While Agedilus clicked his tongue out loud in frustration, Filmina lowered her eyebrows as if she was troubled
「Please don’t force yourself…..that being said, no matter how much I say so, surely you would not listen to “me” 」
Sigh. She exhaled as if she was dealing with a stubborn child. Agedilus did not reply. Instead, he did not hesitate to say a spell out loud that would stop the magical power from spreading further in Filmina. Then, Agedilus cast the spell from his wand. Although the magical constraints tore Agedilus’s body, he could not afford to care about his own pain.
However, the morning glow light that was cast after overcoming the pain, did not reach Filmina. An invisible wall surrounding her stopped the light, after which the light disappeared. It was as if Filmina was batting a fly. The difference in magical power between the current Filmina and Agedilus was immense.
「Goes beyond my spell’s calculations huh. How impudent」
「I feel honoured by your stubborn praise」
Although Agedilus knew that he should not be joking right now, he still smiled. Upon receiving his smile, Filmina also smiled as if having fun. As expected, her smile was like the usual smile he loved, yet was definitely not so. The Filmina Agedilus knew did not smile in such a chilling way. His heart pained at this fact.
「Give me back my Filmina」
The words Agedilus softly murmured was already a plea. Yes, he was begging. It was his plea from the bottom of his heart to “Filmina”.

Targeting the moment Agedilus was careless, Filmina let out a black light from her hand. This cut through the morning glow colored light in rope form that Agedilus had made to restrain Filmina, and attacked Agedilus.
While reflecting the black light with his own morning glow colored light, Agedilus cast a magic spell once again. However, the caster’s hesitation will directly manifest in the magic. Filmina was laughing as if having fun. One, two three. Dodging the spells Agedilus had cast, Filmina kicked the floor as if dancing. Having magical power surrounding her, she flew through the air and then landed gracefully on a place far from Agedilus. Her dark eyes directly looked at Agedilus.
「Oh no, what a naughty boy」

An invisible shock wave attacked Agedilus. Unguarded, he could not remain standing there, and was involuntarily slammed onto the wall. Agedilus could not even break his fall, let alone cast a barrier to protect himself. Leaning against the wall, Agedilus sat down and coughed roughly. Filmina gazed at him as if sorry for him.
「This is a small punishment for a naughty person like you. Please stay there obediently. I will finish it in no time. Even if you are naughty, you should be able to wait that long, right? 」
As soon as she finished saying so, Filmina shot several beams in the form of black nails at Agedilus. They pierced Agedilus’s limbs and body in many places and pinned him to the wall.
Agedilus did not feel any pain. No blood was spilt. It was a magic that was specialized in just constraining the subject, not hurting it. As the royal head magician, Agedilus knew how this spell required immense skills and magical power. Moreover, Filmina did not even cast the spell out loud to structure it, and had simply cast it with one hand.
It was very bad. Everything was bad. Agedilus clenched his teeth strongly. Will I lose Filmina? Will I never be called, 「Edi」by that calm voice or never be touched by her gentle hands?
——It was no joke. Who could allow such a thing? Stop the joking.
It was impossible for Agedilus to accept such despair. It was Filmina that gave him happiness. Then she must carry the weight of this responsibility until the end.
Then, Agedilus smiled calmly like “Filmina” did.

「Filmina would not misjudge me as a man that would obediently wait here as “you” say」

Filmina’s dark eyes gleamed. While she held such a confused expression, Agedilus changed his expression from his calm smile to a smirk. He started concentrating the magical power in himself.
If Agedilus put in all his might, neither such magical constraint nor nail of the magical power of Filmina’s was of concern. Even if it would hurt himself, in front of him was someone that was more precious than that.
A crack appeared in the magical constraints on Agedilus’s limbs. The nail made by magic started shaking. Agedilus was trying to forcibly break them using his magical power, but both the constraints and the nails would not yield that easily. Upon such collision of magical powers, Agedilus’s limbs and body tore, and blood splattered everywhere. Upon seeing this, the color of Filmina’s face turned so pale that it could be seen from afar.
Where had her composure went? As if saying that she could not believe it, Filmina widened her dark eyes. She shook her head multiple times.

Ignoring Filmina who tried to open her mouth while changing the color of her face, Agedilus further concentrated his magical power. Had she panicked from Agedilus forceful actions? The cracks in the magical constraints became larger and deeper. Then finally they scattered apart. Filmina dumbfoundedly froze while gazing the whitish silver shards wet with blood scatter about.
As if coming down on Filmina who was bewildered, Agedilus called her.

「Filmina. It is alright. It is alright」
Agedilus stood up. He forcibly endured almost falling. Then, he reached his hand to Filmina. Although he did have some hesitation to touch her with his bloody hands, he could not help but reach out his hands. He wanted Filmina to take his hand. He desperately wanted to touch his hand.
「Let go of that power. You don’t need to dirty your hands for me」
Filmina’s hands were special to Agedilus. No, not just her hands, but Filmina was entirely special to Agedilus. He could not help but think so. But he especially liked her hands.
At times patting his head, at times combed his hair, at times flicked his forehead, at times caressed his cheeks, at times touched his body, at times held his hand. Agedilus loved Filmina’s hands that allowed him to do things he treasured. Although seemingly, she was somewhat uneasy about how they were rough from kitchen work and the laundry, her hands were more beautiful and precious than anything.

The “Filmina” right now was not Agedilus’s Filmina. That was why Agedilus talked to Agedilus’s Filmina that was swallowed by the currently “Filmina”.
However, Filmina did not knew what Agedilus thought. She did not even take his hands, but seemed to fear something——his wish. She backed away.

It was a short but distinct rejection. Alike a stubborn child, Filmina hugged her own body and shook her head multiple times.
「No, no. I don’t want to. Because if I have this power, I can, finally, finally protect you」
Agedilus objectively sensed himself widening his eyes. What had, Filmina just said? Protect? Me?
Without noticing Agedilus who dumbfoundedly stood there, Filmina continued with a shaky voice.
「Sorry. Sorry. Sorry. I, I was wrong. Everything is my fault. It is not Noct’s, the princess’s, or Sir Yuri’s fault. It is my fault. My foolishness had hurt you. I was the one that cornered you. I am the one that actually is supposed to be blamed. I know it. I know it 」
Agedilus had thought he had told Filmina that it was not her fault. However, currently, he realized that he had misjudged so. Although Filmina herself did not realize herself, but perhaps she had been subconsciously blaming herself without knowing it.
