Luna’s Diary

Hello, my name is Luna-Dillete.
And this is my daily diary.
I started keeping a diary the year I came to this world, and I am already on my fifth book.
In other words, it has been five years since being reborn in this world.
Well, putting that aside, let me begin on today’s log.
Today’s most noteworthy event is that my classmate, Haruto-san, became the owner of Vestier, the land of the Beastkin.
It might not be so obvious what that means, right?
What does being owner of a country even mean?
He’s going to own a country?

Is something only he can do.
Only Haruto-san is capable of that.
Actually there are now two countries that are under Haruto-san’s control.
We have the elven kingdom of Alheim, and the human kingdom of Glendale, where Haruto-sana and I come from.
Haruto-san married the princess of Alheim, Rifa. It was a huge celebration. However, just marrying a member of the royal family does not automatically make you the king, so you cannot rule over the country like that.
So why do I say that Haruto-san is ruling over Alheim—?
I say that because Haruto-san is the contractor of Sylph-sama, the king of the Wind Spirits. Sylph-sama is an incarnation of the World Tree which grows in the centre of Alheim, and gives blessings and bounty to Alheim.
In Alheim, Sylph-sama is more than a king, and his influence is immense. And such a being as Sylph-sama is commanded by Haruto-san.
It is therefore not assumptive to say that Haruto-san is ruling Alheim. He commands Sylph-sama, who is practically ruling Alheim.
As for Glendale, Haruto-san made a contract with the Water Spirit king Undine-sama, who also in the same way blesses the country.
He just has contracts with two spirit kings?
— No, that is not all. Haruto-san also contracted the Fire Spirit king Infrit-sama.
So he has contracts with three of the four Spirit Kings who rule the spirits of this world. He is above being a cheat. He is downright a cheater.
At this point it will no longer be surprising if he made a contract with the remaining Spirit King of the Earth, Nome-sama. But that is unlikely to happen.
Because unlike the other Spirit Kings, Nome-sama has never made a contract with a human before. So, it is how it is—
No, I should not be making assumptions.
It’s not impossible.
This is Haruto-sama we are talking about.
Now, back to Glendale. From the time of the previous King of Glendale, this country has developed as more of an agricultural country under the blessing of Undine-sama.
Not only does Glendale receive blessings from Undine-sama now, but also from the Celestial Spirit king. The Celestial Spirit king is the king of the Spirit Kings – in other words, the king of all spirits that exist on this planet. He is a mighty being.
The Creator God made this world, but it is in fact the spirits who maintain and manage it. To be the king of those spirits is amazing.
Why did such a being give blessings to Glendale—?
The answer is, again, Haruto-sama.
I heard that Haruto-sama also contracted the Celestial Spirit King. It so happens that the Celestial Spirit King is also the father of my two classmates Mai and Mei.
The Celestial Spirit King gave blessings to Glendale because of Haruto and his daughters, Mai and Mei.
This is in exchange for Glendale, as a country, taking care of Haruto and his daughters.
That means, on the off chance that Glendale turns hostile towards Haruto-san, all the spirits in this world will turn on the country of Glendale.
In order for that to never happen, the country has no choice but to protect Haruto-san and the girls.
In other words, Glendale is both receiving the blessings of the Celestial Spirit king while also being under his authority. And such a being listens to Haruto-san’s word.
It could be said that Haruto-san’s will determines the direction of Glendale. In that case, I do not think it is a stretch to say he controls the country.
So, today.
Haruto-sana has acquired yet another country.
After he won the Martial Arts God Tournament in Vestier, the kingdom of the Beastman, he became the owner of the country.
He is not a king though. He is the owner.
He is in a higher position than the king.
For instance, today, Haruto-san appointed a king to rule the country on his behalf.
Merely winning the Martial Arts God Tournament does not give him that much authority though.
However, Haruto-san defeated the warlocks who were attacking Vestier and saved the king who had fallen under a powerful curse.
Furthermore, by also being the champion of the Martial Arts Gods Tournament, Haruto-san demonstrated the extent of his power.
In the end, Haruto-san left the ruling of the country to the king, and only wanted ownership. He claimed he would protect the country.
This proposal made by Haruto-san was surprisingly easily accepted by the Beastkin.
This is how Haruto-san acquired the country of Vestier.
Haruto-san also took Merdi-san at the same time.
Merdi is a cute cat-beast girl and my classmate. And she is the princess of Vestier.
After Haruto-san won the Martial Arts God Tournament, he called Merdi onto the fighting platform and said in front of the tens of thousands of Beastkin gathered in the arena.
『I’m also taking Merdi. Anyone who has a problem with that, say it now』

Right now I am alone in a guest room of the royal castle of Vestier. I feel even more lonesome.
Usually, when I travel with my class, I either sleep with everyone in a big room or share a room with Merdi-san.
But today, Merdi-san is at Haruto-san’s, so I am alone. When I think that from now on I might be alone forever, it depresses me.
