Chapter 330 Part 1

330

I’ve logged in.
There are no messages.
Well, there’s no way the equipment will be ready so soon.
And, besides…
It must be a pain to be receiving requests from here and there like that…
Perhaps I should show a little more restraint.

Oh well.
That was just a little reflection.

Time to summon Bunraku.
What should I do while waiting for the food…?
Let’s sort out the Akoya Pearl Oysters.
Usually, the small ones only contain tiny pearls.
But sometimes there’s nothing inside those.
So I’ll be selling those without opening them.
The rule of thumb will be to sell those up to Grade B- unopened, and open those that are Grade B and above.
That will significantly reduce their number.
Even so, there may be more than 10.
Those obtained from Clasping Giant Clams tend to be of good quality.
Where were they stored?
But it’s a shame.
If I have another chance, I would like to take them to Margrid.
I have one white South Sea pearl, two golden ones, and two black South Sea pearls.
Oh well.
My materialistic desires seem to be in good health.

Perhaps I should hunt Lesser Dragons next.
Moving beyond the N2E12 Map also sounds good.
Though I’d also like to keep looking for pearls…

No good.
My materialistic desires are getting in the way of my decisions.

I can also hunt on this N2E12 Map.
Which is really good.

What about looking for pearls?
It’s good.
Really good.

Exploring the Maps adjacent to N2E12 also sounds nice.
There are probably unfamiliar landscapes there…

It’s troubling.
It really is, but…
For now, let’s eat breakfast.
You don’t have to worry about this now…
And yet, while eating, I couldn’t help but be worried.
How troublesome.

So, what should I do?
Yesterday, my most active Summoned Monsters were those who can be used underwater.
Today, I would like to give other Summoned Monsters a chance to play an active role.
That’s what I’m thinking.

Then…
Let’s head north.
Should I fly there?
Or maybe travel by ground?
Let’s start by flying.
I can expect to face a few Snow Wyverns on the way.
There is no doubt that he they are formidable enemies.
But I can beat them.

By the way…
Let’s also try the Snow Wyvern’s Lance.
What about the lineup?
I’ll go with Obsidian, Heather, Couturier, Aotsuki, and Sputter.
Let’s see how it goes after entering N3E12.
Depending on the situation, I might want to switch to moving on the ground.
It was during the night, but I’ve found Chimeras, Lamias, and Arachnes on the ground here before.
I’m concerned about their low levels, though.
Will it be the same during the day?

Dealing with a group of five or more Snow Wyverns in the air is tough.
That’s because their coordination is quite good.
However…
An opportunity for witnessing a fearsome scene has arisen.
There are dragons soaring through the sky.
A Cloud Dragon and two Lesser Dragons.
It seems like the Cloud Dragon is having the Lesser Dragons hunt in the sky.
And their opponents were those five Snow Wyverns.
Despite being somewhat overwhelmed by their mobility, the five Snow Wyverns ended up being slaughtered one after another.

Amazing.
Is this a hunting ground for those dragons?
It seems that those dragons, which had yellow markers floating above their heads, have noticed us.

But they ignore us.
They ignore us completely.

Yeah.
I don’t think they’ll give me the Snow Wyvern corpses.
The Cloud Dragon took all of them back with it.
I wonder what would have come out of those corpses…
I can kind of imagine it.

I flew alongside the dragons for a little while.
Even just watching them is a sight worth seeing.
Come to think of it, there was something I hadn’t noticed up until now.
I was never able to confirm what kind of marker the Bronze Dragons had.
Were they hostile?
It’s not like they were friendly.
Neutral, maybe?
Perhaps they could have turned hostile depending on my actions.

There’s a high chance that, the moment I attack this Cloud Dragon, it’ll bare its fangs.
Of course, I wouldn’t do that.
I cannot.
That’s the extent of its majestic appearance.
In the case of the Golden Red Dragon, I don’t think I would be able to act properly if it was right in front of me.
And these dragons are probably followers of the Golden Red Dragon.
I can’t interfere with them.

The dragons now seem to be changing to the left while gradually descending.
Oh!
The color of the Cloud Dragon vividly changed just now, as the sunlight reflected on it.

Dammit.
I should have recorded it on video!
How careless of me.
I was too absorbed in enjoying the sight!

What about facing Snow Wyverns in an aerial battle?
It’s a tough fight.
But having already experienced the most grueling battles, this is nothing!
I have taken measures.
Resist Ice is always on.
Knowing the opponent in advance makes me feel a bit safer during fights.

So, how’s the Snow Wyvern’s Lance doing?
What I was concerned about has become clear.
Even with my strengthening spells on, it’s very hard to handle with one hand.
It looks like I’ve got it under control, but not really.
The results are more than satisfactory, though.
I think it would probably be okay to use Boosted Power with this.

There are Snow Wyverns in front of me.
Only two of them.

Is it okay?

Shall I try it?

I’m gonna do it!
I’ll have to try this eventually anyway.
So let’s do it now!

How did that turn out?
Now I can handle the weapon quite well.
However…
As I finish getting items out of the monsters’ corpses that fell on the ground, I’m being attacked by a Lesser Dragon – Dark.
Hey!
I can’t use spells, you know?!

It’s bad.
I shouldn’t have gotten carried away.
The wings of Lesser Dragon– Dark were shaped like bat wings.
They’re very quiet, but also very fast.
That’s right.
In terms of aerial mobility, it’s on par or even superior to Aotsuki!
This one is of a higher level than that Level 5 we fought before.
How dangerous can it be!

Despite all that, this guy unleashes its Breath attack.
Whenever we cross each other, it tries to bite, as well as swinging its forelegs, hind legs, and tail at us.
And it also has a very strong defense.
It’s like a fighter jet with the firepower of a tank.
It’s not just troublesome; it’s a real hassle.

The breakthrough came from initiating an assault from a position where we were flying parallel to each other while closing the distance.
A small opening created by the distracting attacks of Obsidian, Heather, Couturier, and Sputter.
We intersected.
My attack was aimed not at the body, but at the wings.
Although I couldn’t directly hit the joint, I managed to tear a large portion of its wing membrane.
This didn’t cause it to crash, but it still seems that its aerial mobility has been significantly compromised.

This looks good.
Can we clutch this fight?

We made it.
In the end, concentrating attacks on the wings and rendering it unable to fly made a significant difference.
We then launched a ground assault where it crash-landed from the air.
However, it’s a dragon, even if it’s of the Lesser species.
A single blow can’t deal more than 20% of its HP bar.
Well, that makes sense.
I would normally use Lower DEF first, but I couldn’t do that for this fight.
So it was a serious fight.
My strengthening spells would remain active only for a limited time.
I wanted to finish it off quickly.
It tried to keep us away by continuously shooting breath from the ground.
Truly admirable.
The battle was slightly even, but there was no way this dragon would be able to keep using its Breath attack much longer.
Eventually, it ran out of juice.
And our strengthening spells’ effects were also about to expire.
At the same time, Boosted Power was about to wear off as well.

At that point, we had no choice but to take a leap of faith and throw ourselves at its chest.
Aotsuki was also very motivated.
No, rather, she was determined to kill it.
She had sprouted her horn.
These were the right conditions for a direct hit with her full weight behind the charge.
That determination is what I like to see.
Let’s do this!

Aiming for the torso, even more for the belly, we launch our assault.
The result?
The Lesser Dragon – Dark is on the verge of death.
Its HP bar has drastically decreased to close to 10%.
I’m impressed to see that it can still move a little!

Couturier and Sputter gouge into the monster’s wound.
Obsidian goes for its eyeballs, and the scene that followed could only be described as a gruesome sight.
Way too harsh!

My next blow hits the monster directly into one of its eyes.
This seems to have put an end to its suffering.

《Summoned Monster『Couturier』 Level Up!》
《Please add 1 point to a desired stat.》

A Lesser Dragon – Dark, huh?
I wasn’t expecting these to be such formidable enemies in the air!
I should also keep in mind that this was a higher-level one.
Maybe it would have been better to intercept it on the ground?

Couturier’s INT increased automatically upon leveling up.
I’ll choose AGI as her second stat increase.

Couturier Giant Queen Lv5 → Lv6 (↑1)
 DEX 20
 AGI 35 (↑1)
 INT 13 (↑1)
 STR 10
 VIT 10
 SPI 10

I am once again reminded…
That Boosted power is a double-edged sword.
This was undoubtedly a dire situation.
I ought to check my surroundings carefully.

At any rate…
Nothing came off the monster’s corpse.
I really don’t appreciate this.
