but it soon became obvious that unless I will do something to stop it, it will continue to decrease until I die, so until I deal with it, I won’t even have the time to get my weapons ready to protect myself properly!
Damn!

The Man-eater Lion who’s appeared together with the venom Python looks exactly like a Summoned Monster that went through the process of Class Change.
It sure would be nice to add it to my monster collection as one of my allies, because as enemies, these things are well and truly annoying.

I gulped down the antidote taken out of my《Item Box》in a hurry.
The marker that indicated my poisoning disappeared, and the gradual decrease in my HP has finally stopped.
Good.
Now we can start the counteroffensive.

Unfortunately I dropped the cane I was using while on horseback when the Venom Python tried to pull me off Zangetsu.
Now, what do I have equipped in my left hand?
Is it Snow Leopard’s Bagh Nakh or Gale Tiger’s Bagh Nakh?
I have no time to thoroughly check which one it is.
I mean, I do have the time, but if I turn my gaze away from the giant snake it will probably try to bite me again and dealing with being poisoned is the last thing I want to do right now.

I pulled one of my Tokkosho’s from my belt and expanded its blade.
The lightning one.
I set this one in advance just in case there was even an emergency like the one I’m currently facing.
When he saw it, the snake lifted its head in the air and moved its split tongue.
He moved it around in a wavy manner, as if he wanted to hypnotize me to lose my concentration.
It was only my assumption, but he was probably being wary of the electricity which was running up and down the blade with a crackling sound.

Gradually, we started to approach one another.
Slowly, step by step, in order to see who’s going to lose his cool and attack first.
But the one who made the first move was neither me nor the Venom Python.
It was Heather.
Flying directly above him, she launched a wind projectile right to his head.
Helix launched his surprise attack from behind him.
I have to admit, I totally forgot that Helix was also here. Could it be some kind of passive Presence Concealment skill?

Taking advantage of my monster’s pincer attack, I moved in for the kill.
I ran to the snake and made a thrusting attack, piercing the lightning blade straight through its body.
For a moment I thought it will not be enough to finish it off, but thankfully it was enough.

The snake went stiff and stopped moving.
Just to be on the safe side, I ordered Zangetsu to trample on his head, and Volff began to happily bite into his body all on his own.
Hmm…
Actually, let me join in on the fun too!
Yeah, that’s what happens man! That’s what happens! Where’s your stupid poison now, bitch?! Not so tough without it, huh?!

After some time of traveling, Volff suddenly started growling at a group of trees nearby.
When I looked in that direction, I noticed that something was definitely there.
Another snake?
Or maybe a lion this time?
