Chapter 229 Part 4
We’ve not been in the S3W1 map for even five minutes, and we have already ended up having to go through our first encounter there.
Now what do we have here?
A pair of demons?
Succubus Lv.9
Monster Target Subjugation Active
Battle position: Air, Ground
Dark Attribute Fire Attribute Wind Attribute Dust Attribute
Incubus Lv.9
Monster Target Subjugation Active
Battle Position: Air, Ground
Dark Attribute Fire Attribute Wind Attribute Water Attribute
Both the Incubus and the Succubus look exactly like you’d expect them to look: Incubus looked ugly as shit and one part of his body was certainly… oversized, while the Succubus was the exact opposite: a bewitching, devilish beauty with big knockers and plump butt.
Even though she’s a demon, she was still a “11/10, Would Smash Again, IGN” type of girl.
They both had bat-like wings on their backs, which added a sense of harmony to their appearances.
But it looks like they are not alone.
What is accompanying them?
Ghoul Lv.4
Monster Target Subjugation Active
Battle Position: Ground
Darkness Attribute
Gura Lv.3
Monster Target Subjugation Active
Battle Position: Ground
Darkness Attribute
Oh come the fuck on!
What is thus horror movie bullshit?!
First we had a literal Jurassic Park and now this?!
And there is a fuckton of them!
There are so many red markers that are littering my screen so much that I’m having trouble seeing anything else but color red.
Ghouls obviously look like skinless, rotten corpses, while Guras have the appearance of a woman, although not as alluring as the succubus.
However, any semblance of charm they might have had got obliterated by their spiked teeth and red, glowing eyes.
Obsidian, Teromea, Gengetsu.
You guys will take care of all the flying enemies.
Since I can’t do anything against airborne enemies, I guess I will have to fight against Ghouls and Goras together with Volff and Tigris.
By the way, while we’re on the subject of Ghouls.
Shouldn’t they also be classified as Undead?
I really can’t grasp my head around how the monster classification system works in this game.
[True Practiced Spirit!]
I tried to cull the enemy numbers using Martial Arts.
But there was too many of them.
I can’t afford to drag this on for too long.
This is bad!
This situation can go really south really quickly!
But for some strange reason, this is making me really excited.
It’s like I’m high on some really messed up drugs without actually doing drugs.
At first I thought that attacking them with a lightning infused Tokko & Tonfa combination might be a good idea, but even if Tokko’s bonus effect go triggered, it didn’t slow down the ghoul’s movements at all.
They are tough.
What am I going to do now?
What should I be doing right now?
Okay, let’s try something like this.
I put the Tokko and the tonfa away, procure the 《Item Box》 and took the Glass Light Sword from it.
Maybe attacking the mobs around me with it will yield better results.
Now let’s coat the blade itself with wind magic and see if my plan is going to work or not.
[Shhh!]
There was a fiery flash when I have swung it.
The first attack was aimed towards the group of Guras.
Of course, there is damage.
However, not in the way I originally intended it to.
The magic enchanted blade has cleaved off their legs.
Hmm….
I am… oddly okay with this?
But in actuality, I was aiming to cut off their heads.
In short, even if you miss a bit, it won’t matter because as long as you’ll cut off large chunks of the enemy bodies, you’ll achieve your goal of gaining some breathing space in this whole clusterfuck.
Even if your aim will be off, as long as you hit any of the vital points, you’re golden.
Still, even with such injuries, Guras were still moving, and their HP bars still had 70% of their total HP left.
However.
If they will lose one foot, their threat will be reduced by half.
Because both Ghouls and Guras didn’t have any long range attacks.
Guras only had poorly made knives in their hands.
Well, I Think we’re just about done with that group of enemies.
Their movement has been impaired, so they have no means of attacking me further unless they get extremely close.
Other than that, nothing to worry about.
It seems that battles are taking place in the sky.
It is reflected in the edge of the field of view.
It’s a bit of a hassle, but I set it up to record this battle.
Succubus or incubus?
I am interested which one is going to be dead first.
None of the ghouls and Guras on the ground were able to move properly anymore.
Approximately half of them have been finished.
The other half is still being executed by Volff and Tigris.
Then, an Incubus crash-landed next to me
Much to my surprise, it changed into another monster in a matter of seconds.
It transformed into a snake.
Then, it attacked me, but my sword was ready.
And that was it.
Even if my monsters did most of the heavy lifting, I was still the one to deal the finishing blow.
So basically it’s just like with every other flying monster: knock it out of the sky and you’ll have nothing to be afraid of.
Obsidian, Teromea, and Gengetsu are chasing after the Succubus.
It tried to lose them by flying at high speed, but it was of no use.
When they finally closed the gap between them, Teromea launched its mallet at it while
Gengetsu continues shooting it with its own projectiles.
Well, that’s good.
Out of all of my party members, Gengetsu was the only one who suffered from a spending a little bit too much MP.
Soon after that the Succubus has fallen.
The number of monsters gathering around it is also steadily decreasing.
Not long after Teromea deals the finishing blow to the last of them, recovering a portion of the MP it has lost.
Not yet.
I need to fight some more!
That much was not enough for me!
I can still hear the sound of blood pumping in my ears!
Only the blood of my enemies or some good Drop Items will be able to calm me down now.
Yes.
Some really good drops are exactly what I need now.
But regretfully, the only thing that I have obtained now are the Magic Stones from the demonic enemies.
Why must the drop rates be so tricky all the time?!
《【Dismantle】 skill Level Up!》
Tricky?
Maybe so, but even despite that, the level of my 【Dismantle】 skill has improved, so I guess that’s good.
So now, my priority for now should be moving forward.
Let’s run for now.
Run and make our way towards the Area Portal.
In the meantime, we had two more encounters with a Succubus & Incubus Pair.
Their levels were lover than the first pair we have encountered, so of course they got utterly annihilated.
The number of Ghouls and Guras accompanying them was also way smaller than the first time.
As per the usual, none of them dropped anything.
The only drops I managed to obtain were the Magic Stones from Succubi and Incubi.
Tricky.
Drop rates and their percentages are really needlessly complicated.
Isn’t there some easier way for someone like myself to make some good money?
Because if I have to continue to hunt more monsters while counting that maybe the next encounter will net me some good haul, then I prefer to make my way towards the Area Portal without stopping.
