I recalled Peptide, and summoned Romulus.
I could get Romulus to imitate Volff.
Well, they were at different levels, but at the end of the day they were both wolves, after all.

I hunted some Bugbears in quick succession, and Romulus levelled up in no time.
Well, I suppose this kind of thing would only happen at the lower levels anyway, so I could let it slide.

But before that, I had to switch out Romulus with another Summon Monster.
I took a bit for me to decide, but I eventually summoned Florin.
I was thinking of summoning Denier too, but I could train Denier both during the day and the night.
While it was night-time, I wanted to use the opportunity to train my bat Florin.
The time was still 10:20 pm.
And I still had more than 40% of my MP bar left.
I could still keep going for a bit.
As I kept going, the groups of Bugbears I was hunting started getting bigger.
As expected, 7 Bugbears was about my limit.
That was, of course, factoring in that Telomere could suck the Bugbears’ blood to get her MP back.
As usual, Telomere had no worries when it came to her MP bar, which was reliable on one hand, and scary on the other.

What were the options going to be…
First, I recalled Bunraku inside the Instant Portal.
I summoned Naraka.
Afterwards, I took a look at Gokame’s Class Change Candidates.
I had to be sure I didn’t forget to use Fusion Identification too.
What about before the Class Change?
I already knew what the result was going to be, but I checked again, just in case.

There were two candidates.
The first name was a name I had seen before.
It was that big tortoise I encountered in the forest.
I remembered it being a troublesome opponent who made full use of stone bullets and water walls.

Now that I thought about it, it was quite similar to the fighting style that Gokame was already using.
Well, that was fine.
It would be a good choice, but I wanted to check the other option too.

It performs best in forests, along with beaches, and shallow waters.

I guess that meant that if I kept training Gokame, I could eventually fuse him.

It seemed to be a Summon Monster more adapted to underwater combat.
Although the text said it could fight on the ground too, I had a feeling it was going to be quite weak anywhere else but in the water.
Although it definitely would be convenient to have another underwater Summon Monster.
And on top of that, they both had future Class Changes leading to fusion targets…
It was a bit hard to picture what that fusion Summon Monster would look like.
Well, I did have some ideas in mind, but it seemed far too early to make any definitive guesses.
The Forest Tortoise seemed like the more natural choice, so I decided to go with that.
So, how much bigger did Gokame grow?
He grew by a lot!
It was exactly like that Forest Tortoise I fought in the past.
It was an amazing sight.
Gokame’s weight definitely just about doubled too!
Well, I didn’t have a scale or anything to confirm that, but it definitely looked like that was the case.
So Gokame was now as heavy as that monster that even Senki had a hard time rolling over, huh…
Probably.
But…
I decided to recall Gokame.
I could leave seeing Gokame in action for another time.
I wanted to use Gokame in the forest, where, as the name suggested, a Forest Tortoise would shine best.
For the time being, I wanted to train some of my other Summon Monsters.
I summoned Goki.
I hadn’t used Goki in a long time, after all.
I wanted to see him go wild again.
The time was 11:20 pm.
I wanted to end the day on a good note, and an opportunity to do that finally came.

Before logging out, I tried summoning and recalling all of my Summon Monsters to see if I had any Summon Monsters that could fuse with Gengetsu.
There were none.
There were no Summon Monsters that fit that category.
What would be that other Summon Monster, though…
I was definitely a mystery I wasn’t even close to solving.
I gave up and decided to call it a day and log out.
It was already quite late into the night anyway.
I had to log in tomorrow at the arranged meeting time.
It was something I couldn’t forget.
