Summoner is Going c236 – Part 1
「Mio-chan is here!」
「Adele-chan is here! I was waiting for you!」
With similarly excited voices, Mio and Adele shouted at each other. They were quite touchy, but I had no comment on that.
Irina soon joined Adele and Mio in their bear hug, and it just became a rowdy mess.
And in no time, girls’ talk started between the three.
No, I suppose machine gun talk might have been a better way to describe it?
I didn’t have any skill I could use to interrupt their conversation.
「Just as usual~.」
「I heard of what happened! It was a big success, yes?」
With Fiona at the front, several leaders of the Production Job Player’s Guild were already gathered.
We first started by exchanging information.
It was a very relaxed conversation, closer to a chat than anything else.
First on the agenda was the general situation.
Rick and Yuka were among the Production Job Players I was familiar with, so I soon noticed that they weren’t there. They were apparently at the Spring of Mist.
It looked like Shinonome was trying to build a better settlement at the Spring of Mist. A project that was proceeding nicely.
I also heard that there had been a flood of requests to create new equipment due to the event, but it seemed like it was starting to calm down.
And of course, with all the new Production Job Class Changes, there were a lot of new items that they could make.
For example, there were some mouth-watering items geared at Troopers that were floating around here and there.
Because of that, Margrid was more excited than ever to buy crystals off of whoever happened to have some.
「Crystals! Any colour is fine. I want to buy as many as you have, I’ll give you a good price, okay?」
「What?」
I asked, and apparently Margrid got her Class Change and was a Jeweller Leader now.
The Class Change meant that she was even capable of working with crystals.
Apparently the Alchemist Leaders in the Production Job Player’s Guild needed them to make some kind of new item.
Apparently that new item was called a “Contract Crystal”.
What did it do?
Apparently, the Contact Crystal was used to turn a wild horse into your own personal horse.
And by using the crystal, one could summon and recall the horse at will, not unlike how a Summoner could summon and recall their Summon Monsters.
Yep. It essentially lets non-Summoners get themselves Summon Monsters.
It would be especially useful for traversing past caves, where keeping a horse would be quite difficult.
Huh…
It definitely seemed like a very useful item.
As a Summoner, the ability to summon my own horses was something that I had been taking for granted… But I suppose with this it’s going to be possible for other players to do something similar, huh?
I definitely understood where the appeal was coming from.
Apparently, the crystals could be used to make other items used to disable spellcasting for enemies…
But the current demand seemed to be overwhelmingly for those Contract Crystals.
Well, I suppose that was kind of expected.
「Helga just got her Class Change today too, so she can start working on these crystals right away.」
「I have next to none of those crystals left though…」
I wasn’t being pressured at all by their expectant gazes, but I still decided to sell off all the crystals I had on hand anyway.
I had Zangetsu with me.
I would be just fine without one of those Contract Crystals.
When I was finished placing on the table all the crystals I had saved up along my journeys, there were nearly 50 of them.
I had no idea I had this many…
I suppose they just added up after a while.
I did get quite a lot of them in the S1W3 map.
The Nue there would yield yellow crystals, while the Chimeras yielded crimson crystals.
Looking at the pile of crystals, those two colours were definitely overwhelming the rest.
There were relatively few amethyst and smoke crystals.
I also had a feeling that some crystals I got by excavating Ancient Stones.
Speaking of which, Ancient Stones tended to accumulate very quickly too, huh.
I had to get on top of that too.
「By the way, I happen to have a commission in mind, is that okay?」
「Sure.」
I consulted with, and then made a request to Margrid.
It was on the polishing of some jewelry.
How much?
A lot of jewelry.
Well, not that much, but having to polish more than three at once would take even Margrid a lot of time.
「A Tsavorite, as usual… An opal, and a topaz, yes?」
「I understand if it’s going to take a while.」
「But you also need equipment for your new Summon Monster as soon as possible, right?」
I saw her line of sight shift a bit to Gengetsu, who was floating behind me.
Oh, yes.
Okay, okay, I did want some more equipment.
And yeah, I was looking forward to getting some equipment for Romulus too.
I recalled Heather and summoned Romulus.
「I wanted to ask if it would be possible to get a collar for this guy too.」
「Oh? What happened to the one I gave you before?」
「Huh?」
「Did you seriously forget about it? I gave you some collar parts the other day to use as spares, right?」
Wow.
Thinking about it again, she was right.
I took the parts out of my 《Item Box》 and tried assembling them.
It was actually quite easy.
It didn’t have any gemstones though.
「Right?」
「Yes.」
It was quite an embarrassing moment.
To forget about something this important…
「Ah, I would love to have some of those parts too…」
「I want some too!」
「Me too.」
Adele and Irina quickly stepped in.
True, they did need equipment as much as I did.
「I have enough for everyone, you know. You don’t have to crowd around me like that.」
Margrid was as calm as ever.
As expected of her.
Wait, why was Romulus already at Margrid’s feet?
Did I have any other requests in mind?
Yep, I did.
I wanted to sell off some of the items that I had too many of.
In particular, I sold off all of the meat I had on me, leaving only some Sifca Meat for myself.
I also sold off all the skins I had on hand, except for the ones that I was going to need to commission armour.
I sold off almost all of the claws, fangs, and wings too.
Of course, I was sure to sell the Cliff Goat Fur too.
Leaving only one piece of Suspicious Pumice for myself, I sold the rest.
Oh, it was a refreshing feeling.
To finish off, I decided to use the rest of my materials to commission some armour too.
Well, it was mostly just leather though.
I definitely wanted to make a shield out of that Ankylosaurus Skin though.
But the Ankylosaurus Skin was actually quite a common item.
It wouldn’t be fun to just paste it onto a shield and call it a day.
I had a new idea. I wanted to use the Ankylosaurus Skin to reinforce my Snow Beast Buckler.
Would that work…?
I got shot down pretty quickly, but it didn’t hurt.
I managed to sell off a lot of my items.
I had plenty of room to carry more items in the future.
While I was at it, I asked if it would be possible to use the Forest Tiger Skins, Maneater Crocodile Skins, or Sifca Skins to make some armour.
Of course, I asked in the hopes of stumbling on a material that was superior to the Fighting Bull Leather Armour that I was wearing.
And on top of that, I had to get enough armour for four: Goki, Senki, Telomere, and myself.
I decided to leave the individual designs for someone else to figure out though.
As for the Killer Ape Skins, the Crest Snake Skins, and the Striped Sea Snake Skins, I sold off all of them.
They seemed a bit too exotic… Although I did want some Dead-eyed Cat Skin helmets.
I had a feeling I could look forward to it having some sort of special effect…
Ah well, it wasn’t that high on the priority list though.
I was definitely a bit concerned with all the bones.
I wasn’t hesitant at all about selling off the Killer Ape Bones…
But what was I to do with the Dinosaur Skulls, the Pterosaurus Skulls, and the Killer Scorpion Claws?
I thought about it for a bit, but no ideas came to mind.
But…
It was a small hunch, but I was a bit worried about what all the Production Job Players in the room would think…
Would I get labelled as a big joke again?
I finally decided to just give them the raw materials, and leave the design to them.
「Sorry, I’ll use these as a form of compensation for the time being, if you don’t mind.」
Fiona handed me a small bag full of coins.
And on top of that, she gave me two Mana Crystals.
Oh well, I suppose that couldn’t be helped.
It wasn’t like Fiona had an infinite amount of coins on her either.
