Chapter 2 : The construction of Azuchi Castle and the revolt of Honbyo-ji
A new year had started, and spring had descended onto the Sengoku era Japan.
Within a year, the Sengoku era’s map had been, and continued to be, rewritten on a grand scale on a day-to-day basis.
The young Daimyo of the Owari province, Oda Nobuna had first defeated Suruga province’s Daimyo, Imagawa Yoshimoto at the 「Battle of Okehazama」. Soon after that, she conquered the Mino province and made an alliance with Azai Nagamasa by means of a political marriage before successfully proceeding with her march towards Kyoto. Nobuna then had conquered Kyoto in the blink of an eye, installed Imagawa Yoshimoto as a puppet Shogun whom she would control from the shadows, and was acknowledged by Himiko-sama, the lord of Kyoto’s Imperial Palace and the leader of all spiritual matters of Japan.
